Speaking of Post Office. I dont know whats up with Japan's Post Office right now. My EMS package has been in the Tokyo Post Office Area for about a week and half now. EMS takes around 5-7 days around the non-busy seasons.

International shipments often take a while. And they often don't update information as often as a domestic order would. It could be halfway across the U.S. by now, but not updated.

THIS^!!!!!

I've Been waiting since Feb. 3 for a package of three games from Japan.  For the past 19 days, the tracking info says "processed through Tokyo Terminal D" or something like that.  Pretty much daily, the info will change to say "Origin is preparing shipment:  ago."  WTF does that even mean????  The next day, the roles are reversed.  It does this every day for 24 days now!!!   >:(

to the OP, file a complaint online with USPS.com.  They will call you back.  My mail lady is good as gold.  But unfortunately, she doesn't deliver on Saturday and it's a substitute driver, this big, ugly scowling broad.

I exploded one day.  I was outside, nice day.  I was screwing around out there because I was anxiously awaiting two Neon Genesis Evangelion books I bought from Japan and would have to be signed for.  Tracking said they were out for delivery.  So up the driveway, I see the scowler pull up to the mailbox, put something(s) in and drive off.  WTF!  I figure maybe there was a mistake and the package didn't get sent out from the office.  I walk up to the mailbox and open it to find an attempted delivery notice!  This !@#$#$@ pre-filled out a form because her ass was too lazy to pull down the driveway...and she saw me standing outside!  That was the first run-in with who I refer to as pig vomit.

One day, I come home from work and there is a Walmart bag handing from the end of my mailbox.  Now, my mailbox is right by the road when cars, trucks, etc. fly by at 55mph...or more usually 70+.  So here is my expensive stuff I bought, dangling precariously by the flimsy plastic of a wally-world bag with cars blasting by a foot away!   >:(

One time, I bought an art of Halo book.  It wasn't that expensive, but it was mint, I obviously wanted it because I bought it and was very anxious to get it.  Having been reprimanded (I suppose) for her shenanigans, she left the box on my side porch.  Normally not an issue, I'm in a rural area and theft isn't a big concern.  Except it had been raining since the friggin' night before and she left it in the rain!  The bottom left edge was soaked!  #$%#$#$^%  @#$#$!!!!

And the most recent, I was expecting a package from Japan with a copy of Chrono Trigger for the Super Famicom.  I wasn't home, but didn't think it was a big deal as the normal driver (the nice lady) will take packages like that next door to my dad and he signs for it.  Well guess what?  She was off for the day for an appointment and old pig vomit was driving!  Yep---got a friggin' pre-filled card in the box.  My parents were working outside and she never bothered to pull down my driveway or theirs!  I reported her online, got my package on Tuesday (Monday was President's Day) and finally cooled off.

But yeah, report that shit.  Do it online and they will call you.

I guess I'm really lucky because I have the sweetest mailman ever. He's a soft-spoken little old guy who's always polite and willing to wait more than five seconds for me to answer the door when I have a package. I actually feel a little guilty because I have to have at least two packages a week sent to me for work, and that's not even counting the stuff I order online. Whatever he's getting paid, it isn't enough.

U.S. Customs, on the other hand, always causes trouble for me. I order a lot of stuff directly from Japan and Hong Kong, and more than once has a package suddenly gone missing without explanation. I have a package now that's been sitting in retention since mid-January, and all it is a bunch of books.

I've been waiting on my package for four weeks now with no update.  Never had one take this long.  It's killing me because it's my set of Super Famicom Final Fantasy IV, V and VI games!   >:(  And being the glutton for punishment that I am, I couldn't resist picking up a fairly priced copy of Policenauts.  Hopefully, it doesn't take forever to get here.   :-\

^ Wow, I'm sorry. I wouldn't even bother with post office for help, though. If it's anything like my experience with them, they just don't care. I would, however, contact the seller. Many sellers care enough about their feedback (if they're a reputable seller) that they will try their best to make it up to you.

I've already talked to him.  Pretty decent guy.  At this point, if it doesn't show up by (I believe) the 17th, I can file a claim which won't affect him as the package shipped with tracking info.  So eBay will reimburse me for my money.  But I'm still out my lovely set of games.   :'(

I had a package from Hong Kong take almost as long, and mine was updating the same. Supposedly, it was stuck in the backup from the West Coast port situation. Did finally get it though. Good luck with yours!

My partner is a postal worker, I get to hear all kinds of stories on a weekly basis. Most complaints get tossed out unless it's something amazingly expensive and even then UPS will normally find a way out with little more than a "be more careful next time" to the carrier.

My turn!

So sometime recently the USPS overhauled their system... again. I brought a flat rate label thinking they'd have boxes, and no, they didn't have any. So I asked for a standard Priority box and told them I'd pay the additional shipping, which ended up being $1ish. Okay. No worries.

Except now, the clerk decided I needed a second label, with the address, and a separate tracking number. What?

Now, before, they could just add the additional postage with a sticker that showed I paid the extra cash. But apparently they can't do that anymore. Or the postal worker who did this is clueless. Wait, she IS clueless, she always messes up my packages when I hand them over. Hell I had to ask her to scan my original label so it'd show up as being in the system!

Augh... this is stuuuuuuuuupid. I know USPS is sinking but stupid bureaucratic crap like this ISN'T HELPING. I still remember a while ago when they decided they had to ask the clerks to enter all the label info into the system, by hand, for no reason at all...

Do you think these big companies/corporations like the USPS ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe part of their problem is they suck?  They treat you like crap, they treat your mail & parcels like crap and they do stupid $hit like leave packages in the rain, hang them off the front of your mailbox or have pre-filled cards they throw in your mailbox because they are too lazy to bring the package to your door.  All of these happened to me various times BTW.

Have you ever gotten a piece of mail that is literally destroyed?  So bad they put it in what looks like an evidence baggie with a damaged label on it?

Then they make these stupid changes like you talk about for seemingly ridiculous reasons.  Then talking heads bark about how they are losing money because of email, yet they can't manage to handle the flow of what they do have to handle!
