Modern Video Games / LEGO Marvel

So I received this game for Christmas on the Wii U, and have a few questions before I open it. I heard about how there is some DLC for it, but it only appears to be for the other platforms. Is it actually available for Wii U or not?  Also, are there any major differences between the different versions?  I'm leaning towards exchanging it for a 360 copy.

Hardware and Tech / New tv.

My Mom is moving to a new, smaller place, and has no room for her flat screen plasma tv, so she said I could have it for free. Now, I've heard that plasma tv's are no good for gaming, but I'm not sure why. I've owned a lot of tv's over the years, but they have all been sd crt's, so I have no idea what I'm in for. Anyone care to fill me in?

Classic Video Games / Any real point in having a PS2 hard drive?

Today, I found a used 40GB PS2 hard drive at a local game store for $10. I don't necessarily want to mod my console to play backups or anything like that. Am I correct in assuming that it would act like a giant memory card?  Is that the only benefit in having one?

General / K'NEX Mario Figures

Does anyone collect these?  I found out over the weekend that they came out with a new set.  The first series was based on Mario Kart Wii, and the new set is based on New Super Mario Bros Wii.  There doesn't appear to be any building sets associated with the new series, just figures.  I've only seen them at Toys R Us and Target.

I got an email last night from Microsoft saying that for two days (Nov 15-16) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of XBOX Live, this Kinect game is free.  Might want to jump on it if you like free stuff.

Ok, I know this is a little weird, but I'm looking for one of the original straps that came with the launch Wii's, you know, before the redesign when people were throwing remotes through windows and breaking TV's and whatnot.

I'd really like to pick this one up.  It's going to be a while until I get enough Club Nintendo points, and the ones I do have are starting to expire anyway.  I've been bidding on them on eBay, but I keep getting outbid at the last second by like 12¢.  If anyone has one for sale, or wants to give me a bunch of Club Nintendo points, let me know.

What do you guys think about blogs in general?  Are they a waste of time and bandwidth?  Do people still read them?  I'm considering starting one, but I'm not sure that I'm interesting enough.

Site Feedback / Virtual Console vs. Nintendo eShop

It seems that someone has been adding the same games to both of these categories, and before I go changing stuff I want some clarification.  Is there a separate 3DS Virtual Console, or should these all go under Nintendo eShop?  I was under the impression that the Virtual Console was only a Wii thing.  Here's a few examples of what I mean:

Modern Video Games / XBOX 360 Help

So my wife bought me the Star Wars XBOX 360 bundle for Star Wars day yesterday, and being more of a retro gamer, I have no clue as to what games I'd like to get.  Can anyone suggest a few relatively inexpensive games that are fun?   I like platformers and action games primarily.
