Good to know. I didn't even realize E3 was this close

I'm ready to see all of it, especially Nintendo.  I'm a fanboy.

I have a wishlist a mile long.  Give me some Switch stuff to look forward to.

There's also rumor of a big Game of Thrones game to be announced by Bethesda.  I'm playing the Telltale game right now, so I need more Game of Thrones

I'm hoping to hear more about the new SMT for the Switch. There are a couple of Atlus titles that I would like some info on.

Most importantly, I'm hoping that Mana Collection for the Switch gets approved for localization. If that happens, I will drop what I'm doing and buy a Switch.

Ni No Kuni 2, Ys VIII (release date of 9/12 has been announced), God of War (although a release date of 11/28 has been posted), and mostly DQ XI are what I want to hear about.

If dreams are allowed - Bravely Default 3, a Phantasy star remake, and a 2d Metroid.

I'm ready! I love watching E3, I invite my gaming friends over every year and we have a blast. I'm hoping to see more about things on the Switch side of things. SMT and Suda's new game mainly. I would like to see a new proper Metroid, but I am not holding my breath. It's hard to list everything I am excited to see because I have interest in so many games, the big one would be a confirmed release date for the new mainline DQ title for sure. The surprises of course are always fun to look forward to.

Unless there is a complete surprise new thing (not sure if there has been such a thing for me sine Scribblenauts), what I want is pretty standard:

My hopes are not high, and I've never gotten much into E3 hype.

I'd be pretty damned happy to see a new Fallout in the vein of New Vegas handed off to a different dev.

I'm taking next week off like always, so I'll be sitting around watching all week long.

I'm hoping to see some stuff on Fire Emblem Warriors and the new Switch FE title.
I'd love to see something about Smash for Switch.
Obviously looking forward to whatever Nintendo shows off in general for the Switch.

Looking forward to Bethesda's E3 show, they wouldn't be doing one if they didn't have something planned.  Usually, Bethesda doesn't announce stuff unless it is coming soon, read as in the next year.
Quake Champions obviously will be shown, but I feel like this isn't dedicating all of id's time, so maybe we'll see something Doom related?
Maybe we'll finally get some info on BattleCry?
I'm expecting something from Tango Gameworks and MachineGames.  Maybe a new Evil Within or Wolfenstein?  Maybe exactly what I want a Fallout spinoff again.
Definitely going to hear about Morrowind or other ESO stuff.
Maybe some Fallout 4 VR info?

I don't expect anything Elder Scrolls or Fallout directly from Bethesda.  Not this soon.  It's possible that we could hear something about ES6, but I just don't expect anything about it before the VGAs.

Ubisoft will probably pleasantly surprise me, but I'm already looking forward to Far Cry 5.

EA will fall on its face like every year.  I'm glad to hear NFS is bringing back the pause button (allegedly), but that's not enough to recover.

MS and Sony will have tons to show I'm sure, but I'm not super impressed with anything coming from either company in the near future other than maybe Days Gone.

I would honestly like to see Smash 5 rather than bringing Smash for Wii U/3DS to the Switch. I know it's probably the latter if anything, but the poor Wii U is getting gouged of all it's titles, and I already have the Wii U and 3DS versions of Smash 4  :-\

I try not to get too hyped for E3 because I feel like publishers rarely meet my expectations (except for E3 2015, that was INSANE!). With that said, if any of the following games are announced I will consider it a good E3:

- Half Life 3 (the game that has become my new Shenmue 3; it may or may not ever happen, but if it does I will have a full on meltdown)
- Elder Scrolls 6
- Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines remake or sequel (this is a HUGE longshot, but would be awesome!)
- DOOM 5

In other words I will be watching Bathesda's conference really close. There are of course other games that I am not thinking of or new IPs that might really interest me, but who knows. Here is hoping this is a decent E3.

I love E3. No other industry gets excited about upcoming projects like video games.
- I'm very curious about how Microsoft presents Scorpio.
- I want to see more Mario Odyssey but it probably won't be enough to get me to buy a Switch.
- Will Kingdom Hearts 3 show up? I'm still predicting a late 2018 release date despite what Square said with it being within in "3 years or so" I lean more towards the "or so"
- I'm mainly excited to see what Sony has up it's sleeves. What is Sucker Punch working on? Uncharted: Lost Legacy, God of War and Spider-Man all look very promising. Vita 2
Woo!

Nah, they'll anounce KH 2.9991 with remakes of remakes of the first KH and a tecnocolor version of Birth by Sleep. I'm convinced at this point that Square hates KH fans and enjoys watching them get pissed off and have their dreams crushed.

As long as they added at least 10 new fighters and 6 or so new stages, as well as more trophies, modes, and features I'd be willing to buy an updated version of Sm4sh on the Switch. Who knows though, Smash 5 might happen. Wouldn't be floored if this was announced, but it would make me very happy.

I know I would not be happy if I bought MK8 or Smash 4 on launch and then saw all these re released titles. Smash 4 hasn't even been out for 3 years yet, haha. I purposely didn't get Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U since I knew the Switch version was available. Makes me not sure which games on the Wii U would be safe to buy.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some new game from From Software, but it will likely be another Dark Souls, Bloodborne 2, or more on that vampire-souls game or whatever they're calling it.

The problem is that Smash 5 would take years to build, porting Smash 4 and adding character wouldn't be ridiculous.

I'd love to see Chibi-Robo, Shovel Knight, Yooka and Laylee, Ice Climbers, Squid Kids, an ARMS character or two, and of course Waluigi.

Code-Vein isn't being made by From Software.

From has already stated no new Dark Souls or Bloodborne any time soon, which yeah, could be a lie.

I'm looking for a new Armored Core from them.  But I expect new IPs if anything.

I was hoping for a Pokemon Stars announcement, but after the Ultra Sun & Moon crap, I'm pretty positive nothing is coming with that.

As for other things, I'm hoping for a new Metro 2033 game, a new Fallout, though early, would be great, I'm curious to see what Visceral's Star Wars game will be, hopefully a bunch of possible dates for PS4 things or games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake.  I don't think this year will be too crazy in particular, but I'm still hopefully for a few surprise gems.  Oh and yeah, whatever From Software might be doing.  Fully expecting Armored Core Souls lol

Kojima already said they have nothing planned for E3.  Of course, it is Kojima and that could be an outright lie, but it seemed to be that they just didn't have anything ready for showing off and are just wanting to focus on development.

Also, really why? Most of these retro 2D reboot games are usually nothing people really like.  We had Rocket Knight and Bionic Commando and I know there were a bunch of others.  People want Sonic Mania, they want to see those old games come back in a familiar style with sprite artwork.  Like if this Bubsy was still old sprite art...it wouldn't be anything people want, but at least it would look better than a mobile game.  Also the video has some very obvious issues with its distance loading with its shadows.

About the only okay thing is that dev is the group that makes the Giana Sisters platformer games that seem alright.  They just unfortunately have to work on a property no one wants lol

No way is that real.  One, for being a monstrosity, and two, I'm pretty sure Sony is not gonna do a handheld again.  The Vita didn't do that great and Sony kinda stopped caring about it for the most part.  Best numbers I can find is that it did 10 million in 2015, so guessing ahead, it's probably done Wii U numbers, which is not very good.  I think the only place it did well was Japan, which is why it still gets a lot of games made for it.

I do wish somebody would makes another Vampire: The Masquerade entry. Heck, if Hairbrained would pick up on it, I wouldn't complain.

(Never finished the game, because I realized I had accidentally used the glitch where you get way too much experience starting out... I would feel like I was cheating too much haha.  ::)  )

Honestly, I'm not anticipating much of anything. It'd be nice to have a few excuses to buy a Switch sometime, but other than that, this generation has kinda been a bit of a pain with the new console installments being pushed every year. I've also got plenty of games I need to catch up on, really.

That being said, it would be cool to see a new Metroid, just for the sake of it. And a few Switch surprises, too. Something really different.

With Bubsy making a comeback maybe there is finally hope for everyone's favorite mascot - AWESOME POSSUM!

I mean, sure they put him on Mt. Rushmore but he also deserves a new game. Someone needs to kick Dr. Robotnik's Machino's butt, and it ain't gonna be someone else.

Battlefront 2 as expected looks great! Free content is a big factor in me getting the game right away too as it sounds like what they might charge for is other cosmetics and what might seemingly be star cards as seen by getting a star card for Yoda that might alter his abilities perhaps.  Hopefully they handle that right, but just getting the maps and heroes free is a great way to keep the game active.

Well the start of today at least gave us something great with Battlefront 2 footage as it looks good and of course the best news is that all major content is free now.  I think they'll charge for cosmetics and extra stuff such as star cards for heroes that alter abilities.

Also I'm very hopeful for Bioware's newest IP, which seems to be about you fighting alien monsters in power suits.  Apparently there is a "wall" that protects the people, so now all I think of is Attack on Titan in Power Suits lol Unfortunately only got a tease as the rest is coming to the Microsoft reveal.

I was abit surprised we got nothing for Viscerals Star Wars game.  Either it's far away from finished or it's being held entirely secret for something like the Sony or Microsoft event.

What a piss poor conference EA had, although I didn't expect much from them. Even the two games that interested me that they showed, the new Bioware game and Battlefront 2, they managed to screw up in terms of presentation. The trailer for the Bioware game (can't even remember the name because of how unremarkable the reveal was) made it look like a generic dystopian sci-fi game that we've seen and played a million times. And then there was Battlefront 2; they open the reveal by stressing the addition of a single player campaign, AND THEN DO NOT MENTION OR SHOW IT AGAIN! Nope, just the multiplayer, multiplayer, and the multiplayer. I fucking hate EA with a passion, and I'd be shocked if either of these games actually delivered once released due to the company behind them consistently failing to deliver on the hype they surround their games with. As for everything else they showed off, I have no interest in them, which sadly includes NFS, which I was more excited about before E3, but now I know I won't be buying it.

As for tomorrow, I am interested in Microsoft's conference, mostly because of the Scorpio reveal and I have very, very high hopes for Bethesda. Here's hoping we get anything regarding Elder Scrolls 6.

Yo, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but BioWare has fallen more than almost any other developer, so I would be veeeeeeeery skeptical about expecting anything from them. It is very likely a cancer that will only spread too because all the talent has left and been replaced with people not interested in making a fun game with a deep story, but instead... something else that I probably don't have to say that anyone who follows gaming already knows. As time goes on they are only going to replace more senior members with these clownshoes.

Who knows, maybe they can turn it around but I think it is too late. Their good name has been tarnished and I can't give them the benefit of the doubt anymore.

I think their "fall" is overblown, though their name has taken a hit, but I can still be hopeful for the game, while being cautious.  Mass Effect 3 was a good game, it just had the story troubles and that bad end.  I generally liked Dragon Age Inquisition, though I'm not someone that cared about the games before, and really the only big poor game I've seen is Andromeda, which was made by their third string crew, not the main branch, which has been working on Anthem for awhile.  Not saying it's gonna be the next big game, I'm just very interested in the concept right now and excited to see what the game actually is today at the Microsoft event.  I could think entirely differently after they show it off lol

Microsoft Confrence

XBOX ONE X- It's the goddamn 90's naming all over again

Tech blah blah

Forza 7- Wait I thought it was on 6? ehh whatever also a Porsche was unveiled

Metro Exodus- Looks interesting

Assassin's Creed Origins- now in Egypt and giant Snake honestly looks like the most interesting since 2 (the ubisoft presentor almost said Xbox One S instead of X)

PUBG- on console soon

Deep Rock- eh

Satae of Decay 2- never played the first

the Darwin Project- looks like they are trying to get the Overwatch crowd. like the artstyle thought

Minecraft- universal Servers connecting everything, updated lighting & maybe textures

Dragonball Fighter Z- Looks F**king badass heard it's by Arc System Works

Black Desert- the Rock monster had a hip bone

the Last night- I have no Idea what to think of this one

the Artful Escape- What did I just watch...

CodeVein- the Male Character looks vaguely reminds me of Nero from DMC4. looks cool though

Sea of theives- I hope this doesn't die in a few weeks of launch like most Online multiplayer

Gotta go eat so I'm going to miss stuff

Life is strange Before the Storm- kinda came back near the end

Shadow of War- Looks good, army building via brainwashing now. I like that Orc, Bruz he's pretty funny

Live Piano... wait Ori??? Dude I think this is Ori 2...YES Ori and the Will of the Whisp

XBOX BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY WILL HAVE HAS OG XBOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now you can play Xbox one games on your Xbox One... Wait Wut?

Nov 7 $499 for Xbox One X Ehh...

Anthem- well... it looks good

Overall got things I'm defiantly Looking Forward to. though not to sure on the price of the X

Things I missed apparently a mascot platformer where the Character looks way too much like Conker, A video game Montage, and Terry Crews is in Crackdown 3

I gotta say 2 of the greatest things that will come out of this E3 will be OG Xbox BC and Terry Crews Selling Crackdown 3

I'm so happy for Metro Exodus right now lol That was one of the big games I was hoping to have revealed during E3.  Also Xbox One X is a terrible name, but Xbox One was always a bad name to begin with and this does show them trying to make sure to not mistake this as like an Xbox 4 or anything like that.

Loot system and now levels for enemies in AC: Origins.  That seems very Division-like.

Dude, Dragon Ball Fighters looks amazing.  It's literally Marvel vs Capcom x Guilty Gear x Dragon Ball Z.

Microsoft had a pretty good conference.  Lots of just showing games and while nothing blew me away and I'll never buy an Xbone, since I have a PC, they showed off a lot of good stuff, much of it not being Xbox exclusive, but still good reveals.

I thought the Microsoft conference was pretty damn good overall, but still nothing that is going to make me go out and buy an XBONE or drop $500 on the new X model. I am not a fan of the new mid-generation console upgrade trend that has been happening, but i feel Microsoft is doing a good job getting people interested in 4K gaming.

Probably the thing I likes the most was all the games they showed off, most of which I can't wait to play on my PS4 lol. I will also give them credit for getting me excited about Anthem, Bioware's new game in development. Funny enough I thought it was EA's job, not Microsoft's, to get me excited about their games. The only two exclusives that I will lamment not being able to play for a while are Cuphead and and that Super Foxxy platformer game. Forza 7 looks cool, but I am probably going to get my racing sim fix with Gran Turismo Sport which we will probably see more of tomorrow.

Now onto Bethesda later tonight! Ultra hyped about this one!

I used to think that Wii U was the worst name for a console ever, but Microsoft made me rethink it.
XBox One X is, by far, worse!

Let's see if we were to narrow down the way we normally do you know like NES, SNES, PS$, XBone the XBox One X would be... XBOX... Wait...

Xbox One X is more redundant.  I don't think it's worse, because "Wii" and "Wii U" are vastly stupider, but man, I did not expect this.  I feel like they were stuck with something like this though, because they screwed up from the start by naming the console "Xbox One" to begin with.  It was always a poorly conceived name, built around their inane idea of "This thing does everything, in one, TV, TV, TV".  They also couldn't go and name it like "Xbox 4", because it's a mid-level console advancement, not a brand new generation.

Well, The XBox e3 conference was ok. I knew that the Scorpio, or now the XBox One X(lol), was the main focus.
I like that they are bringing OG XBox compatibility. I'm sure they will be selective with the games though, but I'm glad Crimson Skies will be among them.
Sea of Thieves and Super Lucky's Tale look cool.

Overall, the XB1X looks impressive...I have to save up $500 for one though. I may think about trading my current XBOne perhaps. I'll figure it out...

Can't wait for Sony and Nintendo's conference now!

I'm pretty excited about original XBox compatibility. My original XBox is starting to have issues with discs, so it'll be nice knowing that at least a part of my library will stay playable long after.

But going away from that, that was really the biggest thing from that for me. The games look alright, but nothing particularly stands out, either.

While the One X does look impressive, I'm not going 4K any time soon, so I'm not interested in taking that $500 dive.

I really hope Bethesda announces the new Elder Scrolls tonight, or Nintendo pulls out some incredible game line-up for the Switch that makes me buy one (*cough*Metroid*cough*).

One of the games I'm excited for, Dragon Ball FighterZ, I really hope gets an English dub.  I don't believe Extreme Butoden had it, which was a game Ark System Works did before on 3DS, but that was a much smaller and simpler game.  I'm hoping that since this game looks bigger and better, that they are going full English dub, because man, I hate the Dragon Ball voice acting lol Grandma Goku is the worst and she plays like 3 main characters who all sound the same.  I know there are DB fans that like her, but Dragon Ball has been one of the few animes that I just do not like the the original voices much at all.  I put up with it in Super because I don't want to wait for the show, but I'll never truly like it lol

*EDIT*
Bethesda was fine, your standard show, no crazy surprises.  Evil Within 2 looked really cool, even though I haven't played the first one and one game I was hoping for, Wolfenstein 2, happened! So that's great for me.  Hilarious moment was seeing the Amiibo support for Skyrim lol

I've actually never watched E3 presentations, but this time I did because good ol' Mister Metokur made it palpable with his stream. Just palpable though, because everything revealed was basically garbage.

$500 worse-PC from Microsoft sure is a larf. Play a single exclusive racing game on it! It's bad for them, but actually good for gamers so they don't have to buy that crap. None of the games they showed excited me at all... In fact, Cuphead, the only thing I cared about at all had a little brushed over trailer that only revealed "Mid-2017" means "All-but-Q4 2017" and that does not make me a happy camper. Nothing else stood out. Shadow of War maybe I'll try... I never played the first one, so it may be good. Overall, D- presentation, see me after class.

Then Bethesda. Nobody watches Bethesda for anything but the reveal of Elder Scrolls 6, which they of course didn't deliver on because who even wants money? Get your VR here! Get your Elder Scrolls spin-offs nobody cares about here! Dishonored DLC or new game? I dunno, either way I don't care. New Wolfenstein... I dunno, probably alright but nothing I care about. Oh, and of course... payed mods! That worked out soooooooooo well the first time, people are just gonna line up for it now! I predicate pirates setting them straight pretty quickly. They get a D... they probably feel better about it since they outscored Microsoft, but I am still calling their parents.

Well Bethesda's conference was pretty dissapointing.

Half the conference was about games that are already out, with barely any new content being announced, or newer versions of those games being announced (aka VR versions of Fallout 4 and Doom). The new games they did announce I had issues with as well, well at least one of them. I never played The Evil Within so it is hard for me to get hyped about its sequel. As for Wolfenstein; it is a continuation of The New Order which is one of the worst FPS games I've played in recent years. Needless to say I will not be playing the New Colossus.

But the biggest let down was the lack of any mention of a new single player Elder Scrolls game. It has been 6-years since Skyrim was released and I am so fucking tired of Bethesda trying to push Elder Scrolls Online down our throats like it is the new evolution of the series! NO IT IS NOT!! Even a brief 30-second trailer simply with the name of the new Elder Scrolls and some cool narration would have been enough. Overall though, I had high hopes for Bethesda's press conference and was let down severely.

Do you not play many FPS games? I mean it's fine to not like Wolfenstein, some games aren't for everyone, but it's a pretty good shooter, so I'm kinda confused to hear someone call it in the worst shooter they've played in recent years.  I was actually hopeful we'd see a sequel to the game, which we got, making it kinda the only highlight of the Bethesda show.  I mean, if you've only played a couple FPS games over the past like 5 years, maybe it could seem that way, but I found that I enjoyed my time in Wolfenstein more than I did Doom, which I know for many is quite the opposite as people went fucking nuts for Doom.

- cliche "what if the Nazis won WW2" story
- bullet sponge enemies
- hit scanning enemies
- disjointed writing and plot with a poor flow
- manually having to pick up ammo and weapons
- a main character that literally mumbles half of his dialogue throughout the game
- poorly designed scripted sequences
- Clunky stealth system
- No Hitler

I could go on and on to be honest. The game was garbage imo, definitely not a worthy successor to the original or Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I play a decent amount of FPS games (not into most military FPS games, but other than that I am typically game), and funny you should say you liked New Order more than Doom, because I couldn't be more the opposite; I LOVED the new Doom lol.

I would 100% disagree with everything you said as that isn't the game I saw or most people saw really, but I can see we would be on two vastly different ends of the spectrum, so not really worth discussing lol Can't make you like something anymore than I would for another game I don't like.

As for Doom, Doom is fine, it's just a basic shooter.  Nothing really new added, nothing really interesting done with the game, it was a pretty bog standard shooter as far as they go today, just all put together in a very slick, modern, package.  I think it just comes down to me wanting a little more out of my experience than just mindlessly fighting enemy waves.  It's why I don't get into horde modes in games or play stuff like Killing Floor.  That stuff has been done to death for years, so Doom rarely excited me.  I also wanted to like the music more, but the music only works ingame as outside of the game it's grating garbage lol

*EDIT*
And just to spin this back to actual E3 talk, so that ingame mod system they brought up involved actually buying the mods?  Reading on it, mods will still be there, 100% free, but then there will be a separate mod system that's curated, original, third party, content, that you pay money for.  It's essentially creating a DLC service within the game.  Paid mods didn't work before, I can't see why they think it'll work now.

For Microsoft not actually announcing any 1st party titles other than Forza, their conference was really good.

I really liked Wolfenstein when it came out, felt too short, but it was a great game.  I wouldn't call the "What if the Nazi's won WW2" a cliche.  I mean, I can't think of a single game that does exactly that other than Wolfenstein, but I suppose I could be wrong.

Doom VFR is going to be on PSVR, so I'm hoping that Fallout will follow suit so I don't have to get a Vive.

Overall, I'm not surprised by anything Bethesda announced.  I was expecting a new Wolfenstein, Evil within, and something from Arkane, I expected more about ESO, Legends, Quake, and VR.  A little surprised that they didn't have anything on Battlecry though.  Definitely didn't expect anything new on the Scrolls or Fallout front.

I can't think of any games either, but there are novels and several TV shows that are either based on this premise or have at least touched on it in an episode or two. The two that come to mind are some show that I believe was on Netflix (can't remember the name) and an episode in the original Star Trek series was about this. My point is that it is far from being an original idea. I guess calling it a cliche was a little harsh and not entirely fair.

Most of my points are objective so disagreeing with them is denying they exist. I understand the quality of the story is more of a subjective point and some place where people could derive value in the game, but I was obviously not a fan.

Doom's story was nothing special, but that wasn't one of its selling points to begin with. It was super fast faced, well balanced, beautiful, and intense as hell. The game knew what it was from the very beginning and just did not give a shit and I loved it. My eyeballs were watering from not blinking due to all the insane action around me complimented by excellent controls. Funny enough it was one of the best FPS games I've played recently.

While the majority of your statements are objective, the disliking the game because of those things is subjective.

Literally the only things listed that I think hinder the game were the manual pick ups and the clunky stealth system.

I wouldn't say the enemies in Wolfenstein were any more bullet spongey than the Doom enemies, Doom maybe more so towards the end.

The mumbling makes sense in that he was trying to hide that he is an American.

I felt that the flow of the story was right for what was trying to be conveyed.  Normally by the end of a game, I feel so sluggish and tired that I never want to play it again.  I finished the game feeling like it ended too soon and started over again.  That is an extremely rare thing for me.

The No Hitler thing goes into a different thing.  IMO, if Hitler was killed, it would make it a tad harder to continue the story, also, I feel in Wolfenstein, Mecha-Hitler is overplayed and not welcome.  I rather welcome that through all of BJs hard work, he only did so much damage to the Nazi powerhouse.  And I'm sure the second game is going to really convey just how hard it is going to be to topple the giant.

After the Xbox One X, their next system will be the Xbox One ZX Advent.

Super Xbox One EX + Alpha: Hyper Edition

I spoke with one of the local GS managers that I'm friends with today and he was talking about how he hates the name because it will make it more difficult to explain the different consoles to the average customer. He brought up that Xbox One X and S sound pretty similar, and it's generally confusing - having seen the average GS customer I can sympathize with him. I just think it's a dumb name, but it's what I've come to expect from Microsoft.

I did see a few games in their conference that interested me, but since they're all either multi-console or also coming to PC, I'm good. Probably the new Metro game & what they showed of Shadows of War interested me the most, but I still need to finish the first games in both of those series.  Oh, and glad to see Cuphead finally got a release date.

I enjoyed the Bethesda conference well enough, probably because Wolfenstein, The Evil Within 2 & the new Dishonored all really interested me (in that order). The earlier stuff they covered was interesting enough - if/when they announce that Fallout 4 VR is coming to PS4VR, I'll be picking one of those up.

Like everyone else, really looking forward to Sony's show tonight.

Ubisoft actually had a fairly good show this time.  They cut out most of their usual nonsense that made their stuff very cringy and it's better for it.

Highlights for me personally was Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, which looks like a lot of fun and out in August. South Park was always gonna be entertaining, but now we got a release date for October.  Skull & Bones has potential as it's basically a multiplayer version of the ship stuff in AC: Black Flag and it has Krakens to fight which is awesome.  And while I never played the first game, Beyond Good & Evil 2 itself looks good, but it's still a long way out, probably late 2018, 2019 at the earliest.

I have one duke and 3 S controllers. I'm saving the Duke to punish that unfortunate 4th player, haha >: )

Never played nor seen a Duke in the wild. I brought my OG Xbox in the 2nd year of it's life didn't come with that. Kinda want a duke out of curiosity.

It's nice to see Beyond Good and Evil getting the recognition it deserves. I've never played it, but it is one of those games that its fans have been feverishly wanting a sequel to for over a decade. It has inspired me to want to try it out for myself.

I watched Bethesda's e3 last night and it was ok. The only things that really stood out for me were the Link amiibo support for Skyrim and Wolfenstein 2, for which I'm pretty excited about. Quake Championship looks fun to.

I won't bother watching Ubisoft's e3, but I have seen the trailer for Mario + Rabbids and it looks fun. Also South Park: FBW should be great.

EDIT: Oooh! BG&E 2! Sweet! Finally!

And Sony will take that idea and call theirs Mighty PS. 5

I instantly recognized it was Airbourne, their stuff is great, and it's hilarious seeing that in a Mario game.  It was like back in the Sponge Bob movie when they had Motorhead playing in a bar lol

I was fairly disappointed in the Sony conference, mostly because all they did was show off games we already knew about with a few exceptions. The most excited I got about any of those games was the Shadow of the Colossus remake which is now a 12-year old game technically. Days Gone looks promising as does the new GoW, but overall there isn't too much on the horizon that interests me from Sony, at least these AAA titles. Was hoping Sony would be hitting another home run like they have over the past 3 or 4 years, but these year it was barely enough to get them to first base.

Really hoping Nintendo has some magic in store for us because this has been the worst E3 in probably 5-years imo. There is also the trickle of other third party announcements which hopefully will have some cool stuff in store.

Just watched Sony's E3 and it was OKAY.
The new God of War is coming along nicely.
I'm all for a new Uncharted as always. Even if there's no Drake.
Spider Man looks pretty sweet.
A lot of folks wanted to see the FF7 remake. Is Square-Enix doing their own Conference? Maybe they'll show it themselves...
People also wanted to see Shenmue 3. Yeah, I wished the shown it, but maybe they are not ready yet. Oh well, it'll be delayed till 2018.
The the remake of Shadow of the Colossus looks great.

I don't have VR so I could care less for that...
So yeah, there are a few games I'll be looking forward to playing.

Can't wait for Nintendo's tomorrow.
Title: Re: E3 2017!

Yeah it was pretty underwhelming. They had almost no big guns to show off compared the last shows they did.  No FF7, KH3, Last of Us 2, Shenmue 3, whatever From Software might be doing.  Monster Hunter World seems cool, I'll finally play one of these games, and what they showed of games we already knew of were good like Spiderman and God of War, but that was mostly it.  Shadow of the Colossus looked cool, but yeah, it's just a remake.  At least it'll run good this time compared to the original and Last Guardian lol

One takeaway I had is that I would be pissed if I owned a PSVR.  Those were some nothing games they showed off.  Maybe "The Inpatient" could be something, but that would be disappointing to me.

FF7 remake is going to be the next 10+ year teaser game since they finally released FFXV. They still have Kingdom Hearts 3 to troll us with as well. I'm not going to lie, Square is a piece of shit compared to what they once were.

They announced prior to E3 that Shenmue 3 would not be appearing this year, which sucks, but maybe next year.

I thought Sony had a good show despite the audio issues at the start. They didn't top last year or 2015, but with their upcoming slate of games I think it worked to show us how the games previously announced are coming along. The opening with the live music and water fountain for Uncharted were neat. I'm very excited for God of War and Spider-Man. Days Gone and Detroit look promising. I'm surprised Monster Hunter is coming back to PlayStation with how much success the series has had being on Nintendo platforms. Marvel Vs Capcom looks stupidly fun.

Did anyone watch the pre-show? The Crash Trilogy remake looks fantastic. Undertale coming to PS4 and Vita is big. Plus, there will be physical release from Fangamer.

It has a pretty crazy fanbase and has for a while. I personally have never played the first one, but have owned it for years and it is definitely on the backlog. I'm happy for those who have wanted it for so long and (might) be getting it in the near future.

Soooo...after reading some information about the Beyond Good and Evil sequel, I'm wondering if it's going to be as bad as it sounds.

"It’s a prequel set before the birth of the original game’s protagonist, Jade."

Jade was the only character that was tolerable in the game. So, no Jade at all?

"A seamless online world."

That's so far-removed from the first game. The first game had nooks and crannies to explore, but it was still more story focused. This is making it sound like the opposite.

"There is a 'seamless online playground' where players can travel across space to discover cities. In a supplemental video, Ancel explained that the seamleessness means you can go from the interior of a building on the ground of a planet out into space."

To quote a friend of mine, "Well, that worked out really well for No Man's Sky..."

"'As a player you can have very, very big spaceship,' Ancel said in a video Ubisoft posted shortly after the conference. 'You can use it as a garage for your other spaceships. You also have a crew.'"

Umm...yay?

"The game supports solo and co-op play."

The first game might not have been my thing, but not once was I yearning for co-op play. It was fine as a solo game. God forbid a video game be a one-person experience and still make a profit.

Is this really the sequel the fans asked for? It takes place before we meet Jade and sounds like another open-world snooze fest. A buddy of mine said it best. "Nobody wanted any of this. Way to Ubisoft this, Ubisoft. You did exactly what I expected you to do and it's hard to be mad about it."

Really disappointed the conference ended on Spider-Man.  I feel like I've already played that game ten times over.  Wish insomniac was working on original ip, Spider-Man seems like a waste of their talents.  Was hoping to see Sucker Punch's new game.  The personal highlight of the show for me was hearing about the undertale collectors edition for PS4 and vita

The 3DS is old news.  It's a dying console.  It looks like ass compared to the Switch.  I'm disappointed that the Metroid game is for the 3DS.  I have one.  I liked it, but it's time is over.

Apparently Prime 4 isn't being made by Retro Studios but rather an entirely new studio.

So now I'm wondering what Retro Studios is working on, I've heard they are finally getting the freedom to make a new IP, but we'll just have wait.

Because there's no reason to do a big push for the 3DS.  It's got a year or two left and the Switch is its replacement.  Plus they went and announced 3DS games at Treehouse Live for it in what was essentially an extended presentation of everything.  Reel it back in, there's no need to be so upset lol

With E3 mostly done, all the major announcements being out there, this is how I saw it, with the games that interested me and the ones that I am excited for and this includes stuff already revealed, not just unknown reveals.  Also not gonna count stuff that had no information like Pokemon for Switch or Metroid Prime 4, because there was nothing accompanying them.  Realized that three levels would be better as I have the stuff I think will be a blast, stuff I think is good, but either I've known about for awhile or are just gonna be fine, and then interested is more "I want to be super into this, but I'm playing the waiting game".

EXCITED
Mario + Rabids Kingdom Battle
Wolfenstein 2
Monster Hunter World
Super Mario Odyssey
Metro Exodus
Dragonball Fighter Z

GOOD
South Park: Fracture But Whole
Far Cry 5
Crash Bandicoot Trilogy
Shadow of the Colossus
God of War
Ori 2
Spider-Man
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Fire Emblem Warriors

INTERESTED
Battlefront 2
Anthem
Evil Within 2
Skull & Bones
Days Gone
Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite
Code Vein
Cuphead
Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor.

Don't think I missed anything, but it's a pretty god dang good list.

This is such a impressive beast that puts the PS4 Pro to shame.  I hope Sony makes the PS5 right after.  If they plan on floating by on just PS4 Pro they are going to lose a lot of 4K TV owning customers who are going to buy this 6 teraflop beast of a console.

Sadly 500 is pricey for a reiteration of the original xbox even though it upscales the old games as well as make 1080 look better with smoother visuals and textures.  I don't think i will buy one unless gamestop does a good trade in promotion on the old xbox ones :).

What is everyone's thoughts on Xbox One X :D.     It was the star of E3 for me and the new forza looks stunning.  The visuals and textures look enhanced and i think it will be a powerhouse.

My favorite part about it is that it's not a new console entirely.  Which means old xbox one games will play on it,  no worry for backwards comaptability and the new games will play on old consoles as well.  Its very nice.  I wish it came bundled with an elite paddle for that price though.    :)

Also the original duke "fat boy" controller from original xbox is being remade for Xbox One!!  Soo pumped for that.  Just for novelty sake. http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/06/12/e3-2017-original-xbox-duke-controller-returns-for-xbox-one

The XBox One X is poorly named and will likely only offer Microsoft a relatively normal boost in console sales.  Sure, it's the first one into the 4k gaming console scene, but I don't think they have the games to really back it up.  It'll run multi-platform games the best most likely compared to the Pro, but Playstation has the biggest piece of the market right now for console gaming and a pretty serious exclusive game list to back itself up, which is one reason Xbox hasn't been doing so great in comparison and I don't think their showing did enough to say otherwise.

I thought the showing of the system was good, it's very slick and well designed, and Microsoft is doing some nice stuff with backwards compatibility, but I was not impressed with their game showing.  Forza 7? Eh.  Crackdown 3? Genuinely underwhelming showing.  Sea of Thieves? Probably will be fine, but that's not a system seller.  Cuphead/Ori 2? Great games that aren't big games.  They had no really big guns for it and I think that'll hurt them.

In the end, while the XboneX will be more powerful, it'll also be a 100 dollars more than the Pro (maybe even more if Sony gets extra cheeky and knocks something off the price tag around then) and Playstation is already dominating.  Microsoft is swimming upstream and I don't know if it has enough to compete with the dominant Sony and the possible revival of Nintendo.

Also the "Duke" was awful lol I think the only more awkward official controller I had used was the N64 one.  I was so glad to get the S controller at the time.

The real kicker is that since the cpu is just based on the xbox one design, its gonna bottleneck which will mostly result in 1800p upscaled to "4k" at hopefully 60 fps.

Most of the features they announced like the og xbox emulator, cuphead, and ori 2 are coming to pc anyways. Even Raiden V (which was a xbone exclusive in japan) is only getting a release in the west on ps4, along with all of the other niche titles getting ps4/pc releases. I'll probably be mostly sticking w/ pc; $500 for xbonex isn't really worth it imo.

Title: Re: E3 2017!

Yeah the Xbox One X didn't hype me up for getting an Xbone, it just cemented my desire to upgrade my PC and I'm looking at a new graphics card and maybe doubling my RAM to 16gb lol Nearly everything they are releasing is coming to PC.  The Xbox One X has it's place, but I don't think many avid PC users are going to be switching over.

And really, how big of a thing is 4k really?  Hard to find numbers, but one place I found says that 4k TV household ownership will jump to 34% in 2019.  So basically a third of households in 2 years will even own a 4k TV.  Xbox will be on the ground floor, but the PS5 is gonna come eventually and it won't have that advantage forever.  People will go to the shelves and see the Xbone S for half the price, which plays all the same games and also has the backwards compatibility and just go with that.  Teraflops and RAM aren't gonna mean too much then.

On the other hand...Minecraft in 4k.  All those gloriously pixelated blocks and getting features PC users have had in Minecraft for years now! Too tempting to pass up...

Wat?  How is the OG Xbox emulator coming to PC?  Is the 360 emulator on PC?

I really dont think it matters what Xbox does at this time, they are not going to compete with the library that Sony has and that is what defines gaming is the games.

Except for a handful of exclusives, they have pretty damn similar libraries. It's basically like this: If you like Halo or Gears of War buy an XBox, if you like Uncharted or God of War buy a PlayStation.

XBox vs. PlayStation is just laughable compared to the console wars of yesteryear. It used to be that owning a Genesis or SNES would get you completely different feeling libraries. Nintendo is really the only unique console manufacturer anymore.

Xbox is a wasteland when it comes to anything from Japanese devs aside from a few titles as well. Which is a real shame, past Xbox consoles have had some great exclusives from Japanese devs.

I think this was the weakest E3 I've ever watched.

What I'm excited for:

-Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (Why isn't this Wolfenstein 3? There was the The New Order and the The Old Blood, both in the same storyline with the same characters.)

-Original XBox games backwards compatible with XBox One - Perfect timing for me since my original XBox is starting to have trouble reading discs.

-Metroid Prime 4 - OH HELL YEAH!!! This was the biggest moment of E3, for me. But all we got was a logo, so I'm expecting this 2-3 years down the line.

-Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild Expansions - We already knew these were coming, but still, fan-freaking-tastic game, so it's good to be getting new content.

The XBox One X could be exciting, if I planned on getting a 4K T.V. in the near future, but I'm not.

And I might be excited for the new God of War, if I owned a PS4, but I don't.

Super Mario Odyssey looks fun and all, but it's just not enough to make me want to run out and buy a Switch since I already have it's best game on my Wii U (Zelda: BotW).

If I can finally play the Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball game that I have been keeping in a shoe box for almost four years I'll get one  :o

The XBox One X could be exciting

Bet that you aren't that excited, at least not like old Vince (http://i.imgur.com/LlzmrPG.jpg).

Watched Nintendo's e3 presentation. Nothing to spectacular but it was still good.
Nice that Nintendo knows Metroid still exists! lol
An OFFICIAL remake of Metroid II and Metroid Prime 4 are in the works.
More new amiibo...Ooh boy. More collectables to suck the cash out of my wallet. Oy Vey!
New Yoshi and Kirby games. I'm sure they'll be fun.
Gameplay trailers for Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
A new Core Pokemon game is planed for the Switch. Who knows when that will be ready. I'm sure that will print them money.
They show cased the Breath of the Wild expansions.
Also, Rocket League is coming to Switch.
And lastly, new footage of Super Mario Odyssey. It's looking better by the minute.

Overall, it was adequate. No announcements of a Switch port of Smash Bros. 4 or new F-Zero or anything. Oh well.

It's more than just their one or two mainstays.  Sure, it's not as extreme as back in the day, but Playstation just objectively has a bunch more exclusives, even if we allow Xbox to have their PC ports.  Alot of it comes fromm the fact that the Xbox does not have a very big Japanese developer support and that accounts for a lot of games its not getting.  Yakuza, Nioh, alot of JRPG's, and others.

Oh yeah, I forgot about The Evil Within 2. That looks good. I still have yet to play the first game, though.

So even though you might have to pay for it on pc, it'd still be a worthwhile option for me.

We have been very spoiled these past four years at E3, especially the last two years. There have been way worse E3 conferences, especially in the early 2010s. I think you should watch some of them on youtube if you want to see a really bad E3 lol. I feel like this year was below average, but not horrible.

E3 was pretty disappointing overall and a little surprising; I'd never thought that Ubisoft and Nintendo would have the best conferences, especially Ubisoft who releasing a game I'm interested in maybe once every decade. With that said, here is what I liked the most out of E3 2017:

- Shadow of the Colossus remake looks amazing!
- I am getting more and more interested in the new God of War
- Days Gone looks very promising
- Really hope Cuphead gets a Windows release
- Dragon Ball FighterZ looks fucking incredible!
- I am so happy Mario Odyssey comes out this year
- I am also thrilled to hear a main Pokemon game is being developed for the Switch
- Beyond Good and Evil 2 looks very interesting, just hope it actually gets released before the end of the decade

E3 to me was adequate overall. Nothing to mind blowing but a good amount of surprises to. Sadly some disappointments also. But oh well. In the end, it's the gamers who win. We will get to play these great new games eventually.

Also i'm strangely really waiting for the new Spider Man game!
