Chemically Impaired Challenge
« on: April 12, 2013, 10:07:57 pm »
This is a dumb idea, but my son is at my mom's and my wife went to see her friends. That means I'm home alone. What do I do when there is no responsibility for me?  I drink beer and play video games.

That got me to thinking about this: The Chemically Impaired Challenge. I challenge any forum members over the legal drinking age of 21 (13 if you're Canadian) to play a game while drinking.

Tonight, I challenge you to make a deathless run of Super Mario Bros after six Man-Beers.  No light beers and no extra lives here folks.

This is completely dumb and I hope no one follows my lead. In fact, this thread shouldn't exist...  but it does!

What about those of us who can't - or won't - or both! - drink alcohol? :P

Just an update...
1) I shouldn't be allowed near any communication device when I've been drinking
2) I did it. I almost made it through twice without dying, but I missed a jump on 8-2 the second time around.
3) I'm an idiot

When guilding in Wow, our guild would have "Drunken Raid nights,"  where everyone would get tanked, and attempt some fairly easy raid. Hilarity, and frustration ensued.

Well...I'm here to tell ya' (from *personal* experience:) that there's no need for alcohol (of any kind) to become nice and chemically inebriated/impaired -Actually- tbqh about it...I'm probably (at the least) "buzzed" (if not *high*) the vast majority of the time I spend gaming  :o

Full disclosure:

It's all totally legal & above-board...I'm *legally* prescribed/on some pretty generous dosages & strengths of some decently strong pain pills...maybe *THAT'S* why I can so easily forget my place/where I left-off/what I was doing in a game :P

That said/aside -

Please allow me to thank you, Turf, for a topic that had me *Literally* laughing out loud - early on a Saturday morning  ;)

At one point, that was every raid night, in my former guild.

While I do miss the good nights, I don't miss the terribad nights at all.

ha, ya. The biggest thing w/ wow guilds is the politics and drama. Eventually, everyone starts to think about their epeen, and not about having fun. Which leads to a lot of terribad. I quit WoW a while ago, and let it slip into nostalgia.

Just a heads up, this might show back up this weekend. Saturday night would be a good night for it.

Someone throw a challenge out there. Something you can do with little problem, but might be hilarity if one was good and loose. You'll have to keep it pretty simple. I'll lose interest in about 15-20 min deep if I'm half cocked.

I've done it again!  But this time I took 2 sleep aids and I'm going to take a stab at megaman 2.
I don't plan on finishing it, I just want to see how deep I can get before I let sleep take over.

Wish me luck on my stupid quest/experiment.

Flash Man is done. Getting sleepy though. Nodded off 2 times during the level.

I woke up in the middle of the night with Dr. Light telling me I had received Metal Blades.  I guess that's as far as I could stay awake.  That was kinda fun and I slept like a baby.
