Off Topic / Re: Establishing meaningful active friendships as an adult
« on: November 05, 2018, 06:17:49 am »
I am a loner pretty much also. I live with my family, I don't like to go places, I lost too much faith in people to have friends again. I lost one recently because I just can't trust anyone. As a child I all the friends I had would steal from behind my back. Now my last friend never stole from me as far as I know.

But he liked to stay active and I am not interested in outside activities like concerts, bars and fast food. I would not even go to any rock concerts that I had a chance to go to. I just felt uncomfortable with the idea of going to rock concerts, the bar, the gym and fast food with another man. I stay at home for days and listen to my music collection today, with the television and the occasional video game

I highly recommend this light to heavy metal band the goes by the name of Dokken here are some of their best albums in my opinion

1: Back For The Attack
2: Under The Lock And Key
3: Breaking The Chains
4: Tooth And Nail
5: Dysfunctional

Also worth mentioning would be a Don Dokken solo album called "Up From The Ashes"

2074
I want to add:
Smash TV
Total Carnage
Battletoads
APB
Mortal Kombat
Simpson’s
TMNT (both)
MoonWalker

But just got some news literally the same day I signed for the new house.

Short version. No more arcade machines for a while.
you may or may not believe in God "@dashv" but you could always try to pray for a bigger and affordable house, after all  it sounds like you've got nothing to lose. only to gain

This year I finally had enough of denying myself and delaying gratification.

I got an Attack From Mars Limited Edition pinball machine (#21 of 1000).
Also got an Area 51 original cabinet (I am almost done restoring it)
And an Area 51: Site 4 cabinet.

The first two items fulfill a personal pipe dream I’ve had for over 20 years.

Now I am working on phase 2.

Tomorrow I’m putting in an offer on a new home with a finished basement which will become my personal arcade starting with these three machines.

I’m gonna deck it all out with led accent lighting, a custom neon sign, and everything.

Before anyone gets too jealous, yes I am compensating for something but not what you think.

The rest of my life this year has been a complete dumpster fire and it’s not getting put out any time soon.

I hope everything goes good for you, good luck on the new house

:)
One of the relatively modern tekken games.

In the past my answer would have been Street Foghter II but I think I’d play Tekken more today.

Yea I like Tekken also but my copies of Tekken freeze on my PS3

If I was rich I would buy a sit down steering wheel car racing arcade cabinet  only if I had the space to place it. But I would mostly wish for a cabinet that included multiple racing games with it. Playing by yourself in front of just a home television can get boring after a while.

If you could buy an your own arcade room or personal hall, what are some of the kind of games you would want included in your arcade room? Imagine if money or space was not an obstacle

If I could have an arcade hall I would want also this game that you have guns and shoot the bad guys I think  it was like Virtua Cop but it had zombies instead of the FBI guys

General / Re: Official PS1 Classic Game List Revealed
« on: October 30, 2018, 01:58:15 am »
(PARTUAL QUOTES BY BOTH BURNINGDOOM AND SWORDDUDE)
Why Twisted Metal and not Twisted Metal 2? The improvements were so much better in the sequel.

Odd that we're not getting a single Tomb Raider or Crash Bandicoot game, since they were pretty much PlayStation's mascots with that console.

I would have expected at the very least croc, crash bandicoot, medievil spyro and klonoa the sony mascots and as far as less popular rpg's go instead of wild arms chrono cross or final fantasy tactics.

I agree with the both of you and others as well. Not a single mainstream SONY mascot appeared on that list. and, that can blow It  I think for SONY. I mean why not? As far as Twisted Metal 1 goes. I currently think that it's way less popular than Twisted Metal 2. But it seems that, SONY may have been trying to get more of the less common games on the New PlayStation 1 classic. even though.

As far as Rainbow Six is concerned as a pack in first person shooter I think they should have went with Medal Of Honor instead

How does an Eye Toy PlayStation 2 game work? I currently have 2 Eye Toy games for the PS2 and an Eye Toy device, but I never used them. I am not sure how they work, before I try does anyone have any experience on how a to use the eye toy. do I need a motion censer controller as well to play? or not? I know I'm probably missing some kind of control device or not?

I know a lot of people have these cheap games in their collection but has anyone ever really tried to play these with just the eye toy camera device and a regular PS2 controller? thanks in advance :-[

I went through a small phase of buying vinyl records at the beginning of the year, but after getting to about just under 30 I realised it was getting quite expensive, and haven't bought any since. I like buying CDs just for having around and taking in the car since they're really cheap most of the time, just popping on Amazon to look up an album I really like that I haven't got yet and getting it for just £1 or £2 is fun.

The majority of my music is digital though, I have about 1300 albums on my computer which I have hooked up to my stereo and listen to them through that.

Most of the music I listen to is post-punk, punk, goth rock, new wave etc and other sub-genres that fall under those... but I have quite a bit of a mixture of other genres, too. Honestly music for me is a much bigger thing than games these days, I listen for hours every single day, and most days I try to find new bands or albums to listen to.

I haven't bought any physical music this month but I've downloaded quite a lot of albums, some of the ones I like most that I had never heard before being;

Alvvays - "Antisocialites" and their self-titled album (dream-pop, indie)
Wild Nothing -  "Gemini", "Indigo" and "Nocturne" (dream-pop, shoegaze, indie)
GZA/Genius - "Liquid Swords" (hip-hop)
Alice in Chains - "Facelift" (grunge, alternative)
Green Day - "Insomniac" (punk, pop-punk)

I could talk about music all day  ;D

Do have a sound card for your computer? if not I highly recommend buying one, I too used to hook my computer up to an old stereo system. Most computer sound cards enhance the listening, and in my experience make your music more clear, and sound cards are must when hooking them up to surround sound, and are also good for standard stereo sound. Sound cards are usually better then standard mother board audio. most Sound cards are basically a computer chip that hooks up to the internal insides of a computer usually a desktop, not a laptop.

good luck on that documentary you talked about doing marvelvscapcom2 :)

Classic Video Games / Re: Why I’ve Transitioned to Arcades and Pinballs
« on: October 26, 2018, 01:12:13 pm »
speaking of pinball there is a pinball collection for the 6th console generation, but the PS2 version is the blue disc type of video game.

"Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection" also for PS1 there is some more

1: Pro Pinball: Big Race USA (1999)
2: Pro Pinball: Fantastic Journey (2000) :)

I like the console version of pinball, but I used to have a Pinball mini arcade machine growing up

I don't really keep an inventory of what I have picked up when it comes to music. I will typically buy CDs and tapes but not really records. And a big no to 8 tracks because I don't want to have to replace the foams in even the ones I already have!

I did recently pick up a hybrid disc, one that is a music CD on one side and a DVD video on the other side. It even came in a weird plastic holder. I bought it as a novelty really, I have no idea who the artist is.

One thing I like to do is pick up cassette tapes that are in other languages that I find at thrift. Or anything that looks interesting when it comes to package design.
Here is one example: https://imgur.com/a/Fds1D

I currently do not have a method for playing CDs. I primarily listen to them in the car. I have a cd changer that I would love to get fixed, then I could use that. I have two main cassette players. A single deck and a 6 changer.

I use a computer or PlayStation 3 to record them to but I never burn CD's or even use any burned copies anymore. I listen them all in one playlist on 2 devices. I have dreams of opening a radio station that plays more then hits

Te BFG version I was told on the PC at least is a fake version of Doom 3. That included, all the Doom 3 expansion packs plus, original "Ultimate Doom" and "Doom 2", (all in one) I used to play Doom 3 BFG edition on the PC but I never played it through because I never really liked it as much as the original Doom series mainly because Doom 3 didn't really fit the doom story line.

This is a hard one mainly because the Doom BFG edition gives you more for your money, then the regular Doom 3 but, but Doom 3 BFG edition I was told is only a fake copy of Doom 3 made by the makers of Steam so I am current undecided of which is better :-\

because I never played the original version of Doom 3 only the BFG version.

Check your facts bro, don't spread rumors. Valve would never do this. The PC version is just really buggy and the consoles versions are better on that front. Check your facts before posting something like this. It was published for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 by Bethesda.

It's not a fake copy by the makers of Steam, where did you even get that from? It's made by id Software, same developers that did the original Doom 3.

It's something I heard on a different forum and I believed it ok? Anyway I did like the game and I got it from steam. But the BFG version of Ultimate Doom did have an object in front of a switch on one of the levels making one level called "Fear" impossible. but my other older copy of Ultimate Doom didn't have the object in front of a switch

Another one of my Steam games called Wolfenstein 3D had a key that was moved to an impossible area of entry in episode 4 and the original Wolfenstein 3D didn't have the same problem. yet had the same map. I'm not sure why

But I could have been hacked because people hacked me for over 10 years and pulled pranks on my apps for many times
