I'm not actually an evil, powerful wizard.  I'm just a nerdy guy with too many Seattle Mariners hats.

General / Re: The VGC List o' Badges
« on: April 13, 2016, 01:35:27 pm »
Are we getting any new badges anytime soon? Or even a way for them to show under user photos in the forum? I donated and don't think I got the Pro Supporter badge that was one of the donation incentives.  :P

Badges are kind of on the backburner at the moment.  Only the edit badges work currently.

As far as the Pro badges go those have to be individually awarded by our head admin/programmer Jason.  I have upgraded your forum status and you should see the badge in the next few days or so.  :)

Those picture from the museum are great.  Incredible pieces of gaming history there.

Classic Video Games / Re: High school retro game class
« on: April 08, 2016, 04:49:43 pm »
That sounds like an awesome class!  I'd recommend, like Kashell said, to include an RPG.  I think it would be interesting for the class to see some of the early groundbreaking RPGs like Wizardry, Dragon Warrior, etc.  The main problem you run into is there is no way to cover all of the important aspects of the 8-bit era.  Hell you could probably do a class on a single genre of a single console generation if you went in depth enough.

Off Topic / Re: Rank the Star Wars movies
« on: April 01, 2016, 04:45:50 pm »
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. The Force Awakens
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. Return of the Jedi
6. Attack of the Clones
7. Phantom Menace

My only "controversial" Star Wars opinion is Revenge of the Sith is above Return of the Jedi in my rankings.  It could be since I was two years old when the prequel series started, so the prequels have always been a part of the franchise for me.  I don't have a kneejerk negative reaction when they are mentioned (Although in general I far prefer the originals).  While I don't think AotC or PM are very good, I genuinely enjoy watching RotS.

Video Game Database Discussion / Re: Entry mistake

I accidentally entered the same game three times in the database. Cosmic Family Wii (EU). Sorry for the mistake.

No problem.  They have been deleted  :)

Could someone delete this entry, since trying to post two items at the same time makes a damn chimera

Got it  :)

Oops I accidentally downloaded a picture of Jar Jar Binks, logged in to the forum administrator tools, and changed gf78's profile picture to the Jar Jar Binks photo I downloaded.

Don't you just hate it when that happens!

gf78's post made me laugh, but there should be some punishment. No PS4 for a week? Writing "I love the Xbone" on the chalkboard 100 times? Sitting in time-out for the rest of the day with nothing but a Game Gear that only has enough battery power for a 30 minutes?

No, Jar Jar as his profile pic for a week. And it can't be one depicting hate for the Character

Hmmm looking at the admin settings apparently I have the ability to change profile pictures ;)

Classic Video Games / Re: What does your collection specalise in?
« on: March 11, 2016, 04:55:10 pm »
I'd like to think it specializes in games that don't suck, but given that I have a few duds in there, I'd say I'm mainly focused on RPGs, fighting games, survival horror, and shmups. Most of the emphasis has been on PS1 and PS2, but that's changing bit by bit to be more PC-centric.

Hello Stranger!  :o

When I started collecting I kind of bought anything I could find, but now I usually buy only what I am interested in.  Really though my collection specializes in buying too many games that I don't have time to play  ;D

I generally don't use cheats as I feel it cheapens the achievement of completing the game.  I do however use guides if I am doing a 100% run of a game and cannot find every single secret item.

To be completely honest over the past two years or so I have not gamed nearly as much.  It used to fill most of my free time, but except for a few cases where I have gotten really into a game, I probably only get a couple of hours of gaming in a week if that.  I don't know why, but often I'll start a game and then just not find as much enjoyment as I used to and end up thinking about work, school, etc. while playing rather than relaxing. I hope to change that with the recent release of Twilight Princess HD and my upcoming spring break :)

Stopped by Gamestop today and picked up the Twilight Princess HD Amiibo Bundle :)
