Ended up playing a few playtests/betas lately, been fortunate to get into them, half good, half not really lol
There was another playtest for Wild Assault, furry Battlefield/COD styled third person shooter with hero characters, I had played it once before and kinda thought it was okay, but this one felt like it had way more bots and then AI voicework is obnoxious and the game itself is just kinda bland. They also brought the playtest back with not a lot of changes I saw, same boring map and one extra character. Didn't play for long, will most likely skip this game in the future.
Then I played Marvel Rivals, only a beta and I already said my piece about it in another post, but it's Marvel Overwatch and it was pretty fun. Probably will play it once it's fully released.
Then I got into the Delta Force: Hawk Ops playtest. The main mode is Havoc Warfare and it's a Battlefield knockoff, but a pretty weak one. This one also had a lot of bots on it which was really annoying and even compared to the current state of Battlefield 2042, it doesn't look or play nearly as well. The hero shooter-like Operators are worse than BF2042 Specialists, I hate just constantly seeing people through smoke and walls and such with peoples wall hack abilities. It's okay, it's F2P and it does have the extraction mode and Black Hawk Down throwback, but I was pretty unimpressed. Gonna skip this, I'd rather play BF2042 and it's like the worst BF game lol
And today, got the Mecha Break playtest. The easiest way to put it is if Armored Core was turned into a more streamlined hero shooter. You have different mechs with their unique abilities, generally setup into different playstyles, you can mod your mech to boost different things while sacrificing other stats, there's pretty significant pilot customization along with some mech customization, at least paint wise, it's not bad. Still a lot to learn, but it seems interesting. Has that somewhat quicker style gameplay, not nearly as aggressive as like Armored Core, but similar vibes.
