Crusader of Centy- Genesis-CIB
Keio Flying Squadron- Sega CD- CIB
Hagane- SNES- CIB
Pocky and Rocky SNES- CIB
Chip and Dale 2- Rescue Rangers- NES- CIB

Umm... what?! I haven't seen what these go for lately, but there's gotta be some serious pennies thrown down for these!  :o

You would definitely be right!  Luckily it wasn't all at once but the purchases were spread out over a calendar year.  I did spend a lot but I also did pay less than market for nearly all of them- probably on average 70-80% VGPC.  Pocky and Rocky was a trade of some games I got for dirt cheap so that helped too.

I've reached the point of collecting where I have almost everything I have ever wanted.  My plan is to have a complete NA CIB retail set for the following systems:

PS1- Done
PS2- 48 games to go
NES- 37 games to go
SNES- 47 games to go
N64- 14 games to go
Virtua Boy- 3 games to go
Genesis- 6 games to go
32X- 1 game to go
Sega CD- Done
Master System- 1 game to go
Sega Saturn- Done
Sega Dreamcast- Done
Atari Jaguar- Done
Atari Jaguar CD- Done
Atari Lynx- 4 to go
3DO- 2 to go
TG-16- 27 to go
TG-CD- 30 to go

In 5 years- I hope to have at least 5 more complete sets done.

In terms of quantity- this is not a lot of games really, but in terms of $$$- it's astronomical so it will be probably something I work toward for the rest of my life.

Otherwise- I'm hoping in 5 years- we move to an even bigger house and I can finally put in custom shelving and build the game room of my dreams.  I have a pretty solid space right now but it's just not quite the right size and I think it could be so much better.

I just realized I never set goals for 2024- whoops.

My goal for 2025 was to finish another set and I have already done that with my acquisition of Keio Flying Squadron to finish my Sega CD set so I guess my goal for this year is to finish another set!

Genesis- 13 left
32X- 2 left
Sega Master System- 1 left
Lynx- 9 left
Atari Jaguar CD- 1 left
N64- 25 left

I'd also love to acquire at least another 20-25 cib each of nes and snes to whittle my list down. And get my wishlist here down to under 75.  I know the majority on here are all about slowing down, purging, etc.. but I'm full steam ahead- I want it all!

I will also have some paternity leave this year so hoping I have some more time to game (after all parental responsibilities are handled- they may be up every few hours but there is also a lot of down time- babies sleep a lot...)

There's no way I can beat 52 games- I beat 12 last year- let's shoot for 20- that's a good stretch goal.

Hey cool- I met all my goals except getting my wishlist down to 75- I finished another set- Atari Jaguar CD, added a ton of cib nes and snes and beat over 20 games.  Sweet!

Categories:

Favorite 2025 Release: Expedition 33- just a masterpiece.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  Gives me hope that modern gaming can continue to innovate and surprise us even still.

Least Favorite 2025 Release: Doom: the Dark Ages- Definitely not a terrible game but such a letdown after Eternal.  It's like all the soul and whimsy present in Eternal was snuffed out for a more by-the-numbers experience.  And the soundtrack sucks....  I was just so bored.  I even messed with the accessibility settings to try to make the game play like eternal and it helped but still not enough to keep playing.  Such a shame.

Favorite Game Played in 2025: Expedition 33- if I had to name another game- Dispatch deserves a mention- if you like the Telltale style of games but wish the writing and gameplay was 10x times better- play this.

Least Favorite Game Played in 2025: Lego Jurassic World- I usually like lego games- and it's been a great gateway series to get my son interested in videogames.  But fuck this game.  Such a glitchy mess- Several times we would get near the end of the level and get softlocked or some other progression bug and we couldn't go forward.  Very frustrating.  But now my wife plays lego games with him and it's all better- I can just play other stuff with him- like Kirby Air Riders- that is much more fun to play with him.

Sleeper Hit of 2025: Skate Story- Anyone who is a fan of 90s skateboarding games and subversive mind trips will find themselves right at home.  Eat the moon!

Favorite Gaming Moment in 2025: More of a series of moments- but my son finally reached a point where he can actually play games with me- and he's improved so much in just a year's time.  We have played co-op Kirby games- forgotten land, return to dreamland deluxe, air riders and more- and a few times he's even beaten me legitimately in a race- just very exciting to see and looking forward to his future development.

Proudest Collection Accomplishment of 2025: I completed the 3DO Softcore Adult Series all w/ slipcovers or big boxes- including Mind Teazzer which is just about impossible to find with the large outer box.  Seems silly but it might be in the top 5 of rarest and craziest items in my collection.  A local reseller friend of mine bought out a collection and gave me first dibs.  He really did me a solid.  If I can ever track down a complete long box copy of Dino Park Tycoon- I have a realistic path to actually finishing the 3DO NA retail set- which would be incredible.  Goals for 2026 and beyond!

I'm late to posting too- finally have been able to get some time off from work and get caught up.

Thanks to my Secret Santa for helping me get ever closer to the complete ps2 set.  I'm down to just 49 games.

I also really enjoyed that my SS had a theme with their selections- the plan was to find a game from my list whose title starts with a letter in my name- nick.

n- nicktoons
i- IGPX
c- Carol's Sudoku
K- Konami Kids Playground- Frogger

Very clever!

Glad we had another successful year!

I'd appreciate if the shipping date would be December 5th for Domestic U.S. people.  Black Friday is when all my local game stores have sales and often solid inventory for the holidays so it's the best chance to find something locally or take advantage of great sales online.  December 5th gives enough time so that if I do order something that requires shipping- it will likely arrive by then if ordered the week before.  Hopefully the 5th would not interfere with persons trying to do a group opening event later in the month.

If he paid sticker price- no that's about market price if not a few bucks higher- but if he was able to do a bundle deal- then he probably did ok.

Thanks to my Secret Santa for doing a fantastic job!  I'm really close to a complete North American retail library of Sega Genesis games and now I'm 3 games closer (18 to go).  I know I'm not easy to buy for so I really appreciate my Secret Santa going out of their way to get games off my wishlist.

Also am glad to see my recipient is happy with their package too.  Seems like another successful year! Thanks again for dhaabi doing an amazing job organizing this great event!

It should be automatic.

Your profile also says you don't have any edits. DB backend confirms this. Have you never actually edited an item before?

I don't know how that could be true- I've edited several items and even added a few new listings over the years.  Hell- I submitted some edits a few weeks ago that I worked out with dhaabi for the Ishido/ou series.

I can't explain the name thing- I just created a username 7+ years ago- until you pointed out the capitalized name- I didn't even notice that mine was and most others are not.

This might be an embarrassing question but how do you get badges? I also have over 4k games and I don't have a badge.  My profile says I have no badges.
