Barcode is for DreamWorks Madagascar 2 - Platinum [NL]
https://www.player2gamestore.nl/a-58689400/playstation-2-games/ps2-madagascar-2-escape-to-africa-platinum/#description

Rejected your first edit and approved the subsequent one you submitted upon the first's rejection. The entry now correctly represents the NL DreamWorks Madagascar 2 Platinum variant and not DreamWorks Masagascar Platinum. Since the entry originally had the former EAN information paired with incorrect front art, we should assume that is why the later 2019 Name field edit was made in error.

No, it went to stores with the label (meaning it was not added by a third party). I was pointing that the label was not a part of the original art, and it's common to encounter these boxes without the label in present days.

But I understand keeping the image that resembles the original product the most.

Sorry for any trouble and thank you for your attention.

We usually put into description about the label. For this an example would be :

"black MSX label on front cover"

if the label is only on sealed items, then you use a description like this:

"black MSX label on front cover of sealed copies only"

Tried to fix this Hard Boiled Flare Wolf listing. https://vgcollect.com/item/120300
Proposed edit: https://i.imgur.com/7C2Tf7A.jpg (cart art)
The cart art is using a prerelease render of what the figure was originally going to look like. The actual release looks like the one in my proposal. Skylanders had a lot of renders like this used throughout the franchise history where the render looked one way and the final product ended up different, usually because the promo material would get leaked or released long before the figures were actually ready. As such, many of the prerelease renders/stock photos should be changed to images of the actual products.

Another reason for this is that a lot of these renders and stock photos (for boxes too) look absolutely fantastic in terms of paint quality, texture, and color vibrancy. Meanwhile, the actual product you get is far from that, especially with the Imaginators line where the final product paint quality is at the lowest point in the series. An example of this is with Chompy Mage https://vgcollect.com/item/155938, I proposed an edit for the cart art using an image of the actual figure quality (https://i.imgur.com/Cq4sDBW.jpg) which was rejected. That render looks great, but the colors just aren't right compared to the real figure unfortunately.

If that figure really ended up looking as nice as that render, it might've justified the extremely expensive price tag (over $200!)  :(

Updated those two, only because there are instances of vast or different plastic or paint colors. The plastic being completely different on the first one, where the stock photo shows a two-tone plastic insert but the released product has a single color. The second one because the ghost/slime being a completely different shade of green, one that is seen in the packaged art.

In general, you may see a reject on a loose item picture if it is reasonable to expect that the color difference is close enough and that it is entirely possible that the color difference is or can be due to differences in lighting and camera settings. So the first one was obvious because the insert plastic was completely different, but the second one I almost didn't do because my first thought was that lighting could be the cause of the difference. But your picture more closely matches what was in the front art. If that hadn't been present then that second one may not have been updated.

Regarding 120300, empovyle did not mention their attempted Barcode field update which was rejected. The rejected Barcode edit was to replace the existing information with 047875880719. Search results for 047875879447 do appear, but I haven't been able to confirm any boxed copies with that sequence. That said, it isn't uncommon for Skylanders variants to exist and items seldom being present on eBay. This issue alongside the previous cart art being original to the entry led me to believe there may be more than one Hard-Boiled Flare Wolf figure, which I've still yet to determine one way or another.

As for 155938, I rejected it for the same reason you mentioned—the quality differences between the two are minor and seem more present due to lighting.

Yeah, I'm not sure about that barcode edit... I fear that the original editor may have just copy/pasted it from an incorrect website instead of logging it from their own box but we may never know. I can't find any other North American version, they all seem to have the 047875880719 barcode.

I'm trying to fill in some gaps while replacing pictures. 7 Blades seems to have additional variants I can add with some seeming to differ with barcode and keepcase colour .

UK blue keepcase
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256225253262

UK black keepcase
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266447335504

ES blue keepcase
https://es.wallapop.com/item/7-blades-para-playstation-2-927871517

ES black keepcase
https://es.wallapop.com/item/7-blades-play-2-940621139

Other items seem to differ by just the keepcase colour eg. France.

Black Keepcase
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/355086254283
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/304904540566

Blue Keepcase
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/165652758401

I assume I could likely use the last digits of the barcodes/spine number as descriptors.

A notable difference however between some of these items seems to be the type of hologram used.
Can/Should items be separated by Hologram? A more clear example can be seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ps2/comments/m1f2ps/holographic_logo_stickers_on_ps2_cases/
I'd have to look further into Holograms to definitively say if they were used after only a specific date or if they were mixed and matched.

I'd have to look further into Holograms to definitively say if they were used after only a specific date or if they were mixed and matched.

For items where the differences are apparent beyond their packaging type such as a detail like spine number and barcode like with UK and ES 7 Blades, those should be prioritized as entry name descriptors (the former more so than the latter, if possible) Packaging components can be and regularly are swapped when sold on secondary markets, so unless we observe sealed copies, relying upon those kinds of details isn't guaranteed to be accurate. This also goes for any image which is submitted featuring the outer case.

Judging by our community's response to hologram labels in general, that is perhaps reason enough to not be so eager to create variant entries based on hologram design differences. Along those lines, given our site's image size restraints, those details would not be visibly discernible in any way whatsoever, anyway. If there are hologram label differences, I think it's an interesting detail that's still worth mentioning in the Description field, but only to that extent. We've done similar actions for minor differences regarding ring hubs, paper sleeves, and matrix codes, as well, where we only utilize the Description field.

Regarding case colors, I'd say if you can find 3 separate examples of the item with the black case (or 1 sealed example) then it would be enough to warrant inclusion. If the primary difference between these vars across all countries is the color of the case, then you'd be looking at naming like so:

Game (blue case)
Game (blue case) [ES]
Game (blue case) [FR]
Game (black case)
Game (black case) [ES]
Game (black case) [FR]

And existing or other countries would need to be renamed to fit that pattern.

For the hologram difference, only adding text to description if it is confirmed that both examples exist. Which again means verifying multiple copies of each where each include the same contents. So this means that is we think that 7 Blades in France is sold with 2 different holograms, we then also want to be able to verify contents which is going to include whether or not the manual is different, the disc or if there is any inserts. Also be on the lookout for whether one of these can actually be sourced as an import to a different country.

If you can't verify that both exist in this way, then the one that should be added to the site is the one with the most listings on Ebay. Then save the other one until you can research it again in the future. There are a ton of things I don't submit to the site because I don't have enough information to warrant it.

is the front and back of the box (as described in the item text). The box contains two cartridges and two manuals.
