Some of my biggest achievements in collectings:

1. Acquiring some of the rarer consoles like TurboGrafx-16, Sega Saturn, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Sega CD (and then having my Sega CD stop wanting to read discs  )

2. Some of my more rare games (nothing too special, though):
-Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1)
-The Dungeons & Dragons Anthology: The Master Collection (PC)
-The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (Gamecube) - Not sure why exactly, but this one is expensive now.
-Mega Man: Legends (PS1)
-Parasite Eve (PS1)
-Radiant Historia (NDS) - Soon to be sold.
-Resident Evil 2: Dual-Shock Edition (PS1)
-Splatterhouse (TG-16)

3. I'm so very close to 500 games. Like only 3 titles to go.

4. I own the entire Super Mario series up to Super Mario Galaxy:
-Super Mario Bros. 1-3 (NES)
-Super Mario World (SNES)
-Super Mario All-Stars (SNES)
-Super Mario Land 1-3 (Game Boy)
-Super Mario Advance 1-4 (GBA)
-Super Mario 64 (N64)
-Super Mario Sunshine (Gamecube)
-New Super Mario Bros. (DS)
-New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
-Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

Well, all of them except Super Mario Deluxe (GBC) and Classic Mario Bros. (NES). And I don't own a Wii U or 3DS, yet.

And with today's buys I now have 70 360 games!

Since last May, I've been keeping track each month how many games I acquire. Last month I added to my collection a record number of 16 games (I found so many cheap ones, I couldn't let the occasions pass!) and also broke the 40 mark for my DS Games! 

I'm almost there, Scott. Watch out!

I think you should make 2600 the milestone number. Seems the gamer thing to do.

That's true but 2500 is 1/4 of the way to 10,000

I can now add Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II to my more rare games list! And Radiant Historia is history (heh), sold it for a cool $50.

And I know they aren't exactly rare, but they do go for a pretty penny: I also got Final Fantasy Anthology, Final Fantasy VIII & IX in a lot on eBay for only $15 complete! It was in the wrong category.

This is true. But 2600 is halfway to 5200 and a third of the way to 7800.

I don't import, because I don't know a lick of Japanese nor do I have a Famicom or any other Japanese system even if I could.  And I consider having the SNES version of All-Stars no different than the Wii version. It has the same games on it. I remember being quite disappointed that the Wii version had the same games. And I do have Lost Levels on my copy of All-Stars.

I pretty much never buy multiple copies of the same game, unless it's a handheld version of a console game or vice-versa. I figure why blow my money on a game I already own, when I could buy a game I don't own.

Never heard of Super Mario Bros. Special until now. But considering I'll likely never see those systems much less own one, I'll probably never get the opportunity to play it, unfortunately.

With the addition of 2 more should-be commons, I just reached 650 NES carts. My collection is coming along smoothly and I have a decent mix of games. Only about 100 left til Im complete but some of them will never find their way into my house unless the Almighty himself shines down some miracles (Stadium Events, Myraid 6-1, Cheetahmen II, Panesian trio, etc). Pretty happy though as I still have some cheap titles to add so its not going to be *that* bad to the end.
