Revenge of the Sith is the only one of the three prequels I'll go back to watch now. It's actually fairly good and holds up way better than the first two, which I'm basically done ever watching again as they keep getting worse every time I watch them.
As for me, getting around to
The Last Jedi, the last of my watch of the modern films. I haven't seen this since the theater myself, but at the time I wasn't as bothered by it as others. Not that I thought it was great, I just didn't have as many issues with the movie as others did, though I still did have problems, so I'm curious to see what my view of the movie is after these two years and everything that has come since.
Watching the movie, I still only have two major issues with the movie. The whole Finn/Rose plotline of them going to the casino city, getting a smuggler, just to then cause the death of numerous Resistance fighters due to picking a scumbag, isn't good. Its just a waste of time in the end. The same could basically be said for the stuff with Po, Leia, and Holdo. I understand that's it meant for Po to learn that he can't just be a reckless idiot, but they also could've explained what they were doing to him at any point and that could've saved the lives of the Resistance fighters killed due to the actions Finn and Rose took. It's a situation where people needed to just talk to each other. It's basically two of the 4 plotlines being faulty. Not that they were specifically executed poorly, but they don't work for the overall film.
That said, I like the rest of the movie. The interactions with Rey and Luke, Rey and Kylo, Kylo taking out Snoke, and the entire finale starting from the destruction of Snope's ship. I still love the visual of Holdo jumping to lightspeed through the First Order fleet.
Yes, this is not a particular good movie, it has problems, but it is not the worst one to me still, even with the issues it has. That honor will always go to the first two prequel movies as I continue to hate them more with every watch.
Finally re-watched them all and I'm pretty excited to see what they are going to do with Rise of Skywalker. Not because of any expectations I have for what is coming, because I just want to see what story they will tell, especially after the backlash they got. How full tilt are they going to try and undo what they did with TLJ, or how they might spin it in another direction? I don't know, but I'm curious to see where they'll take it. The only thing I have thought about ahead of time with the last movie is what the title means, and I sorta feel like it's going to end up being kind of a "I am Spartacus" sort of deal, a rallying cry basically. Makes sense with the ending and Luke talking about legends.
