After 2 months of researching and adding games of obscure systems into VGC's database, I returned to current gaming projects such as: LEGO Star Wars - The Complete Saga for Nintendo Wii.

I like LEGO games in general for their simple, easy to get into yet solid gameplay. And as a fan of both classic Lucas trilogies I really enjoy this one.  : 8)

Ok I swear I'm nearly done with Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. I know it's been on my Currently Playing list for months now, but I'm finally doing prep for the final battle. There's supposed to be some postgame story content after the final battle, but if it takes too long I'll just call it done after I beat the dragon. Remind me to never take on two big action rpgs at the same time again.
Games Needed to Complete Collection:
PS5: 24 | PS4: 19 | XBOX One: 11 | Switch: 4

Picked up Star Wars: Galactic Racer and it's a pretty solid start to it.  As much as I can still broadly enjoy Star Wars, it's nice getting something that isn't hardlining references and previous characters, i think almost everyone in this is a new character and the one returning character is Sebulba, the most obvious and distinctly important character to have in a Star Wars Racing game.  Campaign is decently tough too, it's not a standard just Grand Prix type thing, it's mostly about surviving through the run of races to make it to the end where you'll have a boss fight and I think, or would assume there's a couple of these "Tours" with I'm expecting more planets as the first tour is just 4 planets.  I think, or at least hope this is how Podracers are unlocked too for it as you start out with just a Speeder option, Bike, or I forget what is the one that has the ability to turn sideways lol

Seems like a good amount of content with some challenge modes, Arcade run, and ranked Multiplayer, all with unlocks and different vehicle models and customizing options.  A neat feature is that when you unlock a new model of say a Speeder, you can then mix and match those parts.  It's all cosmetic too, so you don't have to choose things based on a playstyle.

It's quite challenging and I think you are meant to lose the first tour at least a couple times, they want you to get use to the racing, upgrade your vehicles, and then try again so that you will hopefully be nice and boosted up by the time you get to the Tour boss race.

Not vibing with Silent Hill Townfall so far. Maybe I truly dont like the franchise.  I thought it was so different than 2 that id love it.  It's so slow and methodical and the CRT is more of a pain in the rump than fun.   We'll give it another go later. Maybe its a slow build.

Gears E-Day and the game is excellent.
it's a visual and technical masterpiece.
I play it on PC and it's well optimized, I think it's the most beautiful game of 2026.

I really like the horror moments and the pacing is solid so far even when you reach the open area. The side quests are designed to be immersive.
The allied AI isn't great, it takes a long time to revive you, even when you're right next to them.

Played the demo for Chunky Jump, a pixelated platformer/kinda slightly FNAF styled game where you are have to deal with a nightly threat using a flashlight, while playing a platformer game at the same time.  I don't truly want to say it's "Five Nights at Freddy's", it just has elements that feel similar, but it's a very different gameplay experience.  It's abit of that one indie horror game that has you playing a game boy while trying to not get seen by the evil mother, which I liked, where here you spend the night defending the gas station with your flashlight from weird rabbit creatures, while needing to beat the level in the platformer game.  It also has day levels that seem to have you doing other minigame stuff, interacting with people, it's all really well done, great art, everything plays well, it's a real cool game and I'm looking forward to it next year.

Last week I was on an unfortunate trip revolving around a funeral, but decided to take my PS Vita with me and play something other than Uncharted for the first time in near a decade on it. I decided to replay Deception IV: Blood Ties, recalling having stupid fun with the series as you set off traps, combining them into a ridiculous show of screams and digital agony. I'm generally not one for anime-esq games, but I had fun with the series going all the way back to the 2nd game's demo on PS1.

Needless to say, after all the flights, layovers and time at the hotel, I beat the game and honestly, it left me wanting a bit more. Low and behold, there was a PS4 version of the game with more content subtitled Nightmare Princess and having it on the TV versus the handheld would be preferred for me as I generally don't do handheld gaming anymore. Sadly, like the PS3 games I'm hunting for, this particular game is just ridiculously overpriced, and it's on PS4. I'm guessing this one was more rare or something and from what I've found, it's the last in the series with no mention of a continuation in the works after more than a decade.

Have any of you played this one?

Resident Evil: Requiem

I'm enjoying it, but also stressed. I hate sneaking around. But otherwise it's been good so far.

I just finished my second playthrough of RE Requiem. I liked it more this time. The way it's thrown together really bothered me the first time. The Leon sections were obviously part of an unfinished multiplayer game that they abandoned and decided to tack onto the game they ultimately released. I hope Veronica is just more straight up survival horror like the Grace sections in Requiem. I think it will be.

I've seen some gameplay from the first series entry on PlayStation and remember it looking fun. It's a series I'd like to try out, but it's the price barrier that's prevented from doing so. Just like the final entry released you mentioned, all the titles are expensive. I'm sure that there's a lot of reasons for why that is, but I know that they're more of a niche subset of games with presumably a low print run which probably is a large reason for that.

With that said—sorry for your loss. It doesn't really make up for it, but at least the opportunity to revisit something and gain satisfaction from it in spite of the circumstances came to be.

Demo's are popping up on Steam to check out and I went for Anomaly Inspector Simulator.  The concept isn't new, it's similar to that zombie game where you have to do specific things to find out if someone is infected or not, or there was that...doll factory game where you have to check if a doll is wrong or right.  This takes that concept and puts it into the world of anomalous objects, so similar vibes to that of Control, or The Fringe, or SCP type things, but it's really solid.  It's very tutorial-esque so once you feel like you are kinda taking off with more freedom, that's when the demo ends, but I like it.  It's a simple game, but if they can do a lot to keep it varied over it's full playtime and make it nice and creepy, I'm on board.

Also got around to playing the demo for Terrible Lizards, which has been out for a few.  This one is interesting as it has some really unique monster designs to it.  It's "Mascot Horror" , but I think it's sorta trying to also not just be that as the main creatures are actual dinosaur related monsters, but it is set in a dinosaur theme park/museum that is above a deep underground cave system where they dig up dinosaur bones.  There are mascot suits that move around too, not sure what its in them yet, they have a similar vibe to what Secret of the Mimic's costume looked like, proper mascot type costumes with big bodies and big heads.

The gameplay gimmick for this is parkour, you are pretty fast, can climb a lot of stuff, do little run slides, swing on things, etc...Makes the common chase scene experience common in a lot of mascot horror more purposeful when you gotta do more with the chase I feel.  Broadly I'd compare the game to Poppy's Playtime the most.  I don't think this will be a chapter base game, thankfully I think people are tired of that and games like Poppy's Playtime have soured that abit, so it's coming out very soon and also not in Early Access as far as I can tell.

Fun note, the lead character you play is voiced by Kellen Goff, known for his voice work in previous FNAF games like Secret of the Mimic, Security Breath, and all the way back to Sister Location.  It basically just sounds like a more upbeat version of Arnold from Secret of the Mimic lol

Resident Evil: Revelations

I decided to replay this again since I don't remember much from it. And now I know why I don't have much from it, it's completely forgettable.

This has to be the worst in the series when it comes to action over horror. All I'm doing is run through halls and blowing the same enemies away. There is no puzzle solving, the Metroidvania element is just barely hanging in there, the story is very weak, and the enemies are repetive and uninspired (unlike The Tyrant or Mr. X in previous entries).

Capcom should be ashamed of this trash.

Another demo, Prospice, one I played before with the open playtest and the demo shows it's shaping up well.  They cleaned up a few things, added a feature to tone down the VHS low quality visuals (I found them eye straining unfortunately before), and I think it's shaping up to be an interesting experience.  The idea was that you are member of a team that is studying this island that has weird creatures, artifacts, and strange happenings.  The main experience is driving your truck across the island, navigating some light hazards and potentially coming across these creepy creatures and anomalies.  It's abit like those traversal games where it's built around a real physical terrain travel, mud and water slows you down, traction is a factor, might have to winch yourself up a spot or out of something, all while visiting creepy spots or delivering unique cargo.

Kinda take driving things around a creepy area with Death Stranding and mixing it with the low poly and sorta mundane work idea of Voices of the Void. I like it, I'll probably check out the game when it releases.
