A user post on another website said this was released in Japan before the XL existed. If that's true then maybe Nintendo had some left over or just didn't want to redo it?

Also - looks like it just comes w/ the digital game only (*installed*)...so, no actual game/manual, etc?!

That is a sweet 3DS. Fire Emblem is definitely my favorite Nintendo franchise. So, I might be biased...

I think it's totally a beautiful console and would be very tempted to get it if:
1) I didn't already own a non-XL 3DS
2) it came with a physical copy of the game!

If the 3DS XLs didn't exist yet either over here, I'd be much more likely to pick this up just for the rad design and color.

The fact that it is old hardware and download only I hope that they give you a nice discount on the price.
