After playing around on the Retrotron: 1984 and having a real 4 way stick to play dk, galaga and frogger with. I think it'll be time to do some upgrades to the SHMUP and swap the current 8 way sticks for switching 4/8 way sticks. Of course, I'll have to get my PC back first.

Check this out.  It looks pretty cool

Ya I read about that. It looks pretty sweet and I wonder how well it works.

I'm also looking at some manual switching joys at the moment through a parts dealer I normally buy from that would work well for me too. And since my control panel top pops off easy it wouldn't be a problem getting underneath to switch it back and forth.

Since this is the anything goes thread I guess I should post in here.

My father in law died on Friday. He was only 54 but he has been sick for at least 7 years. It is the closest death that I have had to work through and it has been really hard on my wife. He was a miserable bastard, as he would describe himself, but he did love his grandson. We have to wait until this Friday before we can have the funeral due to what little family he has, that got along with him, having to travel out here. It will be a very weird Christmas since we used to go over to his house to have dinner/open presents.

I just wanted to vent for a minute so thanks guys.

It always sucks to lose someone (regardless of miserable bastard or not) so I feel for ya.

My sympathies... It's tough to lose anyone at anytime, but it can be especially difficult during the holidays.  Thinking of you and your family during this time.

Sorry man, I know that can be tough. My best friend lost his father to a heart attack several years ago. He was also in his 50s.

I fully expect to see one of our users on an episode of Hoarders. Who will it be?

Hey! That remark resembles me!

I'm pretty much not a hoarder though.

Pretty close. Of course it's not all games though. I did the math a few days ago, but forget what I came up with for games only.
