Classic Game Party
« on: August 09, 2013, 05:16:42 am »
My friend is throwing a Cos-Play/Gaming party and wanted me to host a Classic Game Party, So we got several TV's playing nothing but retro game systems and I put up a display of some of my console collection. People are coming dressed up as characters from video games, movies, comics, cartoons you name it. lol

I just spent the last 8 hours packing up, transporting  and setting up a basement full of classic game consoles.

She decided to throw this party when we found out that the Chicago Comic-Con was charging $60 now just to get in, and most of the our group couldn't afford to go. Last year is was like $35 and before that it was like $25 to get in for one day now its $60? geez and that doesn't cover parking, signings, events, panels those all cost extra. I used to take $200 and still walked out with a bags full of goodies. Now I'd be broke before I even hit the vendors.

At least at this party people can drink.  ;)
I'll try and post some pic's of the game set up later.
"Happy game hunting!!!"

I'd love to do something like that, but I'd be the only one to show up.

I'd like to hear the titles you brought along.  Looking back at our
"Retro Multiplayer Games" thread, we didn't do a very good job of highlighting multiplayer titles.

We're gonna have a contest of a Pac-Man Marathon playing most every version of Pac-Man from Atari 2600 to an arcade version on a newer console, The person with the highest added up score from all versions wins this custom cart that was made just for this.

We already ran the first night of gaming and the games that where big hits for multiplayer where..

Pretty much anything I put in my Neo Geo MVS custom arcade console. lol
That system was pretty much played all night.

The NES people played
Battletoads (lots of swearing going on people playing that game) lol
Contra
Duck Hunt (the ladies loved this game)

SNES
Mario Kart
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV
Mortal Kombat II

After we got done with gaming we played Cards Against Humanity.
If you never played this game then do your selves a favor and buy this game and play it at a party with a bunch of people.
This game is so wrong on so many levels and you'll be laughing so hard from the crazy cards people play

Tonight we do the Pac-Man tournament.  :)
