I watched all of 'The Burbs TV series in one sitting, it started right after the Super Bowl so I figured why not. I had some interest beforehand but wasn't sure I'd actually watch. I haven't seen the movie before watching but I just finished watching it and loved it. The show is fine. The end of the first episode and start of the second made me almost quit watching with the unnecessary stuff about racism but thankfully it was dropped after that as the formula for the show set in with that formula being constant bait and switches. The highlights are the setting/filming location being Colonial Street on the Universal backlot which is where the movie was filmed with tons of exterior shots which I loved and the show itself looks quite nice with Dolby Vision. I'd say by the fourth episode the show got into a satisfying enough groove and I liked the ending. There's only eight episodes and at some points I'd check to see how long I've been watching an episode and it was only halfway through but I left it running but for the most part it moved quickly. There are plenty of references to the movie including one or two cameos and a returning actress playing a different role.
