My parents did some spring cleaning and just a general culling of the herd.  I got a phone call asking, "Do you want your old Atari?" Heck Yeah I do!  That was a pretty awesome find.  It turns out, it wasn't my old woodgrain Atari.  It was a Vader style one that I have no idea where it came from.  Now, I need for figure out where my old Atari went.

We had that for an old IBM computer.  It had one 5.25 disk drive, no hard drive, and a DOS boot disk.  It was the opposite of awesome.

The only thing close to censorship at my house for video games came a little before Christmas when I was in 6th grade.  I had Mortal Kombat for the SNES near the top of the list.  My mom set me down and said, "Do you know what Mortal Kombat means?"  I said, "Yeah, you kill the other guy."  Being the smart ass I was, I went on with my logic, "Mom, how much Duck Hunt have I played on my Nintendo?  Have I ever wanted to go duck hunting?"  I still think that is pretty sound logic.  She still likes to tell that story.  She thinks that's big league funny.

In case you're wondering, I got Mortal Kombat that Christmas.

Zombie Thread!  It's back from the dead! 

Anyway, outside of old school games I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  I've been doing it for about 4 years, and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.  I get to do something physical and stay in some kind of shape, but it is acutally fun as apposed to running. 
It is the ultimate stress reliever.  Whenever someone is trying to choke you unconsious, you can't think about anything else.

VGCollect for Android / Any Chance for an iPhone App?

I know I'm the new guy here and I'm sure this has been asked.
Is there going to be an iPhone App?  I love the Android app, but when the iPhone 5 comes out, I'm making the switch.  I don't mind paying a little for it, and I don't think other people will either.

Classic Video Games / Gaming Shows and Podcasts

Are there any videogame shows out there that you are a fan of?
I'm a fan of a few.  Most of them I have found through and they are hosted by Retrowaretv.com.  The RetrowareTV show is awesome when they come out with a new episode.  It's real informative and more like the Discovery Channel than reviews.
The Game Chasers are awesome.  It's like American Pickers with video games.  I'm a huge fan of this one.  I guess it's just like what we all do, but they tape it all.
Pat The NES Punk and The Happy Video Game Nerd have great shows over there as well.  And the list goes on and on.
That really sounds like an ad for the site doesn't it?  Anyway, I would suggest checking those shows out either on the site or on youtube. 
Are there any shows you guys are into?  I'm always looking to find more to watch.  I have 10 min to watch something sometime during every day.

My wife thinks I have at least 800 that I won't sell.   

As long as it doesn't get to be real hard times, I will keep at least one copy of everything I have.

I have a few.   The 40 or so NES games that I had as a kid I will never get rid of.  I just hope I keep the right ones and don't sell them as doubles.  Maybe I'll be buried with Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! and Contra.

What I hate with a burning furvent passion is EBAY.  I don't hate the site.  It's cool the stuff you can find on there.  I hate the fact that everyone that has a few games prices them vs. ebay.  If I go to a pawn shop looking for games, there is no chance I'm paying $12 for (insert random game).  Everyone thinks they have something special because its a 20 year old video game.  There's half a million in the world and you want to think Rush n' Attack is rare.

I refuse to collect for the Playstation because I was a huge Nintendo fanboy.  I loved the N64 at the time and hated the playstation.  Also, it seems too new, even though it was the same generation as the N64 and the Dreamcast.  I don't know, maybe it's just not for me.

What's up world!  My name Jason.  I go by Turf out here in the interwebs.  I started out as a NES collector, but it turns out that was a gateway drug.  Now I collect for most consoles up to the Dreamcast.  I just refuse to start collecting for Playstation.  I guess I should, since it's still in that "not collectable" stage. 
Anyway, I love the NES and it is the center of my collecting problem. 
Nice to meet you guys and I'll try to add a little bit to these forums.
