Not the same, mine are display boxes with no barcode

That needs to be more explained, now it's just duplicates, change the name to add that or something.

Ive put it in the description., but you only go by title.

I just wonder how long a title can get to make it different. And a longer title doesnt help in the search.

Editted another title few days back to show the difference in the boxes and that edit got denied.

I often see dupes uploaded by the user who uploaded both these dupes (sacredpoptart), and his entries don't respect the title guidelines (proper placement of "The" and ":", for example). Would it be bad to send him a friendly request/reminder to read the guide on the forum?

I think you might have meant Arkham City, as I had posted Arkham Asylum in my last post :) But I indeed missed City there.

Yeah nah, I'm drawing a line somewhere. I don't want this place looking like discogs with umpteen different versions for each entry, especially when the entry was just for the display box (and therefore wouldn't belong in the PSP section).

... you realize that no barcode versions are valid variants, right? IF the game was released like that as a promotional version, for example, it counts. If they're display boxes only with no games then that's another thing.

We document freakin' variants of games where the only difference is the placement of a logo. Those variants could've counted.

Regarding those GTAs:

We DO want listings for all variations. It looks like those ones shouldn't have been merged unless I'm missing something. Variation should be a part of the title.

/EDIT - where they games or just boxes? confused a bit here.

The entries said (display box), so it's safe to assume that they were just a store's display box.

I'd say, if it's a valid release with a disc in it, it would count as a variant. If it's a promotional box art in an empty case (like what GameStop uses to sell preorders), then that would not be a variant of the game and doesn't really belong.

The spirit of VGC is to catalog every version of every game out there.

Our goal is to eventually house the largest and most accurate video game database on the Internet. Each listing includes box art, descriptions, item numbers and more. We cater to the hardcore collectors by creating an individual listing for every known variation. Does one game have a few box art variations? We'll list them separately so you can be a thorough as possible with tracking your collection.

If we are unsure about an entry we should try to research it before jumping on the merge button.
