So I got a bunch if games for Christmas. I recently got a vasectomy, planning on playing them while I recovered.

...but what did I do? I played through the King's Field games and Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past for the umpteenth time.  ::)

That’s what we do when we get old. Don’t waste your precious time on something that might suck. Play what you know is good.

Yeah, I'm appreciating remasters and remakes more as I get older.

After prices went up and the market basically drying up, I had stopped buying Genesis games for quite awhile. My list is mainly special editions or baseball games. I did not put any of the Demo or Game Factory carts on this list.

- Beavis and Butt-Head (big box)
https://vgcollect.com/item/170112
- Captain America and The Avengters (Collector's Pin Inside!)
https://vgcollect.com/item/133742
- Castlevania Bloodlines
- Hardball III (Win a Trip label)
- Mario Lemieux Hockey (Puck Inside)
https://vgcollect.com/item/133739
- Mutant League Hockey
- PGA Tour Golf II (7 Courses / It's In the Game / Limited Edition)
https://vgcollect.com/item/115512
- Quackshot (Sega Quality label)
https://vgcollect.com/item/173175
- R.B.I Baseball 93
- Maximum Carnage box set

Even so some of these are still pretty pricey I can't believe how expensive cib genesis games have shot up in price. So many games are way over what I'm comfortable paying for now.

I don't worry about CIB with Genesis. Cart only is a-okay with me. As long as I have a legitimate copy to play.

Just remembered I also recently got my previous #2 Genesis game via the Genesis Mini 2: Crusader of Centy!

I've been focusing a bit on Sega lately myself. Always was more of a Nintendo/PlayStation guy back then, so I only really paid attention to the big Sega exclusives for a long time. I was lucky enough to get my #1 and #2 Genesis games recently (The Punisher & Thunder Force III).

My top 10:
1. Elemental Master
2. Phelios
3. Sol-Deace
4. Gaiares
5. Whip Rush
6. Fireshark
7. Mega Turrican
8. The Adventures of Batman & Robin
9. The Pirates of Dark Water
10. Road Rash

Shadow of Mordor GOTY is only $5 today on Xbox Marketplace. So I figured for less than the cost of lunch, why not?

Metroid Prime Remastered

It really is more of a faithful remake than a remaster. They put way more into this than just an HD coat of paint. The modern control scheme alone gives it new life (which there was no excuse then why we didn't have it then, it wasn't the 90s). Well worth the $40.

I really need to focus on building my Saturn and TurboGrafx-16 collections up again after losing them some years back.

Best Nintendo Direct in a while! New Metroid released same day! New Zelda trailer. The new Kirby expansion looks fun. And the new Disney Illusion game looks great. And demos!

I've been giving the Mega Man Zero games (playing Zero 1) a try and I'm not sure if the reason people say these games are hard is because of the bosses/levels or because of screen crunch/leaps of faith and enemies shooting at you from off screen. It's reminding me of the GBA version of Mega Man & Bass with these annoyances. The boss fights so far have been fine as long as the boss has stayed on screen where I can see them. The levels in these missions have been disappointing ending so quickly and not being very interesting outside of the occasional enemy shooting at or dropping something on you from off screen.

I'm liking the story, setting, and character designs though. The fact that Zero gets multiple weapons that can be leveled up is pretty neat too.

I really wanted to like the first game. But I got so far and got stuck.

Halo: Infinite was a great exclusive.

And Starfield is the next massive open-world game from Bethesda exclusive to Microsoft platforms.

I'm happy with mine. I've had no problems with mine. Games run and look great on it. And the best part is the backwards compatibility going back to the original Xbox and making most games look and/or run better.

And to clear up an earlier point brought up: Only Series X specific games have to be run on the internal hard drive or from a Series X Expansion Card. An external hard drive will play games directly from it if they are Xbox One, 360, or Original Xbox games.
