Ooh... an interesting one.

In no particular order...
 - Final Fantasy 7 (both OG and Remake)
 - Double Dragon (NES)
 - Zelda Twilight Princess (GC)
 - Uncharted 2 and 4 (tie)
 - Ninja Turtles 2 (NES/Arcade)

Honorable mentions...
 - Burnout 3 (PS2)
 - Astro's Playroom (PS5)
 - Sonic CD
 - Tomb Raider 2013 (main theme)
 - Mass Effect 2 (maybe it's the series? -- Got it from the Legendary Edition)
 - Witcher 3
 - Midnight Club 2 (PS2)

Got sick of waiting for local stores to get Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered (PS5) in so I ordered it off of Amazon. I'll officially add it to the collection if it arrives in the mail like it says it will tomorrow. I generally like to support brick and motor stores, but if they can't be bothered to carry games I want to buy, then they will miss out on sales.

EDIT: Finally in hand.

Recently rebought 3 of my PS3 Assassin's Creed games in the AC Ezio Colleciton (PS4) and have been loving replaying AC2. This got me to thinking and not sure if anyone else does this, but today, I decided to use my "Currently Playing" list here on VGCollect as a way to keep track of what I used to own on PS3, but have yet to replace in remaster form... making them playable on PS4/5.

It was fun reminiscing about what I used to have. Titles I hadn't thought of in years came up as I went down a list on Wikipedia, and honestly... I kind of wish I still had many of them. Specifically the list of incredible arcade racers like Ridge Racer 7 and Motorstorm. Army of Two was another big one I wish would make a comeback, along with Infamous, Resistance, Killzone, Warhawk and quite a few others. Sony and other publishers are sitting on a gold mine of remaster possibilities and doing nothing with it. So sad.

Still, it was fun to go back and recall which ones I had and which ones I now have hope to see in the future, bringing them from PS3's locked ecosystem. Time will tell what happens.

Do you have a list of games you'd like to see make it into the modern ecosystems or are you good just grabbing the old hardware and enjoying them that way?

Picked up Assassins Creed Ezio Collection (PS4) yesterday. It was only $20 so pretty good for some of the best games in the series. Been slowly reclaiming my PS3 collection through remasters ever since selling the system and all games near a decade ago.

I was going to buy the Tomb Raider Remastered V1 (PS5) but absolutely nobody within an hour's drive bothered to order copies. Not Gamestop, Bestbuy, Target or even Walmart... and that's multiple of each. According to the guy at Gamestop, he said I need to preorder for a game store to carry the game. WTF? So screw it. I'll order it online as they obviously can't be bothered to carry product.

For the PS3/360 generation, I continued to stick with Playstation for even more reasons than the PS2 gen.
 - There were 15 games in production I knew I wanted to play on it; Uncharted being at the top.
 - Launch PS3's were backwards compatible with both PS1 and PS2 games.
 - Xbox 360 RRoD was in full effect already.
 - Xbox fans had proven to be complete dicks... even those working at the stores; story to follow.

I bought my launch PS3 about a week after launch, just before Thanksgiving. I had missed the slim window for preordering due to being at work and every day, would meander the local shops, asking if they'd gotten any shipments of PS3's in. For some background, I had worked at one of the two local EB Games stores a little better than a year prior to this for a couple years.

One day, I walked into the EB Games I hadn't worked at and did the usual asking. The guy behind the counter straight up lied, asking why I wanted a PS3 when 360 was going to be getting every game the PS3 has and that there were no exclusives on Playstation anymore. I laughed and called him out on it, after he said they didn't have any in stock but pushed for me to buy the 360 instead. I understood he was trying to make the sale, but bold face lying like that isn't the way to go about doing it. It wasn't long before he was insulting people that preferred Playstation and that didn't sit well with me.

The following day, I made my rounds again, going into the same store. I immediately saw the same guy, and reversed course, not wanting to deal with the fanboyism anymore. As I headed up the escalator, a familiar face was heading down the other. He used to be a coworker of mine at the other EB Games and we were friends. Within the few seconds of the escalator ride, I found out he had been promoted to store manager of this location and not only that, they had PS3's in stock... but only the 20GB models. I didn't care.

By the time he reached the bottom and I reached the top, I quickly flipped around and joined him in his store. As he went into the back to grab one of the systems, I waited at the counter. The jerk from before asked me if I had changed my mind and wanted to buy a 360 instead. I told him I was here for a PS3 and he said they didn't have any and I need to let it go, offering the 360 again. I simply smiled and waited until my friend came out with the PS3 and put it on the counter in front of me, telling me that they had just gotten a shipment yesterday but wasn't supposed to sell them until Black Friday, two days later. He made the exception for me and I bought the in store warranty, an extra controller and Resistance Fall of Man with it. The jerk was a mix of confused and irritated. I loved it.

For the PS2/Xbox gen, there were a few reasons I went with PS2 over Xbox.
 - Backwards compatible with PS1
 - I liked the controller already
 - Onimusha looked really good (and remains good)
 - Microsoft jumped into the console space by buying out talent instead of building it. Even back then I recognized this for what it was and wasn't a fan.

I didn't buy one at launch though as I had my Dreamcast and PS1. I waited until the following tax return came in... so April-ish of 2001. There was still a severe shortage of PS2 systems so every day I was calling stores within a 2 hour drive radius. Finally got lucky.

Well... lucky-ish. Got to the store where they were holding the PS2 for me. I had my PS1 with me to trade in and pay for the taxes. Went to pay for the PS2 and my card was declined. It hit me that I had forgot to transfer my tax return into my checking from my savings, not wanting to accidentally spend it. I told them I'd be right back and headed to the ATM. Savings accounts at the time had a max withdraw of $150 at my bank per day. So that was half. I scrambled having to leave the mall and head to Target to use my debit card and get cash back... $151 pack of gum. Then I had to race back to the mall as they were almost closing... the closest mall entrance had already been locked so I ran to the next and ran through the mall, full speed, looking like an idiot about to shit his pants. Made it to the store just as they were closing their gate. I was very happy they let me complete the transaction. I was sweating profusely, regardless of being in decent shape. Had the guys laughing a bit at me, but I had my PS2. I simply didn't have enough for the second controller or a game until I could transfer more money from my savings the following day.

It was the only Playstation I ever kept vertical and once I swapped it out with the PS2 Slim, I kept all systems horizontal from then on. As for the OG PS2 I had for many years... I fully upgraded it to play Resident Evil Outbreak at its best. I had purchased the HDD that came with one of the online FF games. I had purchased the online adapter. I even got it a USB keyboard for pregame chat. Good times.

Ghost of Yotei... finally... something from a Sony first party to look forward too. Hopefully it continues to be on track to release next year and doesn't get pushed.

Everything is revealed was kind of "meh" for me, but after 4 years, they finally showed something I can anticipate.

Early leak... TMNT Shredder's Revenge DLC -- Radical Reptiles, includes Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa with a retooled soundtrack. Should release tomorrow.

Aside from that, I would advise everyone to temper any enthusiasm for what Sony will show. Expect more of the same this generation has had to offer... mediocrity.

Incredibly impressive Lord of the Rings collection but... why a separate copy of the PS2 game for each card? Was it like Mortal Kombat Deception where one card came with a copy so buying the card meant getting another copy of the game?
exactly, wouldn't be filling the shelf unnecessarily, but this is what it takes to display them CIB as they would have been sold, with the callout on back and the cards inserted at random, with varying degrees of rarity.

Impressive that you were able to complete the collection. I now genuinely wonder if you're the only fan to have done it? Aside from those that worked on the game, I wonder if you may be the only person with a complete collection of them?

I get the hype and wanting brand new stuff from the current age.

But you could always go back to past era's of gaming, doubt many have enough time to finish everything anyway. There already is enough content out there to last one a lifetime aside from the chosen few who are playing games as a full time gig.

I'm actually planning on doing just that. The current PS/XB generation is... lacking. I decided to hold off until Nintendo announces the Switch successor and see if Zelda Twilight Princess and Wind Waker are announced for Switch or their new system. If not, I'll rebuy a Gamecube.

This idea goes back to my previous statement about how the video gaming industry's success relates to indie and third-party development.[/font]

I think the major difference between us Dhaabi is that I no longer have any optimism. None. It's gone on all levels. In all honesty, I expect to be killed by the end of next year in an attempt to protect my family. With that in mind, I try to have occasional fun with gaming, which used to be my favorite pasttime, but gaming is so far down the list on what's important, that any frustration that comes through in my posts is that what used to be my escape is now just the sprinkles of disappointment on top of the shit show that is modern reality.

Modern gaming is dying.

This is pretty far removed from the truth. I imagine that what you mean instead is AAA gaming is dying,

It's more than simply the industry not making games I enjoy anymore. It's that every week seems to be hundreds if not thousands of jobs lost. This week its hundreds fired from Microsoft studios. This year has been insane for those in the industry.

I own less than a dozen games and most of them are now on PC.

Out of the 16 PS5 games I've purchased, only 4 are PS5 generation exclusive and 1 is PS5 exclusive for now.
 - A Plague Tale: Requiem - On PC and Xbox
 - FF7 Rebirth
 - Helldivers 2 - On PC
 - Star Wars Jedi Survivor -- Coming to PS4 soon enough. On PC and Xbox

Most are ports from older generations like God of War R, Witcher 3 and MK11. Some go even older like Jurassic Park Collection and Sonic Origins Plus. Modern gaming is dying.

We need to tell those selling digital-only consoles that this will not be tolerated. The last new console I'll ever buy is likely the Switch 2.

Same, assuming the rumors that it'll still use physical media are true.

Backwards compatibility with Switch games will be a massive deciding factor for me buying the family a Switch 2 any time soon. In fact, if Twilight Princess isn't announced for Switch, I'm far more likely to just buy a Gamecube again instead.
