Hey if I have to suffer then so does everyone else! What's worse (for me) is that the US got a freebie promo/sampler disc for Lament of Innocence and it's got all my favourite tracks on it :(

It's generally sort-of moody orchestral sort of stuff, but exceptions abound. If you've really only heard a little of the Symphony of the Night soundtrack I strongly recommend listening to -

Dracula X Chronicles
Portrait of Ruin
Castlevania 64
Lament of Innocence
and the arrange album "Dracula New Classic"

Let me know what you think!

Sounds like something that I'd like -but- I'll definitely let you know what I think once I've had a chance to listen to some more of those!

That's a really nice Castlevania collection, Scott...how long would you say it took you from start to finish (just the Castlevania collection, again)?

That's a really nice Castlevania collection, Scott...how long would you say it took you from start to finish (just the Castlevania collection, again)?

I've always loved Castlevania games and have been playing them since the NES days. The 1st one I ever bought myself was Symphony of the Night -Greatest Hits, but I didn't start searching for them all until after I saw some info on Dawn of Sorrow and pre-ordered it. I loved that game as much as I did SotN and it planted the seed. Around that time I bought a NES from Matt with it all 3 NES games.

That was 2005 and I started collecting CIB disc based games and loose cart based games. I got in on games like Belmont's Revenge and Legends before the cart only version was spendy. And the same with Castlevania Chronicles, I think I only paid $15 for it and it's pretty mint. I actually got some pretty slick deals on my original collection and for awhile I was happy with it. I didn't start going for CIB everything until after we started up VGCollect and I saw forte and madmax's Mega Man and Final Fantasy collections... So about 2 years ago? So I guess I've been working on the Castlevania collection for 8 or so years? But it only took me 2 or so years to polish off the games I needed CIB.

Oh yeah - my 2nd question was asking if you now own *every* Castlevania game *OR* if there might have been some foreign releases/import only ones that you might not have bothered with/worried about.

Oh ya.

So other games I would like to eventually add to the collection:

Vampire Killer (MSX2)
Haunted Castle (Arcade)
Castlevania - PlayChoice10 (Arcade)
VS. Castlevania (Arcade)
Castlevanie: The Arcade (Arcade)

Of course the arcade games would just be the boards. I wouldn't go for full cabs.

Some of my biggest achievements in collectings:

1. Acquiring some of the rarer consoles like TurboGrafx-16, Sega Saturn, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Sega CD (and then having my Sega CD stop wanting to read discs  >:( )

2. Some of my more rare games (nothing too special, though):
-Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1)
-The Dungeons & Dragons Anthology: The Master Collection (PC)
-The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (Gamecube) - Not sure why exactly, but this one is expensive now.
-Mega Man: Legends (PS1)
-Parasite Eve (PS1)
-Radiant Historia (NDS) - Soon to be sold.
-Resident Evil 2: Dual-Shock Edition (PS1)
-Splatterhouse (TG-16)

3. I'm so very close to 500 games. Like only 3 titles to go.

4. I own the entire Super Mario series up to Super Mario Galaxy:
-Super Mario Bros. 1-3 (NES)
-Super Mario World (SNES)
-Super Mario All-Stars (SNES)
-Super Mario Land 1-3 (Game Boy)
-Super Mario Advance 1-4 (GBA)
-Super Mario 64 (N64)
-Super Mario Sunshine (Gamecube)
-New Super Mario Bros. (DS)
-New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
-Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

Well, all of them except Super Mario Deluxe (GBC) and Classic Mario Bros. (NES). And I don't own a Wii U or 3DS, yet.

I can now add Bucky O' Hare to my list of rarities.  8)

Loved that game as a kid, and didn't realize that it had gotten so high in value.

Congrats on 50! Game gear is one of the many systems that I feel like I should own more games for :)

Wow, 50! That's impressive.

I think there may be 30, tops, that I'd want. I have about 10 now.
