General / Re: What do you define as shovel-ware on a console?

That seems like a pretty good definition of shovel-ware really.  Movie Tie-Ins definitely seem to be the biggest issues with this.  Battleship, Expendables, that Amazing Spiderman 2 game more recently, games that very obviously didn't look like they had a lot of real effort put into them and were most likely rushed to market.

After getting absolutely frustrated by Trials Fusions with it's last maps, I went and bought Trials Evolution and am now back to generally enjoying the games lol It's some good fun with some nice challenge to it and I feel I like it more than Fusions.  Maybe it's the style, I kinda hate all the slick future stuff of that game, Evolutions is more dirty, it's lots of junk and it seems like there is more wildness put into it, more of a rock vibe.  Both are pretty solid, but like the last area or two, not including the Extreme maps, in Fusions are infuriating more than they are fun and I don't enjoy that.  I haven't wanted to snap a controller more than I have with that game lol

The best 3d platformer games? Particularly ps1?

My favorites are on N64, but for that I would say probably personally...Crash Bandicoot was a fun one.  I think the Gex series is on PS1 also and those games could be entertaining.  I know there are a few more I liked, just drawing a blank right now.
Did you like croc?

Can't say I ever played Croc.  I never particularly owned a PS1, so all of my time was at either a local trading card/sports shop where I would hang out playing PS1 games like Crash, Tekken 3, and Twisted Metal 2.  Then my friends had them which was how I got into some other games.

Ah ok. I thought maybe you did something like I almost did. Went through and was working on one cover and didn't do the spine logo, until I went to print it and noticed at the last second, haha.

I've been working on covers today too. So far I've knocked these out. I got lines through the cover of Bionic Commando: Elite Forces, but decided it wasn't worth reprinting. I may do it later, but it printed w/ Conker's and it turned out fine. If both had been funky I'd have tried again.

and my shelf, so far

I need that Conker's game lol They all look good though and it sounds like you had the same weird issue with printing sorta, like every other one printed out in a nicely quality, but the Zelda 2 of mine was kinda faded, though it was fresh thing of ink I had in it.  Odd, but still usable.

What's up with the spine one the blue Oracle game?

Well i couldn't find the same quality cover that would work as with Seasons, without all the advertisement stuff and on the cover picture, it has both those games displayed on it and while I probably could've edited it out, I kept it complete and let it wrap around the spine lol

And got my first games done! I still have one more Zelda game to go, I couldn't find a good cover at the moment, so I'll have to fool around with something for that, but I got 5 of the games done.  They all came out great, though for some reason the Zelda 2 came out not as dark for the black as I would've liked and the green on it was kinda faded also which was odd, but still looks good.

I'm probably not gonna do everything, just focus on certain games like the Mario's probably, but this is pretty cool to do ^^

they haven't even released the big Zelda title or really even the proper Mario title yet.

Wouldn't that be Super Mario 3D World? Or for the more traditional: New Super Mario U?

I agree with this^  Both of these games are great fully fledged Mario titles....  I enjoyed them both a lot....

They are proper Mario's for sure, but they aren't the ones that kinda lead to Mario doing different or new stuff like 64, Sunshine, or Galaxy. New Super Mario, and the 3D series, are very safe, standard, Mario games. Absolutely fun to play, but they don't bring much new excitement to the series.

I was born way after those days, so I never had one or knew anyone that had one growing up, so it has no appeal to me other than it's aspect of being an old game system which is cool.  Tried to play it a few times and that is just a big no lol

It's sorta like, I appreciate the Beatles for what they were to rock music, but I have very little interest in them musically XD

Thanks for another review though :)

Nah, Super Mario 3D World is more just like an extension of the New Super Mario Stuff and a sequel to 3D Land on the 3DS.  Really, it just feels like they took what was gonna be a 3DS sequel and then brought it onto the Wii U cause they really needed a big Mario game lol  I don't feel like it's had its Sunshine or Galaxy yet.

Hmm...interesting.

Anyway, I could see the Wii U as the next Gamecube, being that it was a good system but it was in last place to it's competitors at the time but it still was profitable and it had a strong first party line up of classic games.
It certainly is doing better than the Virtual Boy!

Yeah even if they can get into the black with the Wii U, it's never gonna take off, it's too late to suddenly gain steam I think.  I'll still enjoy it though, there's still like 4 really good looking games coming out this year for it and they haven't even released the big Zelda title or really even the proper Mario title yet.

Got the template last night and started working on creating my own covers for my Zelda games.  I have 5 of them finished, but with my test one today, I realized I was low on ink, so the quality is rather poor lol  Just fine for testing though.  Took a little extra trimming to fit inside, but it works well enough.

Should have the ink tomorrow, so I can probably have these 5 done this weekend.  Just have one more to make once I find a good cover art image.  That seems to be the challenging part at the moment, finding the right cover art that is large enough to fit the template.

Nah, that's pretty terribly really.  I'll be the nice guy here and take it off your hands though as it's just not worth the trouble to keep it.

Another batch of grabs from the thrift shop, this time being the first I've found actually older games from there and now I have to go look in the toy section every time to see if anything new is put there lol Nothing amazing in terms of the games, though I was glad to get Wario Woods and Sonic Spinball, though I just realized I already have it lol But for a buck a piece, I'm cool with anything for a buck.  Someone else had actually gotten to them before me, but only wanted some of the other SNES and N64 ones there were as I saw him buying them ahead of me.  Can't get em all I guess.
