I don't know what my best finds have been but my favorite is a 3D0 system and 45 games.

It's all a blur, but mostly I just paid retail for everything. Can't really find anything good just sitting around somewhere for cheap anymore. I don't think I found even one slightly uncommon or slightly valuable game for cheap at any flea market this year. Kinda sad. Maybe a few incomplete PS1 games, but I don't count them.

Jurassic Park Operation Genesis Complete Xbox- $20
Metroid II  Gameboy Complete- $33
Gargoyles Quest complete Gameboy- $17
Sunset Riders Genesis complete- $15
Ninja gaiden II NES complete- $20
Fire emblem path of radiance gamecube complete- $20
Atari Karts Atari Jaguar complete-$60
R-Type III Snes Complete MINT- $50

But my best finds were through the website Gohastings.com.  Early last year they had posted a sale that ALL Ps2 games would be on sale for $4.99 each.  When the sale went live it was actually just a handful of select games that were $4.99.   I was bummed out along with many of the fine people at cheapassgamer.com and many people complained to them.  Around 2am in the morning the next day I was adding games that were in stock to my cart imagining how awesome it wouldve been to get them for $4.99, in the middle of adding a few games to my cart, all the games in my cart switched prices to $4.99!!!   My haul included:

.hack quarantine complete
Monster rancher 4 complete
Jurassic Park operation genesis complete
Haunting ground complete
Wild arms Alter code F complete
Suikoden V Complete
Shining Tears Complete
Shining Force EXA complete
Magna Carta Box Set Complete
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Complete
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II Complete
Champions Return to Arms Complete
Gradius V Complete
Grandia III Complete

Best Haul I've ever had.  All For $4.99 a piece!!!  or $7.24 a piece if you count shipping.   I don't think I'll Ever top that one

My best finds of the year were physical copies of Dungeon Keeper 2 (PC), Heroes of Might and Magic III (PC), Myst (PC), and Nuclear Strike (PS1) for 25 cents each. Dungeon Keeper 2 was definitely my favorite of the group. I put a lot of hours into it over the summer. :)
Currently playing: Persona 5 (PS4)

Im not going to put these in any sort of value or time frame, Im just going to list a few of the things I acquired last year that were among the most interesting or special pieces to my collection.

Retron 5 - I had this bastard on pre-order for like 6 months when it finally arrived at my door. All the different topics on different forums about how they would never release, that they were bound to be bugged forever, etc made me question whether I should keep my pre-order or not. Well, once they started shipping, I was glad I kept it but it still took over 2 months after initial shippings for mine to arrive but it finally did and now its a main piece in my living room.
Turbo/Duo magazines - Ive been slowly trying to finish this set for a while. Striking out everywhere or missing very overpriced items, I almost decided to sell off what I have rather than trying to finish. I somehow ran into a guy who was selling virtually every issue I was missing (minus one) and I got them for a steal of a price. Then a nice Ebay auction netted me that last piece and its all complete now.
DQ Heroes PS4 - I saw this item the day the pics started showing up online and knew I had to have it!!! Luckily enough I had been active in the "Save your change 4.0" thread and accumulated almost $500 in change already. I took the money to the bank, deposited it, and went and put a pre-order on it. It sits on the desk with me and Ive used it almost every day since it arrived.
James "Buster" Douglas boxing (SMS) - The grail for NA SMS collection. Thanks to an amazing trade on this very forum, I acquired a really nice copy of this game to finish off my set.
DQ Monsters Battle road victory controller - This is the one piece of my DQ collection that I had written off to "will never obtain". But fate happened and our very own Anruiukimi has a good friend in Japan who was able to not only get me a complete version of the controller but a complete copy of the game itself to go with it. And at a price that was within my budget.

I have made lots of trades and acquisitions over 2014 and all of them were special in their very own way so if I left off something that I got from someone on here, its not out of lack of interest or something like that. The ones I listed were just situations where it took a lot more effort or planning to get than the average transaction.

I had a lot of pickups that I was happy to get this year, but I'm going to limit it to 10:

Suikoden II
Wild Arms 4&5 (with 5 being the complete Anniversary Ed.)
Lunar 1&2 complete for PS1
Arc the Lad Collection, again complete
Psychonauts for PS2
Haunting Ground
Kuon (these 2 PS2 horror games are the only 2 really good found-in-the-wild deals on my list, I gave $5/each for them)
One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 CE
Destiny Ghost Edition
Tomba 2 Strategy Guide

Several of those were thanks to people here on VGCollect. :)

Not a cheap deal by any means, but this was the year I got my Holy Grail, White Whale, or what have you.

As my reward/present/whatever for completing my Master's degree, I splurged and got the Mother 3 GBA Micro. I had to wait a few months after my degree was finalized because I wasn't willing to spend $800+ on it and although I'm not usually obsessed with something being complete, I really wanted this to be.

Everything else I found or purchased pretty much pales in comparison to that.

I really wish I had bought one of those when they were regularly going for around $300 complete. :'( Congratulations on getting one!

How much do they go for now? I remember when they were around $200 a few years ago which i still regret not getting during that time.

I got a super good deal on mine at about $450, complete, from another collector here in the United States. I've seen ones without the Franklin Badge go for around $500, and I've seen them go as high as about $900, depending on the condition of the components.
