My wife is well aware that I don't sugar coat things, so I'd say it makes you look like a cow.  I'd also proceed to make cow noises.

Again, that's me.  I'm an asshole, but my mindset is would you rather that I, the person who loves you and isn't honestly judging you, tell you you look like a cow, or some asshole kid or douchebag?  I'd much rather take the heat and save her the embarrassment.

Honestly, I'm picturing a dress with like cow spots on it.  That's just a bad idea all around.

I just brought this up with my coworkers (who are female), and one of them said that she's personally pretty blunt about clothing that she doesn't like, but I thought it was interesting that she actually makes it not a personal attack but rather than just a statement of opinion. She says she'll usually point out features about it that she's not into: "Oh, I don't know... those sleeves are a little too poofy for me. But the pockets are cool, though." Just smaller comments about the item of clothing rather than saying "That makes you look fat," which can *easily* be taken badly. Pointing out stuff you *do* like about the clothing is good, too.

Double post but completely unrelated:

For those of us who don't mind having empty boxes on our shelves:

Funny that they all have the barcode for Lego City Undercover.

After lamenting about selling my copy of LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete in this topic I found a fantastic (and complete) copy. Now the question is this...

Do I put it next to my Arc the Lad Collection since it takes so much space? Or, do I sort it alphabetically? Seeing regular jewel cases and then that giant Working Designs box smack dab in the middle might bother me.

Put it at the beginning or the end with the like-sized boxes.  There's no need to mix that in with the uniformity of the others.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Both giant boxes (giggidy) come from the same company, so it would look better.

So my wife was talking about her upcoming haircut last night. She mentioned the one time she cut it really short, and she remembered my face when she walked in. And she assured me she wouldn't cut it that short again.

So I was like, "Well baby, since we're on the subject and all...that dress that you got recently to lounge around the house, isn't doing you any favors, either."

She was like, "I know, it makes me look 10 times fatter than I actually am, but it's REALLY comfortable." But now that I said it, she won't wear it anymore, because she knows I don't like it.

So problem solved, and it didn't go bad.

Seems I'm due for new tires on my car, really not looking forward to dropping $600+.

So for the longest time local shitty game store would post pics of new games they got before they priced them, I just assumed it was laziness.

But now that they aren't getting a ton of new stuff, they are posting pictures of stuff they have been holding for a long time, things that are priced.  But they put a piece of pink tape over the price so you can't see the price in the pictures.

I'm not sure if it is some marketing scheme to trick folks to come into the store to see the price or the fact that they know they priced it 2 or 3 times retail and don't want to get flamed on the internet.

On a some what related note, I was chatting with my boss yesterday and he was talking to me about game stores because someone he knows is selling their game store and was trying to sell it to my boss.  He was telling me that if he bought it, he would want me to help him run it.  We chatted back and forth, me explaining some things, and he gave me enough info that I was able to track down the store.  The guy told my boss that it was in a great location at a major shopping center in our city and that he has a huge inventory.  The store is about a mile or so from the shopping center, but on the same street.  Located in what used to be a payday loan store and next to a liquor store and a couple of those no English speaking mom and pop restaurants.  The rest of the strip joint is empty, tons of for lease signs.  The inventory is strictly PS2-X1... so a mostly dead/dying market, competing directly with Gamestop.

I told him "I hope you don't consider this guy a friend"

Yeah, there is a chain around me that does the same thing, the sad thing is people come in a pay 50~60 bucks for things like Goldeneye and Mario 64 and see now issue with it. That kinda stuff drives me bonkers. I understand those people just come in for a couple of things for the nostalgia or whatever, but I really wish they would do their research or something.

Yeah, at some point my boss asked me about some local shops for him to scout and compare against.  After the conversation he asked me which ones sell SNES games so he could get Super Mario Kart and Super Mario All Stars, and I very quickly told him to screw that noise and just buy it on eBay or from Gamestop because those will be your cheapest options.

I got a 20% off coupon from GameStop in my email because it's my birthday this month.

So I go to use it on a Game Boy game on their website, and it doesn't work. I emailed them last weekend for help with it.

Haven't gotten a response yet.

...gee, thanks for the useless coupon GameStop.
