Found Tony Hawk American Wasteland on Gamecube and grabbed Demons Souls on PS3 from a pawn shop.  Not a great deal on Demons Souls, your basic pricing, but just wanted to grab it to have.

Grabbed the Nintendoland / Luigi Wiimote Plus bundle that was on clearance at Best Buy for $30.  Now I need the Peach Wiimote, and I suppose I'll have to end up importing the Yoshi one.  :-\

Man I hate the flea market in the summer, so few people selling things at the garage sale section.  Wasn't a complete bust, but not much I was really looking for.  Kinda funny I was talking about not wanting to ever own Atari, but I will totally take an anthology of 85 Atari games to fool around with when I want to lol

Now story time...
I stopped at a garage sale that advertised "Vintage handheld video games" when I got there i asked about them and he pointed to two PSP's, at first I was disappointed then he pulled out an Atari Lynx with about 8 games (nothing rare) the system was in pretty beat up shape, scratched the hell up in a discolored carry bag, but the games where in nice shape. I asked how much and he came back with $120.  :o He was saying they are so rare that they never appear on ebay and would sell fast if he put it on there. So i asked if he could sell some of the games and he wanted $30 a game.  :o
At this point I just walked.

Then I saw and ad on craigslist for a seller at a flea market selling tons of rare/obscure games. So I made the trip and I found out why he had a lot of rarer games in stock. His prices where almost double what they sell for on Ebay. He wanted $70 for a loose SNES for crying out loud. Even the cheaper games where crazy priced, a game that sells for $20 he wanted $30-$40. At this point I stopped asking prices and walked.

I am seriously jealous of that PSP - that thing is NICE! :D

I didn't even look at sales this weekend - holding off for the world's longest yard sale next weekend.  REALLY hoping I have some of your luck! ;)  The only thing that sucks is that it runs Thurs - Sun, but I can't leave work until noon Fri because my boss is going too and we can't both take off at the same time.  :(

Went to a car-boot sale today, got quite a lot of pretty frickin' cool stuff.

PS2:
Red Dead Revolver

PS1:
Caesars Palace
Doom (In an odd double case - the other side had a manual for Road Rash and a random PlayStation Magazine demo disc)
Gran Turismo
Grand Theft Auto
SoulBlade
Tekken
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (x2)
Tenchu 2
Worms

Cost me a grand total of £4.50 altogether.
Red Dead, Tekken and one of the Tenchu's I got for 50p each, the rest were in a box where the guy just said "You can have all of em for £3", so obviously I couldn't pass that up :3

Got this little gem in Santa Cruz this weekend while there with the wife. Found it at a video game shop called Level-Up Video Games.

Really cool place that had this glass display full of old consoles, handhelds, Game & Watches, rare controller (like the Power Glove), all kinds of awesome stuff that most collectors only dream of coming across.

Went hunting for games at a few of my hotspots today, but only ended up with Road Rash 3D (PS1) and Assault Retribution (PS1). Only paid a buck each for them so I'm happy with what I found :)

Haven't found much as of late.  In the past two weeks, the only game I've picked up at garage sales was We Love Katamari (PS2).  Been looking for that one for a long time, strange to find it at a garage sale that only had 3 PS3 games, and the others were all Guitar Hero.

Nice. I have that Atari Anthology on Xbox it's ok. I'm not a big fan of the Atari stuff though, so I rarely play it.

That 007 game on the other hand, I've been looking for locally for a bit. Nice snag. I need that and From Russia with Love.

my parents bought me a ps2 for Christmas in 2001. it was the first (and only!) time they ever bought me a new system. Only had hand-me-downs before then from people who had upgraded and didn't want their old consoles. So for the first year the only games I had were Agent Under Fire, Fifa 2002 and Tony Hawk 3 then I got Madden 2003 and Medal of Honor for my birthday the following Summer... Those were the days man!

My copy of Witcher doesn't have a product-key, when I looked. It just uploads to your PC from the disc once, and then plays straight from your hard drive.

That's the Japanese name for our Super Mario Bros. 2.

Video games making names complicated since 1992!

Ok it was before 1992 but you get what I mean :D

So let me get this straight:

Japan released SMB2 (Lost Levels)‚ they also released Doki Doki Panic. Then they slapped Mario characters onto Doki Doki Panic and sent it over here to the States and called it SMB2.

But then someone decided to release the repackaged U.S. version in Japan. So they essentially released the same game twice, on the same console? Wow.

Konami did this too with Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa. FDS first, cart later. :p

But Doki Doki Panic and SMB2 have slightly different gameplay between the two, not to mention the music and improved graphics in SM USA.

Found out today about these Nintendo figures that Target is selling, so I swung by my store on my way home after work.  Grabbed these 3 for $9/each, plus I found this cool Mario Galaxy puzzle on a clearance endcap for less than $3.  :D

Monday night I couldn't sleep, so I ended up awake at 3:00am & on CAG (a bad combo :P).  Found out Microsoft was selling some Skylanders for $5/each w/ free shipping, so I ordered 3 and they arrived today:

As Fox said the game isn't quite the same as Doki Doki Panic. Movement, music and some graphics were updated in SMB2(USA)/SMUSA. Panic was on the Disk System (http://vgcollect.com/item/19438) which not everyone had and so some consumers might had missed out on. SMUSA was released as a cartridge. (Kinda funny, they did that in a similar fashion with Zelda too. Disk System game brought back as a cartridges a while later.) My hunting spoils for the evening. I haven't added original XBOX games to my collection in a while so it was a real treat to find both these rare trilogies for only $5 each. I also collect strategy guides and for $3 a pop, I went a little crazy lol.

It's a fighting game boss.  I don't think I've played a fighting game without a boss that wasn't a cheap piece of crap lol

I got Ultra myself on the cheap a little bit ago with Super Street Fighter.  Hugo drives me nuts, but I do like playing as Elena and when I get more practice, I'll enjoy Poison.

I wish Capcom had put more effort into this instead of copying and pasting stuff from SF x Tekken. You know, the game they abandoned.

And giving Cammy the Shotoclone treatment.

I want a top-loader because I'm sick of messing with the blinkies on my NES, even after replacing the 72-pin connector. But at the same time, I've heard that it doesn't have A/V hook-ups, which I don't like. Not sure it's worth biting the bullet or not, because they are a bit pricier.

I have both kinds burning, and I must say, I use my toaster primarily. On a HD TV especially, you really do need the A/V ports on the side. The top loader is way more reliable, but on a HD TV the coax connection introduces too much lag for me.

Hmm that's a good question. I'm trying to think of if my TV has that setting. Either way, I haven't had any problem with the A/V outputs on the toaster  ;D

You can stop the blinking on an (original) NES by disabling the lock-out chip. All you need is a screwdriver and pliers or wire-cutters.
Funny enough the downgraded 101 was actually an upgrade for Japan. Their 101 had the modern SNES/N64/GCN composite out. The original Famicom only had coax so there was actually a point in getting the "AV" Famicom.

In my opinion it's really not worth getting at market value.  If you can get a decent deal on one... sure. The pluses is that it's physically a lot smaller and it's easier to load games into it. The negative thing is that there's no RCA/composite. Only Coax. (Unless you're talking about the Japanese version) The other issue is that there's basically no easy way to change the 72-pin slot if you ever wanted to. With that said they don't wear much because of its design.

I bought a demo PC CD! ... I know, right?

(Novalogic PC CD sampler - not my pic)

I was looking at some stuff at the flea market when a seller dumped a bunch of stuff that I wanted to buy to resell. The stuff I saw ended up being unsellable, but this was underneath, it's a sampler CD with two demos and a trio of songs by "hot new artists" from Rubber Records. And by "hot new artists" I mean "I have no idea who these guys are."

So this is basically another thing for my oddity collection. It cost me $1 because I told the seller it was a music CD. Which it technically is. XD

I already own this one but for 50 cents with case, CD, and manual I wasn't going to pass it up.

If any Wii owners here want to trade me something for it hit me with a pm. I know it's not worth a lot  but it is a good little game. Willing to trade for something in the same league.

It's the only decent deal I found out at the yard sales today.

Passed on a $50 original Xbox with $10 a piece crap games.

Passed on a Tony Hawk game with board. Passed on numerous sports titles.

picked up a bunch of sport games I didn't have at a local book store for .50c a piece.

PS2
- ESPN NBA 2Night
- ESPN College Hoops
- NHL 07
- NBA 2K7
- Cabela's Deer Hunt 2005 Season
- Karaoke Revolution
- Dance Factory

XB
- MVP Baseball 2004
- Madden NFL 2005
- ESPN College Hoops 2K5
- NCAA Football 06
- NCAA Football 07

and then i stopped at a local used game store and picked up these.

Wii
- Walk It Out! (This game always appears on everyone's rarest Wii games list, so when I saw it for $14 i figured better safe then sorry and grabbed it.)

PS2
- Disgaea: Hour of Darkness ($10)

I didn't take pic's because I really didn't think that most of this was anything that special.
Sorry I've been slacking on the My 8-Bit reviews, my personal life has been nothing but busy lately.

Nothing too great this weekend.  For $22 I picked up the following:

GBA SP (onyx) with 6 games
Playstation 1 with 2 games
XBox (Batman Dark Tomorrow and The Stuffering: The Ties that Bind -- loose discs)

Nothing great to speak of, just pretty common titles.  GBA came with F-Zero at least.

I've hesitated replaying this game for the same reason.  I have really fond memories of it, but I'm afraid it won't hold up after all the shooters I've played since then.  So I'll be interested in hearing what you think of it now.  :)

Got some cheap Wii games today.

Nice, I've been looking for a copy of Baroque with no luck.

I will have to post some pics of my weekend haul tonight.  Got back from my World's Longest Yard Sale trip yesterday and was wiped.  It was a mixed bag; we had fun and I got some decent pick-ups but if it was solely looked at as a trip to find deals and not a trip for fun (which it was both) then it wasn't worth the time, gas & fighting the crowds for what I got.  Plus since I couldn't start until Sat. morning because of work & then rain, I probably missed most of the deals that were there in the first place.  I know one lady told me EVERYONE had been asking for video games when I asked if she had any.  But in spite of that I got a few nice pickups and we had fun, so no regrets.  Plus I got to revisit that incredible used game/book/movie/music store in Chattanooga that I went to earlier this year, and I grabbed some things I've been looking for there for great prices.  :)

-Dungeon Keeper 2 (PC)
-Heroes of Might and Magic III (PC)

Bought Persona 4 Arena (PS3) for $10 at a big electronics store, nothing special there. Afterwards, I went to a thrift store and got these for 75 cents each:
-Dungeon Keeper 2 (PC)
-Heroes of Might and Magic III (PC)
-Myst (PC)
-Nuclear Strike (PS1)
I'm really looking forward to playing Myst and Dungeon Keeper 2. I really enjoyed Dungeon Keeper Gold, hopefully DK2 doesn't let me down.

Dungeon Keeper 2 is one of my all-time favorite PC games.  I was a HUGE Bullfrog fan as a kid - Mollyneux hasn't done anything since that comes close to the games he made as part of that team.

Well, it happened. After being on pre-order for nearly a year, my Retron 5 arrived on my porch today. Im so shocked that I still havent even opened it up yet.

Surprise! It's not a Retron! It's actually a toaster.

Sadly, thats what it feels like right now. I plugged it into my TV but the controller does not want to recognize the system. Ive had it charging for at least 2 hours now and when I try to do anything with it, it just blinks and turns back off. Sigh.

*Update* Well, it seems that the controllers themselves are not synced to the system upon release (at least this one wasnt). I got my NES controller out and went to settings and clicked on pair controller and it is now synced up. :D

I've hesitated replaying this game for the same reason.  I have really fond memories of it, but I'm afraid it won't hold up after all the shooters I've played since then.  So I'll be interested in hearing what you think of it now.  :)

Ehhh, yeah it doesn't hold up quite as well as we remember lol It's not bad, it's a very reasonable shooter, but the destruction and weapon audio I remember wasn't as good as I thought it was, though the story was just as throwaway as I remember.  It takes it self SOOOOO seriously lol The destruction can still be fun and it's like a Michael Bay film with even more explosions, but the campaign gets abit boring after a few levels.  Also the controls are really sluggish movement wise which makes it a tad annoying.  It's still alright if you just want a big explosive shoot em up.

Gotcha, I'll just keep that one as a good memory then.  ;)

OK, here's my weekend haul.  I've split it into 2 parts (well 3 pics, but that was more due to space ;) ) - what I got from yard sales doing the World's Longest Yard Sale, and what I got from Gamestops & used stores along the way.  First 2 pics are from yard sales:

(https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3852/14895498531_fed2111e1c_c.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/oGgjLc)IMG_4026 (https://flic.kr/p/oGgjLc)

(https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5555/14711880170_41435678dc_c.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/oq3eqo)IMG_4027 (https://flic.kr/p/oq3eqo)

Phantasmagoria, Jedi Knight 2 (sealed), the Aqua Teen dvd set & the Blinky plush were from the same sale, $6 total.  BTW, I have no interest in that Jedi Knight 2, just grabbed it because it was cheap & sealed, so if someone who collects pc stuff wants to trade me a little something for it I'll be happy to let it go.  :)

The Genesis was $3, no a/v cords and I don't think that's the right power cord for it either.  It was raining and they had let it get wet, so they let me have it cheap since who knows if it will actually work or not.

Conker: Live & Reloaded and Champions of Norrath (case but no manual :( ) were $1/each.  Both disks are fairly rough but I tested Conker and it plays fine - haven't tested Champions yet.  Sold Conker already, actually, because I hate that game - but I'm no fool, I'm well aware of its value.  :P

Rock Band 3 they also let get wet which ruined the insert (I have it, removed it to let it dry but it's basically destroyed).  But when I asked her what she wanted for it she told me $0.50 - so I couldn't pay her fast enough.  That game is $30+ all day long, and I need it for my RB collection.  Looks like I can get a insert off of the 'bay for $4.00 or so shipped, so if I'm out around $5 all said & done I'm STILL coming out like a bandit.

The 2 Hot Shots games are complete & in great condition, they were $3/each.  They had a ton more PS2 games but all sports/Nascar/hunting.

My biggest haul was a Wii bundle.  The Wii isn't pictured because my mom has it now.  See, I gave the Wii I modded to be able to play the Xenoblade import to my mom a while back, but she hates the fact that it's modded because the menu is slightly different and she can't use Netflix on it.  I hate that I don't have my modded system anymore.  ;)  So I've been looking for a good deal on one for her so I could get mine back.  Everything in this bundle was in immaculate collection - this kid apparently takes care of his stuff like I do, and that's saying something.  ;)  I got the system w/ manual & all cables/sensor bar, 2 Wii Motion + controllers, 2 nunchucks, Punch Out!! (only good game he had but I've been looking for that one :) ), the Resident Evil bundle for PS2, Spider-Man 2 also for PS2 and the Spongebob plug & play game for $50 total.  I thought that was a pretty good deal.  :)

Oh, and the Gary toy I found at a sale for a dime - I have 4 (now 5) of the 8 of those Spongebob "square" toys from McDonalds, so I was happy to find another.  Now for my store purchases:

(https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3903/14711879720_51860fe086_c.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/oq3ehC)IMG_4028 (https://flic.kr/p/oq3ehC)

The giant used game/book/movie/music store in Chattanooga that we've found is called McKay's.  It's a really nice place.  As for their games, for the stuff that Gamestop still carries often their prices will be more expensive (but their games are also typically in better shape) - sometimes by just a couple bucks or so, sometimes much more.  On two tho they were significantly lower - Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 & The Orange Box both for PS3.  Gamestop charges $45 & $35 used for those respectively, I paid $28 & $20.  Both like new.  At the same store I also grabbed The Conduit for $5, Viking for $8 and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for $13.  All of those were mint as well.

The rest came from 3 different Gamestops.  Don't remember most of these prices.  ;)  They are Klonoa (Wii) (why didn't someone TELL me they remade the original Klonoa for the Wii???  >:(  :P ), Fishing Resort (Wii), Little King's Story (Wii), Pinball Hall of Fame (PS3), Venetica (PS3) and Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire (PS3).  All of those except for Gundam were games I have been looking for with no luck, Gundam was an impulse buy because it was cheap & I don't remember seeing it locally.  The rest were cart-only DS games: Metroid Pinball (this one works!! :D), Sands of Time, Witch's Wish, Space Invaders Extreme 2, Prey the Sun, Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer, Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals & Meteos: Disney Magic.

Last Tuesday was a very special day for me, for it marked the day where I got my first big-box PC game! It was Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, in excellent condition and I found it sat lonely on a random piece of furniture in a charity shop for £3, so that's pretty frickin' awesome! Oh, and in the box there was a disc in a plastic wallet, International Cricket Captain 2000 from the Xplosiv range. Is that a thing that came with all copies of C&C: TS or did I just end up getting a random 2 for 1 deal?
Also picked up these games over the past couple of weeks:
(PS1)
Gran Turismo 2 (which turned out to be the US version, so unfortnately I cannot play it :( ) - £1
Quake II - £3
Tomorrow Never Dies - £1
THPS 2 - £3

(PS2)
Aggressive Inline - 50p
The Getaway: Black Monday - 50p
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect - 50p
The Warriors - 50p

(PS3)
Skate 2 - £3

(PC)
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 - £2
Toy Story: Screen Scenes (an odd little screensaver software, I think) - £1

And some other random non-gaming-but-still-cool stuff :P

Metroid Prime Pinball and Punch Out Wii are great titles!

I've only had a chance to play a couple minutes of MPP so far, testing it out.  But I can already say I loved what I played!  I'm becoming quite a video pinball aficionado it seems, hence the reason I've been trying to track down that collection for the PS3.

Today is a momentous occasion! I stumbled across my first bootleg! lol

Was checking out the new games at the thrift shop that I've been pretty good at finding nice deals and came across a copy of Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World on GBA.  Their GBA games are usually only a couple bucks a piece so it seemed like a cool grab.  I got home and noticed the shell was abit lose, figuring maybe I needed to just tighten the screw on the back.  I noticed that the screw had very clearly been used and stripped.  That got me thinking...I started to look online and right away, I noticed the artwork is completely wrong as every one I saw on Ebay had one type of artwork, so I realized I had a bootleg lol  Upon closer inspection of the front, it pointlessly adds and misspells "LICFENSED BY NINTENDO" lol

It still has the game in it which seems to run after a couple tries, so I'm not completely screwed, I just don't have an official version now lol

Oh and I got MGS2 which turns out to be part of the Essential Collection set that had MGS1, 2, and 3.

I ran to the one game store I usually hit up for miniatures paint and in their used PS2 section they had From Russia with Love CIB for $3. So I snagged it.

Then, I had a freebie $25 Amazon card from my bank's rewards program, so I ordered Shadow Hearts: Covenant. After the card, I only paid $4 for it. :)

I gotta say, this CE is *really* nice!  I can't believe I almost passed on it - full-size artbook instead of those mini artbooks that are so common, very nice figure & steelbook, the watch replica is cool and there's a neat mini plush of the cat.  The box is huge (bigger than the Xillia 1 CE box) and looks very nice displayed, and the figure itself comes inside another box inside w/ a clear front window so that if you wanted to, you could display him in that.  I didn't, had to stand him next to the Millia figure.  ;)  But I'm impressed, it's much nicer in person that it sounds on paper.  Basically, it doesn't feel like they cheaped out anywhere (well, they could have given us the full soundtrack I suppose... :P).  $130 was a bit steep, but the $110 I got it for after coupon is more reasonable (and honestly that's what I paid for the first Xillia CE after tax - I didn't pay tax on this one because I ordered it direct from Namco).

Ordered this magazine from eBay. It was a gaming magazine I used to have as a kid that I'd read over and over again. So this should be a neat bit of nostalgia:

I remember the magazine just being huge, and covering every system imaginable at the time; rather than just Nintendo and Sega.

I also got this issue, too, so I could read one I haven't seen before:

The magazine started out as "VideoGames & Computer Entertainment", and later changed to this title.

I also added these issues to the database.

Sorry, couldn't get one last night (I was thinking of doing a quick unboxing video, but lighting in my house sucks for video).  I'll try to snap a pic tonight assuming I don't forget.  ;)

EDIT: Oh, and Burning - VG&CE was my favorite magazine in middle school / high school.  I actually just sold my collection of it earlier this year, I had all of the VG&CE issues except for #1 & half of one of the other years.  Then I had about a year or so of it after the name changed, but it wasn't as good then.

Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter (PC) - $2
Vietnam: Black Ops (Valusoft jewel case rerelease) (PC) - $2

Bounty Hunter has four CDs in a three disc DVD case. Bleh. At least I replaced my copy of this, I bought the game for PS2 at a Gamestop and returned it the next day. They didn't want to give me a refund. :P

I made a rather large trade over the weekend. I didn't have to get rid of anything of real value but a few good games had to go, thankfully mostly doubles. I did lose FFX and FFXII though, but they will be easy to replace. I think it was about 20 games. But here is what I got:

OK, finally getting those Xillia 2 CE pics up - sorry it took so long.  :-\  Click the pics for a larger view:

The box, next to the Xillia 1 CE box for comparison.  To the far left you can see the side of the Symphonia CE box.

Full-sized hardback artbook (about 70 pages), plush & box that the watch replica is in.

Closed view of the top of the watch replica.  I didn't take a pic of it, but the other side has "Tales of Xillia 2" etched into it.  Down below is the velvet pouch you can store it in.

Opened watch replica.  The bottom part is a mirror, in case that isn't obvious from the photo. ;)

Ludger statue, front view.  Very nice detail IMO.

Finally a comparison pic w/ the Milla statue that came with the Xillia 1 CE.  As you can see they are the same scale & have similar bases - they make for a very cool matched set.  :)

There's a PC version at GOG, I thought I already owned it but I didn't. So I grabbed this one 'cause why the hell not, right?

So I ran over to Gamestop at lunch to return & rebuy the 3 used games I got last week so I could use 2 of the b2g1 coupons that I had to get some freebies.  For only $21 after tax on top of what I had already spent last week, I got:

(http://www.gamestop.com/common/images/lbox/230778b.jpg) (disk only, sadly, but as difficult as it is to find I'll take it anyway)

As a bonus, they had a used copy of Rock Band 3 with a mint insert, so since I knew the guy working there I asked him if I could have the insert to replace the water damaged one in the copy I got a couple weeks ago and he said sure.  :)

Is it just me, or does it seem like people destroy/get rid of the cases & manuals of rare games more often than common ones?  :-\  That same store got in a copy of Godzilla for the Wii but it's in REALLY bad shape (and for $40, I'm not as forgiving as I am at $7...).

I also picked up Conker's Bad Fur Day for 40!

All the stores I've been to this year have been keeping PS3/360/Wii cases & manuals except for one, where they had tossed the $4.99 & under PS3 cases & manuals for some weird reason.  ::)  But that wasn't one of my local stores, thankfully.  All the rest have the manuals & cases unless the games weren't traded in with them.  Now DS games, yes, 99% of those are tossed sadly.  :(

Aaaaaaaand just got a ton more Borderlands 2 and The Bureau DLC packs thanks to a guy in Brazil. I basically saved three bucks... by trading stuff that cost me $3, to get stuff that's worth $6. XD

So these more or less cost me $2.

Both games tops it went to here (hoping to score/save abandoned manuals) said they don't have a company wide policy of ditching manuals. They also added that they wish they could kick the people who toss them in the nuts. :)

PS2
Mortal Kombat Kollection (Deception, Shaolin Monks and Armageddon)

SNES
Super Game Boy

Game Boy
Pokemon Yellow and Red

N64
Pokemon Stadium w/transfer pak

PS1
Tekken 2 and 3

this was my big one... So I've been waiting forever to find a Wu-Tang Ps1 controller at a somewhat decent price. I almost never see the item come across ebay (and definitely never see it locally) and when it does it's usually more than I want to spend (one went up for 90 bucks recently that I passed on). While it wasn't the best deal ever, I came across one today that was selling for 41 bucks and it came with the game (Wu-Tang Shaolin Style... which, I guess, is called "Taste the Pain" for the PAL region) as well. However, it's from the UK and after shipping it ended up being just over 50 bucks... Main thing that sucks is I can't really play the game due to region locks, lol. I'm super happy about it tho, I'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge Wu-Tang Clan fan.

Now comes the waiting...

I've only played Bit.Trip Beat before I got this compilation, but I agree. It was definitely very challenging game, and the music is awesome. I was lucky enough that the used copy I found still had its soundtrack disc.

Bwigdahl, putting a mod chip in your PS1 to make it region free isn't that big of a deal if you have low-moderate skills w/ a soldering iron.

I stopped by a pawn shop today that I have literally passed thousands of times over the years because it is directly on my way home.  Always wanted to stop, just never did.  They had a pretty decent selection of PS3 games, and they were selling them for $10/each or 2 or more for $8/each.  So I grabbed Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm: Generations and the original Rainbow Six Vegas.  They were both complete & in excellent condition, as were 95% of the games I saw there.  Definitely going to be one of my regular stops now!  :)

That's exactly how Twisted Metal Black made it into my collection. :)

My pickups today:

Picked up these items for $15 from the local mom and pop.

Chrono Cross is just the case and manual. Someone stole the discs. My copy is the greatest hits release but the case art and manual have water damage.

I offered to buy the case for $5 but he refused to accept any money for it.

Went to a local shop that takes donations for teachers and the community - usually paint and fabric and corks and fake flowers and anything else people can use for crafts.  I only found out last year or so that sometimes there are video games, but the last time I dropped in, I only walked out with about 7 or so case-only items that I thought might be useful for case replacements.  I hadn't stopped in for a while, but on the way back from breakfast, I thought I'd show the place to my boyfriend.

We spent a good while in there, taking our time to find any hidden gems amongst the shelf of music CDs and such.

Here's the final haul for $55 and some change:

- Sega Dreamcast (all cables except for the power cable, but we discovered that our PS4 cable works), memory card, two controllers, and NHL2k in the tray
- Playstation 1: Twisted Metal (GH), 007: Tomorrow Never Dies
- Playstation 2: Activision Anthology, Socom 3
- PSP: Crisis Core, Grand Theft Auto, Assassins Creed: Bloodlines
- CD-R: Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos & Frozen Throne , Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring, Battle for Middle Earth II, CSI
and some other music/comedy CDs

Almost everything is CIB and in pretty good condition.  Only two or three items might be missing the disc or CD-key, but we were still pretty happy with what we found today.  I've been looking for a black label of Crisis Core to replace my GH, so that was my personal highlight.  The boyfriend made a major find seeing the Dreamcast behind the counter.  We took a risk on the untested console, and he nearly lost it when he was able to get it powered on and playing.

We spotted a cracked Sega Master System (no cables/controllers), too, for $9, but we don't know anything about fixing systems so we decided to pass on that one.

Oh yeah I was freaking out a little when I saw them because the store had them behind the counter and there was a long line so I had to wait to ask for them haha!

I'll probably upload pics later of all my thrift store finds from the past month

Just happened to be at a Gamestop today for a Ultra Street Fighter 4 tourny, but I came across Chromehounds on the 360 for only a dollar used and had to grab it.  It was one of the earlier 360 games that came out and I remember it being a pretty cool mech game.

Bwigdahl, putting a mod chip in your PS1 to make it region free isn't that big of a deal if you have low-moderate skills w/ a soldering iron.

It's a PAL game. It can't be played on an American TV. :P

I could swear I've run PAL PS1 games on my NTSC tv before, but maybe I'm hallucinating.  :P

Decided to stop in to a couple gamestops while I was out shopping and came away with two things I'm pretty excited for. I got Cave Story 3D, has case and manual but is missing the slip cover, for $25. I had to jump on that.

At another store I found they were selling Guided Fate Paradox "new" for 20 bucks. Seeing Kenny talk about that game constantly I had to try it out.

You can input the Warcraft keys into a Battle.net account to get a download. Blade Runner and CSI don't need keys, not sure about War of the Ring, and Middle Earth 2's key should be printed in the manual.

Nice finds. Jealous on that DC find. :p

I'll burn a PAL ISO this weekend on try it on my mod chipped PS1. I'm pretty sure it's the console that matters not the CD, cart, disc, etc.

But after I was adamant about "fast loading" on the PS3 and dead wrong I no longer trust myself without verification. ;)

I got Time Commando (PS1) for two bucks, in great shape.

One of these days I'll update my collection here. :p

I had this game back in the day. Definitely a budget-title. His weird punch-attack is almost like a dance, lol.

I got it last year, don't regret it at all. It's so cheesy that it's good.

I picked up Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for the PC today at the good will but I'm a little confused.  I was going to add it to my collection on here; however, the listings have the Mature 17+ and the AO (adult only) one.  Mine does not have either one.  It says (18+) on it with no esrb rating????  Can anyone help me classify it?

Ha, it's like how we found a German version of The Sims donated to a local store today.

For a second, I thought it was some weird spoof game called "Die Sims."

I'm pretty sure it was.  I think its the first one I've ever actually seen, so yeah it's probably going to be pretty hard to find once the Wii becomes a collectible system.

Aside from the blue Wii I picked up, I also got a box of stuff from a fellow collector who's purging his stuff.  So I got a 2600 4 switch, a 2600 Jr. and a 5200!  I've been looking for a 5200 for years and finally have one now.  Unfortunately, there's no controllers and knowing how flaky 5200 controllers are, this is going to be an uphill battle to find some that work and aren't too expensive.

Awesome!  The 5200 has interested me for a while, but it sounds like a lot of work to keep the controllers functional.  I am surprised that nobody has made a better controller for the system.  Plus I don't know where I would put that giant beast  :P  Did you get a two or four controller port system?

While it's certainly not Earthbound for $1 I'm still pretty excited about this deal I came across at the thrift store.

Original XBox with 007 Nightfire in the tray. $9.99.

No hookups but I snagged it as a backup unit. It works perfectly!

You don't need a GameShark. I don't own a GameShark, I have my Xbox modded to play ROMs of the games I own, and it has a proper media player on it.

Don't ask me the details, because I had a buddy do it for me. But all he used was his PC, some software, and a cord connecting the Xbox to his PC.

I soft modded my first one a long time ago because the DVD drive was dying so the only way I could play my games was from the harddrive. I fixed the drive last month (I'm on a roll with restoring old consoles).

His method was more of the direct method. My method required connecting my xbox memory card to the pc and altering the files and adding stuff, then exploiting a game.

I've seen a $10 Xbox at the thriftstore too, but after hearing that so many of them break, I didn't want to take any chances and just left it there. After 3 broken PS2 controllers (which is 100% of the controllers I've bought there), I'd say my luck is on the "broken" side.  :-\

You guys fail to see the true gem in the CD:

MARKY. MARK. ;D

Do you mean that guy who plays in movies and is ashamed he used to be a rapper??   ;) :D

Na, I think that's Ice Cube.  Or was it Ice Tea?  Cherry Flavored Icee?  Iunno.  :P

Pain. The pain that comes every day that I try to hide from my past. The past that keeps hounding me, a moment of weakness brought on by the white avalanche of warmth that flew straight into my nostrils, and compelled me to wear tight underwear as thousands of screaming teenagers tried to get even a glimpse of me. Their wailing crescendos always hounding me. Perhaps becoming the next motion picture superstar will help me ease the pain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Payne_(film)).

... yeah okay I'm not that good of a writer.

While not crazy good deals on these, they were both basically under the general store/ebay pricing from the looks of it.  This brings up my Pokemon game collection to 4 with Sapphire and X.

Okay, after digging info on that PC game to add it to the site, I found out that it was released on PS2 a year earlier as "Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaneer". Has anyone played it?

Today I got Backyard Wrestling 1&2 for XBox, Wave Race Blue Storm for Gamecube, Alex Kidd In The Enchanted Castle for Genesis, Rad Racer II and Legendary Wings for NES and DuckTales for Game Boy!

I also reached a couple personal collection milestones, I reach 140 games for NES and just got 1100 games for my overall collection!

I broke down & bought Diablo 3 for the PS4 tonight.  And wow, that's some really fun couch co-op!  My wife and I had a blast playing it.  They do everything right on the co-op end (automatic gold sharing, loot is flagged for either player 1 or player 2, you share a screen (no split screen) and if one person lags behind it will "warp" them to the other, etc.

Went to a flea market today... most of the video games they had there were at reseller's booths but I found a few things just randomly for pretty cheap. Nothing great at all, but there were a few little things I got that were of some interest.

Ps1 with 1 controller ($6)

And then the guy I got the ps1 from also sold me a little disc folder with the following ps1 games for $6

Twisted Metal 4
Spongebob Supersponge
2Xtreme
Goofy's Fun House
2 copies of Driver
Syphon Filter 3
and then he had a Frogger with the jewel case and everything that he threw in but it ended up having Action Bass inside instead, lol. What I get for not checking beforehand...

there were also randomly 2 PC games in there too
Age of Empires 2 and NHL Hockey

Then on my way home I dropped by a game store I frequent and got

Ps1
Loaded ($8)

Ps2
Dead to Rights ($3)

DS
Glory of Heracles ($8)

All in all nothing awesome, but I got a few things I'd been wanting and didn't end up spending much at the end of the day so I'm happy.

I picked up this mini entertainment center at a thrift store for $10 today.

Soon theflea will be helping me fill the CD tray with more PS1 games. :)

I went on holiday down by the sea very recently, so there were a lot of new charity shops to hit up, and I'm certainly glad I visited them, they had some amazing deals

PS1:

Driver - £1
Driver 2 - £1
Cool Boarders - 69p (incomplete and in a pretty beat up state but you can't really complain at that price)

PS2: All were 75p each

Batman Begins -
Prince of Persia: TSoT
The Simpsons Game
Spider-Man 2

Gamecube:  This is where the 'amazing deals' part comes in, the awesome person at the counter sold them to me for £10 for the lot

Lego Star Wars
Pokemon Channel
Pokemon Colosseum
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
Star Fox Assault

PC (Big box games, all complete)

Freespace 2 - £2
Independence War: Special Edition - Defiance - £1.45
Star Trek TNG: Klingon Honor Guard - £1.45

I swear, every time I'm about to quit going to Goodwill, they change up their prices and actually have some stuff for once lol

PS2 Slim Adapter
PS2 Blue Controller
Sonic Mega Collection
Super Mario Strikers - Sadly missing the game, but this one store lets their empty cases get sold off for cheap and it has all inserts.
Scurge Hive
Cruisin'n Velocity
Super Mario Kart Super Circuit

Funny thing about those two GBA games, they were actually stuffed into that Scurge Hive case for some reason and at no extra cost, so I got two random games and Mario Kart for only 3 bucks lol

Nice finds everyone - dashv, I really like that entertainment center - if you had bought it new I'd be asking where I could get one.  ;)

Here's my haul for the past week:

PS4:
Watch Dogs CE
Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition

PS3:
Time Crisis
Agarest War Zero LE
Tales of Xillia 2 CE guide

PSP:
Ape Escape: On The Loose

DS:
Ghost Trick

(https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5554/15075529146_f2ae3521e4_c.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/oYb2Aj)IMG_4150 (https://flic.kr/p/oYb2Aj)

So the first game in the Agarest series only got a digital release in the US on PS3.  So I'm going to import the UK version so I'll have a physical copy.  Well, the series has a slightly different name in the UK (Agarest: Generations of War, US title is Record of Agarest War) and since I'm anal and want them all to match, I'm gonna just import all three.  :P  I got Zero first because Amazon had the LE for $30 shipped, and I thought that was a pretty good deal.  :)

I got one at a yard sale but don't have the game. Probably never will.
