Red Dead Redemption II
I’m playing it now for the second time. This game deserves to be HBO series. It’s amazing. The characters and story get you right in the feels

Years ago, I was making an attempt to get good at a no glitch run of Super Mario Bros.  I got pretty fast. Still off the world by 30 seconds, but I was fast. I could finish it in less than 6 minutes, closer to 5 1/2.
I was pretty good. Those guys going for the top spot play perfect.

Modern Video Games / Re: Where do you draw the line? New Game Prices

I don’t seriously believe that R* is going to try to charge $150 for GTA 6, unless it is a version that includes all the future DLC. Then, it might happen.  They may do a $150 collectors edition. I could see that happening.
Rockstar does like to have different levels of releases. Deluxe editions, Super Deluxe editions, Super Mega Deluxe editions and the like.

Here’s my best prediction:
$80 Base Game
$90 Deluxe Edition including Base Game + Season 1 Pass + some exclusive item you can only get by buying this edition
$100 Super Mega Deluxe Edition with the Deluxe Edition and some online game money

That’s my best guess. We’ll see how it goes.

As for new game prices?  They don’t bother me much. I don’t buy many brand new games.

My guy, Justin, had some stuff for sale.
I liked his stuff
He liked my money
We made a trade
His stuff = my money

I’m happy. He’s happy.

It was fast and friendly and fun!  I like buying stuff from Justin!

Modern Video Games / Where do you draw the line? New Game Prices

So, there’s a rumor out there that Grand Theft Auto 6 could cost up to $150. It has cost something to the tune of $2 BILLION (with a B) to make. It’ll be a banger of a game.

PS5 games have gone up to $70. That makes sense. Games have been $60 for 100 years.  It was time for a price increase. I just don’t know high folks will go for Day 1 releases.

What do you think?  How high can prices get before you bail?

This was one of my favourite games as a kid, but I was a weird kid.

I had it for PC. I played the heck out of it!  I loved that you could take control of the spider and eat all the red ants

I’m in. I’ll give this a whack

Favorite 2023 Release: Super Mario Wonder
I still haven’t finished it, but damn it’s fun. I caught myself smiling when Wild shit would happen.
Vampire Survivors gets honorable mention here.

Least Favorite 2023 Release: I’m not a negative guy. I’m going to skip this.

Favorite Game Played in 2023: Mother Truckin Red Dead Redemption 2. I started this one again after about 4 years off. It is a damn masterpiece. It’s in the conversation for Best Game Ever.

Least Favorite Game Played in 2023: Being an adult and paying bills.

Sleeper Hit of 2023: Vampire Survivors is a simple little game where you just kill everything until the 30 minute mark when the Reaper comes for you. It’s cheap on Steam. Give it a go.

Favorite Gaming Moment in 2023: Getting back into playing games. I had just about fallen out of gaming. Just didn’t have time and didn’t have anything grab me. Then, I stumbled across a second-hand SteamDeck. I’m back, baby!  I’ve played more games since October than I have in the last 3 years.

Proudest Collection Accomplishment of 2023:  I broke the cycle of feeling like I was missing out. I only bought stuff I wanted to play this year. I even sold a few things that were taking up space. It’s personal growth.

Wait. Wrong forum.

Star Wars, Tombstone, Predator, most Marvel movies, and most recently Top Gun: Maverick

Why has Inspector Gadget not a game?  It would be perfect. You get power-ups Metroid style to progress.
That’s my random thought for the day.

I’m kinda glad there’s not a lot of great deals. I don’t need to buy anything. My backlog is out of control.

I’ll still buy something if it’s a deal and it interests me. I’m tired of having all this stuff. The list I want is really really small.

And to be honest with you, I’m buying more digital games. I know that’s a dirty word, but it’s cheap and it takes up zero room. I’d rather buy stuff on steam because that platform will be around longer than ps5 and switch and anything else.

I do pick up some physical stuff for switch and ps4, but it’s only stuff that i want to play. I’m basically out of collecting other than having a great big love for old games.

I suck at starting them.

My thing is, why feel obligated to beat every game? Unless the game is compelling enough to keep bringing you back to the point that you reach the end. There's no sense in trying to beat it. Is it just to say that you beat it?

If any game collector was honest, there's very few games probably worth the time to beat within our massive collections. My ambition is to play the games. Not necessarily to beat.

I’m with you.
I have very limited time. It better be worth it if I’m going to spend the time on something.

Well, it’s finally happened. The game room is packed up. I’m going through it a piece at a time deciding what to keep. It got to be too much.

I’m cutting this thing down to what something I can enjoy again. It was just too much.

In moderately rated news, the B.O.B (Big Ole Building) is gone. My podcast studio/game room made in an Amish-style barn is going on to be a tiny house for someone to rent out. I sold the whole building.

B.O.B 2.0 is in the development stages. If anyone wants to put in a bid on building a 30’x40’ building, I’m taking bids.

Where are y’all moving? Is it a place that’s cool with your other hobby?

And, yeah. Move your collection yourself.
