Upcoming Niche Japanese Imports
« on: July 17, 2014, 10:31:56 am »
We have a thread for upcoming Japanese games to North America, but no thread for stuff that hasn't left Japan yet. I figured I'd make one and try to keep it updated regularly. This thread is specifically for upcoming Japanese games which have not yet been announced for North American release. As long as there's a little bit of interest in me continuing this, I'll try to keep it as up to date as I can. There's quite a bit of stuff to keep track of, so any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hehe, nice, then when/if they get announced for US release you can just hand off to me.  ;)  :P

Might wanna add:

Fatal Frame: The Raven Haired Shrine Maiden (Wii U)
Releases: September 27, 2014

This is thought to be our first look at the cast of Disgaea 5...not that anyone here would care about such a thing. ;)

So, Nippon Ichi's new Vita game that they've been teasing for a bit was "Great Edo Blacksmith". As the main character, it is your job to make monies and befriend pretty ladies before your year to live is over. It sounds like it's going to be an RPG of sorts. NIS says the game is targeted at men in their 20s, and they want it to become a (fanservice) game like Criminal Girls. The game releases in Japan on November 27th of this year.

Unfortunately, no Disgaea news yet. :'(

Not sure if anybody really cares about this thread but oh well. :-\

Atlus has revealed in an interview that they're working on a brand new IP. There's supposed to be a formal announcement coming some time soon. They're also working on another game that isn't supposed to be released for 3 whole years. Or maybe it's the same one. The article I read wasn't super clear on that. Here's a link to where I read this. --> http://www.siliconera.com/2014/07/29/atlus-working-brand-new-ip-will-announce-another-game-soon/

Absolutely!

I'm curious what new thing they're working on, but I gotta say the main thing I want from Atlus right now is more P5 info.  ;)  Also, not strictly Atlus related but since they published their last game - wonder what VanillaWare is up to these days?
