Sega Genesis has some good RPGs, not nearly as many as Nintendo, but the Phantasy Star series have some great storytelling.
Sega was definitely more mature than Nintendo, I don't know where you heard it was for a younger audience.  Nintendo didn't even allow blood in their Mortal Kombat port.

I can't help you on the Hentai angle, but there are some nice scantily clad women on a few covers...

...

Anyhoo, I recommend Sega Genesis, since it's games might be the most affordable

genesis ain't only the most affordable but in terms of quality it's by many considered the best. not to mention that the affordable games as in less than 20$ on other sega systems are usually far and few in between in terms of good.

If where talking scantily clad women, you'd definitely want to go japanese saturn tons of cheap games in that department to. japanese saturn lots are filled to the brim with these kinds of games it seems. I'm not to sure if I could call them games though.

also sometimes some actual decent games with those features such as steam hearts but that one is actually pretty pricy.

I don't know why the topic starter seeks out sega consoles for that kinda stuff it's there but i think some decent internet on pc might give way better results than going through the hassle with japanese saturn.

Don't worry sooner or later I will get even more into pc gaming & leave consoles & console censorships

In my own collecting experience SEGA Genesis is the most common console to find games and systems for in my local area. SEGA Saturn and Dreamcast and even the Master System is extremely hard to find, in my local area, and I have a lot of gaming sources to choose from in my local area. and for the record Nintendo 64 had some violent and adult games too. I know Nintendo, has more of a reputation for a younger or family friendly audience,

But,.... Duke Nukem Zero Hour is a Nintendo 64 exclusive. and it's vary violent because you can blow the heads off enemies as well as blow a hole right through their body, Duke Nukem Zero hour is even more violent than most Call Of Duty games.

in short Every console has violence as well as family friendly games.

Also Duke Nukem Zero Hour for the Nintendo 64 has some porn hidden throughout some of the levels. too, so it's an adult game for sure

Dreamcast and US Saturn have a large financial hurdle to climb if you want to play anything besides sports games. Japanese Saturn is fine but you have to figure out 2 things:
1. Finding a working Japanese Saturn and then the various required accessories for it.
2. Have to learn Japanese

For the language issue, there are some games you can get away with not knowing how to read Japanese as the menus are in English. These are typically the sports games that had US/EU releases. You can get away with Fighting games because the menus are wasy to figure out. Anything beyond that, such as RPGs or anything more complex, you won't be able to get by with just Katakana knowledge. Some games you are doing to need to know Hiragana and the other one. One example is that if you can't read Hiragana, and have not played the English version of Magic Knight Rayearth, you won't be able to play the Japanese version because of the menus.

However, if you aren't concerned with having to hunt down physical games, you can get a Saturn or Dreamcast (any model) and then TerraOnion's MODE, which is an ODE that installs to either console and can play any region games.

The Genesis is the best bet for compatibility, if you want to be able to play Master System games then you'll need a Power Base Converter. Genesis games are a lot easier to find in the secondary market than Saturn or Dreamcast, and usually at lower prices. As for which model, that is usually up to debate, but I tend to prefer the Model 1.

I would not recommend a power base converter tons of quality games ain't compatible

Just get a master system model 1 or even the inferior model 2 if you have to.

The "incompatible" games work fine on the Power Base Converter if you get an actual Master System controller, which are compatible on a Genesis. I own Wonder Boy in Monster Land and the converter, speaking from experience. Had to buy a SMS controller and it fixed the issue.

no they won't allot of games don't even boot up or crash pretty early.

I've seen this across multiple of the same copies of great games with multiple power base converters.

on a master system console works perfectly every time, doesn't matter what controller is inserted if where talking powerbase, wich I naturally have tried since I'm aware of that list

Your only talking about the games with controller issues those boot up normally but just won't control well withouth a master system controller. I'm talking games that never work and the lists for these seem non existent since power base converters are so rare.

yes allot of games work, but allot of good games don't work, seems to me that the 16 bit genesis lacks something even with the power base converter. it's kinda annoying. 15% of the library might not work.

I assure you, if you want to play master system games don't waste your money on a powerbase converter. it's a nice collectible nothing more nothing less. a ton of games work but a sizable chunk including pretty solid titles won't work at all.

believe me I have had tons of master system games and multiple power base converters. it's compatibility is trash.

I don't know how pricy master system consoles are in the US. but in europe even a model 1 is far cheaper than a lose rare power base converter

It's not hard to find a list at all, literally took 2 seconds on Google. Every game on that list except 2 (Alien 3 and F-16), are a controller issue:

I have seen that list countless times, that's just for controller issues. that's not the list of games that actually don't work not to mention, aside from wonderboy not superbly good titles that are missed imo.

Just to name your wonderboy example wich does work perfectly fine on the powerbase.

if you where to boot that game up with a 16 bit controller it would run fine. the only problem is that your character will be running to the left and right superbly fast in wich you can't play the game your character would look broken thanks to a controller error.

The game has already been booted up however, once you swap controller to 8bit you can play it perfectly fine.

I'm talking about actually non functional games wich don't boot up no matter what. black screen. and I'm talking multiple copies of the same game on different power base converters most of wich where boxed. on an actual master system console zero issues.

just my 2 cents over the years. I'm glad I have both options available to me but the powerbase converter is imo a let down at times. considering it's price especially in europe I don't see why anyone would get a powerbase instead of a cheaper master system console.

No, it's not just controller issue list. It literally names the only 2 games that have compatibility issues that aren't controller issues.

No, it's not just controller issue list. It literally names the only 2 games that have compatibility issues that aren't controller issues.

in my experience there are far more games with actual non controller incompatibility issues than that list. it's not only alien 3 and f falcon if it was just those 2 games I would give zero shits since I'm not that interested in those 2 particular titles.

I seek that list up every time i come across a game that doesnt work on the powerbase converter and be a bit annoyed that there is so little info on the net. I wish that list was accurate. and i thought maybe my game or hardware was faulty. but like I said I tested multiple copies of those games that aren't on the list on multiple power base converters. so you could see why I don't like the power base converter to much. obviously zero issues on actual master system console. and yea sure most games work perfectly but it's not a space saver if not all good titles work and you still need original hardware to play them

But again just my experience.
