« on: August 05, 2026, 07:56:18 pm »Okay so here's my biggest complaint about the original Switch and I don't know if it was changed for the Switch 2. I don't know like anybody really cares about this as much as I do, but I don't understand why you can't just turn the system off. It can only be put in sleep mode, which is stupid for a portable system. It means that if you're taking the Switch on a trip, it's steadily losing battery life at all times, even if you aren't playing it.
My wife's Switch Lite is always 100% dead if she wants to play it because, unless you leave that thing on a charger 24/7, it's going to lose battery over time. I don't know what they were thinking.
You hold the power button, which brings up the option to power it off completely, that's what I always do for mine and you can do this when docked or not docked.
Wow, I didn't know you could do that. *facepalm* haha
Something else to note if a game/ the console completely freezes, just hold down the power button for I believe 10 or so seconds and the system will completely reboot. Personally haven't had to use that since early on in the Switch's life but still good to know.
