CoD Warzone is such a rough game to try and get back into lol I tried once a little bit ago, but with the new PC I thought I would try abit more, but I don't know if I can.  I am generally fine with the gun mechanics, but CoD has become so bad with its movement.  I remember liking the game back with MW2019, they overhauled stuff, it felt good, but I think the sweats complained too much and now I just watch people tac sprint into a room, slide, and then start bunny hopping about as they melt me.  It's so goofy.  I know I need to "git gud", I'm out of practice with shooters like this, but that combined with how many pickups they put out in lootboxes that I have no idea what they do and they don't have a way to look things up, is kind of annoying, like they aren't really thinking of new or returning players at all.

Of course things are about to get even worse with Black Ops 6, turning Dolphin Diving into an active mechanic, which is such a baffling thing to do and the sweats are gonna abuse the crap out of it.  I might just try and play through this upcoming spooky season they got and probably be done with CoD.  I really need a shooter I can be happy with, I'm jumping out between things like older Battlefield, I tried PUBG again, I'm trying this, I played abit of The Finals, and nothing is hitting right.  Need something new to come out that is abit on the slower side.

If any of you are sleeping on

DAVE THE DIVER

Allow me to be your alarm clock.

Think sim city elements where you use earned money to upgrade recipes and ammenities of an ever expanding sushi bar. Complete with farming and pre planning.

Think if you took that and added rpg elements such as weapon leveling, xp, call logs and location warp traveling.

Now think add action platforming elements where you explore the deep blue ocean at day and run a sushi bar by night. Almost ecco the dolphin meets metroid.

Now ask yourself. How much would you pay?

FREE ON PS PLUS EXTRA

You have been deliciously made aware. I love you so much. Its gonna be ok.

Played a short bit of Gigabash and can't say I liked it a whole lot.  It's not a bad game in the slightest, but despite being about giant monsters and Godzilla, it's kinda basic and doesn't do a lot for me.  I think I just want something more like the PS2 era Godzilla games, camera is brought in some more, more chunkiness to the monsters, that sort of thing than these more top down arena battlers.  I'm sure this game is fine if you got some folks for couch play, but not something I want to put the time into solo, which is a bummer.  I think some of my issue is that the health pools are pretty small, so you can kinda get melted or take out enemies fairly fast, feeling like you were barely in the match.  Oh well, I'll get a new Godzilla game someday (Only 10 years and counting right now lol)

I discover the very first Final Fantasy with FF Pixel Remaster.

The soundtrack of the FF are really magical no matter the opus, I love the chaos shrine or western keep OST.

too bad it's poor quality

Edit FF3 : it's great the aircraft that transforms into both a boat and a plane
not bad at all the spells to change into a gnome and a toad, it's original
we can really see the evolution of each FF between that and the classes

(Spoil) - Impressive the city that emerges after releasing the water crystal.
The tornado was also well done in FF2.
I don't know if it was already like that at the time but it must have been quite impressive and revolutionary.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster - Wasn't planning to jump into this out of the game, but my zombie love and nostalgia for this goofy old game got the better of me.  So far it's been great in the first two hours, I guess some people on PC are having some optimization issues, but my new PC is relatively high end and it's running way better than I expected honestly with how some games can be these days.

I think this balances things between a standard remaster with some upscaled textures and a full on remake like Resident Evil 4, where the visuals are a huge upgrade while keeping the art style in tact (Everyone is just a little cartoonish in proportions and such), but it's functionally the same game in terms of content and story.  I probably would've overall preferred a proper remake, seamless map, new content, etc, but this is also very decent.  It is a little weird to go back to due to where the sequels go, particularly the weapon combining feature, but it's still a quality zombie action game.  Gonna have some fun with this for sure.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine - With the new one out, I realized I never fully played the original, only a couple hours back in the day.  Definitely interesting to go back to, this game meant to be kinda in line with the feel of Gears of War, just without the cover combat.  Maybe I'm just spoiled by certain games nowadays, but this game does not have the same level of chunky action that I think even Gears had.  It's a close approximation for sure, but something about the audio and such isn't as punchy.  I think some of it from me playing about of that throwback styled W40k: Boltgun and how satisfying that game can be.

Also, this might just be and I know there are Space Marines that go around without a helmet, but all I want is for Titus to get a helmet.  The full suit of armor is exactly what I want to see lol It's a weird negative to have, but if you have cool armor, I want it worn as much as possible.  But should be a chill time, haven't done this sort of action shooter in a little bit.

*EDIT* Found out there's a mod that lets me slap a helmet on Titus, all is good lol

I love the battle theme and Matoya's Cave theme the most. Nobuo Uematsu is my favourite game music composer. Very sad he didn't compose the soundtracks from FF X-2 on ... a lot of the franchise's magical appeal left Square with him  :-[

Besides Koji Kondo, Uematsu is one of the great RPG-music composers of their era.

I just finished Final Fantasy Origins on PlayStation with 2 saves each (easy and normal difficulty), all in 100%. That's for the start of my project to play every Final Fantasy game I own. With Final Fantasy Legend (GameBoy) also already finished I now put my eyes on

Final Fantasy Anthology (PlayStation)
Starting with IV ... already have Cecil become a Paladin and leveling my magical team on the foot of mt. Hobbs and outside of Mysidia...

and, as a little side-game for short sessions:
Sonic the Hedgehog (SEGA Game Gear)
Already finished it's original for master system, but also wanted to beat the GG-port of it ...

I'm hoping on finishing Final Fantasy IV quickly for it's my 3rd. 100%-playthrough of this game in a lifetime and I'm eager to play Final Fantasy V again, completing it this time !  8)

my PS1-Memory Card "Final Fantasy" is slowly being filled with completed saves  :P teehee...

Been looking forward to Dragon Ball Sparking Zero as I use to be a huge fan of the Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichai games back in the day.  Haven't really loved any of the DB games since those days really, others were okay, but generally all rather middling/fine (Xenoverse/Kakarot) or were good, but weren't a huge appeal for me (FighterZ).  This game does a decent job getting back the feel of the old games with an all visual sheen to it.  This game is very aggressively challenging lol They teach you like 20% of what you can do and then just toss you into the deep end.  Really need to go do the tutorials.

I think the story stuff is a mixed bag so far, like it's a super cliffnotes take on the story, which isn't a huge deal for anyone who's played a DB game because all they do is rehash the anime in these games, but it's shortened up a lot and while it feels like they tried to put a lot of work into the game in like presentation and such, there's a lot of just dialogue reading when it feels like there should be a narrator to add a little favor, but he only shows up in story arc ends.

The hook for this is that they have "what if" story stuff throughout, so like you choose to help Piccolo and the Androids against first form Cell instead of waiting for Vegeta and Trunks to come out of the chamber, you go there, get into a big fight with the Androids and Tien helping you take out Cell, and then you fight the Androids, and you get a slight alternate ending.  It's not a lot, it's not like you'll keep progressing the story and this affects something in the Majin Buu saga, it's just a light bonus for the knowledgeable fans, getting to see interactions you normally don't if you know the story as a fan.

That's what this game is overall, a game for the fans.  Dump as many characters as possible into one game, let people fight.  It's not a game I'd recommend to non-fans otherwise.  It's one of those games where it's probably a 6 or 7/10 to most folks, but at least an 8/10 for fans lol

I'm discovering SH2R for the first time with the remake and I have to say that it's my favorite of the year with space marine 2

I never played the original but looking at comparisons, they clearly sublimated the game with this remake.
The bosses have been redone as well as the puzzles and it's still better that way. More interesting puzzles. Some bosses are not as memorable, apart from abstract daddy but it's much better. I have the impression that the enemies are also much more aggressive than in the OG.

You can quickly find yourself surrounded by 2 or 3 enemies.
the design of the monsters is very creepy, special mention to (spoiler) Angela's father... this part was touching.

There is a little more length, many back and forths that can be painful. The pattern / structure of the game is almost always the same, even a little repetitive but that never stopped me from having fun on the game.

The game is very scary, there is a huge pressure. I was always on edge, because some enemies can appear out of nowhere.
The music and sound design are incredible.

The details are also very impressive, visually speaking.
The rusty, dirty, dilapidated sets, there are details on the walls and the floor...
I can't imagine the work they must have put into that.

I loved all the places we visited, the prison being the most scary.
But what I enjoyed even more was the psychological part of the game in which the characters live their own nightmare and the city is in some way their subconscious / purgatory.
The part in the "other world" is awesome.

I hope this remake will have the success it deserves.

Needed a break from Dragon Ball, while I was initially more on board with the game, the more I play the game, the more I get kinda annoyed with its sluggish menus and AI that goes from brutally hard to sometimes just...stopping, it's weird.  The difficulty can get so tough sometimes and I know you can bump the difficulty down after failing, but it's just kinda unsatisfying to have to do.

Instead, decided to finally jump into Alan Wake 2 to get something that fits the seasons, been meaning to do it for awhile now, bought it half off forever ago, but was waiting till I got my new PC.  This series isn't a favorite, I thought the first one was overall okay, loved the spinoff Control, and I'm hoping AW2 is kinda the best combination of both of those.  So far a decent start, nice and creepy, building mystery, interested to see where it goes.
