It's made by the guys who made Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, so it does sound pretty interesting to me. It actually looks a bit similar to those.

@darko weren't you the one who initially put up the video about P4A back in September?  There's lots of gameplay vids up on the 'nets now that it's already out in Japan.  But I agree with you about initial hesitancy...  However, It looks so good... I don't even like fighting games, but I'm sure I'll have to pick this one up at some point to add to my SMT collection.  Not sure about $60 preorder though...

Ha...pretty sure I did. The game looks okay from the videos but I'm still a little iffy. I don't know if it's because I'm really picky about fighting games or if it's because I can't really imagine a fighting game with Persona characters. Either way I'll probably end up owning it.

The special moves do look cool.

I have to say I agree with your friend.  Easily one of my favorite series.

I think the fact that we've had multiple threads on SMT:P should've told you that!  I started on Persona 3 FES and was completely blown away from the start.  But it's up for debate about which Persona is the best to start with.  I still say #3.

Which Persona game to start with? I'd put another vote on 3. While I liked 4 more, 3 is an excellent game and I'm glad I started with it!

Another vote for 3 here! I liked 4 a lot but I don't think they'll ever have another character that can come close to Junpei. I used to have "Good EEEEVENNING. Welcome to Junpei's Believe It or Don't!" as my voicemail notification...the voice acting was so perfect.
