Original: https://vgcollect.com/item/3317
Duplicate: https://vgcollect.com/item/247459

These items are not the same, so I've updated both entries accordingly. Here is the original art submitted to 247459.

I put on the Final Fantasy XVI Pre-order Steelbook and a duplicate has been made:
Original - https://vgcollect.com/item/247670
Duplicate - https://vgcollect.com/item/247676

I see the Duplicate has details on being sealed with a sticker but that seems hardly necessary to have two listings of the same item.

Also, I posted an image of the inside on my listing whcih has been removed, I have re-posted it and don't see why it shouldn't be there.

Unless 247670 shares the same barcode label, the two entries are not the same. I could not confirm any sealed copies online, however. There are plenty of entries within the database which the only difference relates to labels, and these separate items are no different.

Do not submit artwork of a game case's interior without a disc. It has never been allowed. Even with a disc, those kind of images are low quality. Do not repeatedly submit edits after they have been given reason for rejection.

From the Item Images post of the style guide:

Quote
Cart art slot for physical Games, Consoles and Accessories
The third art slot, refered to as "cart-art" or cart/disc/item, must be of game or item iteself and not include additional items in the picture. For example, an add-on for a console should not also show the console. A game should show the cart, disk or disc image and not additional packaging. If there are multiple discs, they can be present. Discs should not be shown in the case, but on their own. Image quality rules prevail, we will allow a low quality image if being used as proof of existance.

Before we had a Steelbooks catagory, I thought that made sense. But now we have a seperate catagory for Steelbooks alone wouldn't it make sesne to display the interiror if it featured unique artwork?  Because if the disc for the game was inclulded it would be a certain Edition not just a steelbook and wouldn't be in this catagory.

As for the barcode, none of the GAME Steelbooks came sealed, I watched the colleague at GAME open a box of them and none of them were sealed but it is the same item and does not need 2 listings.

Until some specific rule is agreed upon for that type of image submission being allowed as an exception to the Steelbooks sub-category, they should not be submitted and be reported for removal, if found.

I had the presumption the EU copies were all unsealed since eBay UK lists numerous entries, all loose. Whether you believe the item should only have one entry is your opinion, but both entries will remain because they are not the same.

It is wrong, some GAME steelbooks do have a seal with just a barcode label. It is possible they are overstock items that GAME later sells on their own, I don't know the difference.

Please merge these Axiom Verge 2 listings, it seems this game only ever had a Windows release on Epic and Steam.

Same with these, I think?

Kindly recreate entry that was merged with 220787

It is not the same.  The Merged 220787 entry is the LRG store release with the slipcover, the Entry I submitted is the retail release without a slipcover.

You provided a generic entry without artwork. If there are differences that were unbeknownst to me, then provide some kind of discerning information to other fields like Item Number, Barcode, and Description to avoid issues like this. If you know there is already an existing entry, providing some kind of entry name descriptor to at least one of the two entries should also be done instead of naming them the same.

I submitted artwork, but it showed up as no image, so I resubmitted a new image.
I never submit any other info in fields because ya'll always erase it or say it's wrong.
The entry with the slipcover should have the descriptor, not the standard entry
It's pretty irresponsible to delete/merge entries without doing research, this is a huge reason why the site should have a method of notifying users when items in their collection have been deleted/merged.

Don't have to put that much thought into it. Any entry in PC Digital Download that does not have in Description where the game is from, will get merged with the same release that is in a named PC digital category (Steam, Epic, Gog)

The only difference between the two items seems to be that one released with a slipcover as the outer layer. Since most DB staff do not own the items they are responding edits to, they must rely on available online resources such as classified listings which extremely limits our research capability. With that acknowledged, anyone would agree that not all eBay listings sell complete items. For the existing eBay listings, any one of them which does not include the slipcover could simply be listed incomplete. The keepcases seem to be the same, but I can't really verify that information due to the limited number of ongoing listings. Additionally, the item pages on Limited Run Games's and Amazon's websites feature stock art and routinely do not provide valuable information for our purposes.

Like I said, one of the two entries at minimum should be given an entry name descriptor. So, if a new entry is submitted, 220787 should probably be given a (slipcover) descriptor. Like I said, submitting generic entries like this only creates problems. Contrary to what you may believe, staff do not replace or remove objective information like Item Number and Barcode details.

For any who are submitting entries for items they own, they obviously have the most information available to them. While it is DB staff's duties to verify edit submission information to the best of their abilities, it should not be expected of them to supply it.

Best practice, don't make an entry with the same name as one that already exists. Even if you have to use a descriptor of some sort, it can be temporary and may end up being changed. Make sure to type something in description if there is something different. It will prevent something like this happening in the future.

Also, usually if there is some other entry that needs to be changed before making a new entry, I wait until that is done before making the new one. For someone who has to wait on an edit, you can make a post in Listing Errors saying that x item needs to be changed in some way because you want to make a new entry. Such as, existing entry has just a title but needs a descriptor added, and the entry you want to make doesn't need to have a descriptor.
