Never heard of this game till now, but Abiotic Factor is a pretty cool game, it's a bit of a throwback to the 90's FPS games, specifically Half-Life, but it's more like, what if Half-Life 1 was a survival crafting game.  Visually it's got that lower poly/lower resolution textures, but not enough to be distracting like you are just playing an old game, and you basically are running around this huge, locked down, underground facility, gathering supplies to craft gear, tools, building up a place to use like a base, as you try to figure out how to progress further into the facility, dealing with alien or possibly multi-dimensional threats.  It's kinda funny to see that this is apparently an Unreal Engine 5 game, but it's very much trying to feel like an old Source engine game, as it gives off Voices of the Void vibes to me also.

Super engaging type of game for me and for those with other people that might be interested, you can play with up to like 6 other people too which is pretty cool.

Amid the large amounts of Abiotic Factor I played some of the demo/network test for Sonic Crossworlds and it's okay.  It seems better than the Team Sonic Racing game that I thought looked kinda middling, but it also didn't bring back the vibes of Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed for me.  Didn't find anything outright bad, though I felt like the bumping players and losing rings constantly was kinda annoying, felt off, though I haven't played a kart racer in awhile.  Not really sure about the game, I might just wait on a sale for it as I was kinda hoping I'd be into it more, but who knows, maybe I'll just wait on a sale.

Started playing a little Dune Awakening since it's got a free weekend.  Had abit of interest in it back when it first came out, but wasn't gonna jump into it right away, especially since I felt they needed to update the game (Some of its endgame content was PVP focused, which was an odd choice for a game that could be played mostly PVE until that point), and I know they were planning to, but I won't get that far over the few days of content.  It's alright so far, just starting out, not sure if I'll actually continue on to much, I did just get done with a survival/crafting game and kinda need to play something less serious like that I feel.

Tetris [DE] (GameBoy)
https://vgcollect.com/item/277791

These days I find myself fleeing into a short-lived session of the good ol' when I get too bored with grinding in Grandia (PlayStation), and even without expecting it and slowly dying battery Energy, I managed to raise my highscore again just yesterday:

127.531 points in standard mode (small rocket)

It's amazing how this particular game can challenge and addict over and over again during a whole lifetime  :o

Someone here to compete?
C'mon, get that old must-have off your shelf and slam it into one of your 83 GameBoy iterations!

WELCOME TO YOUR DOOM !!

Delving into a couple demos I have...

Eclipsium - Had to stop with this one, it's got maybe the most aggressive pixelation filter I've ever experienced in a game, it creates really blurry visuals at a distance and it's so intense.  I'm not super sure what sorta game it is, maybe puzzle, but the short bit I did in the demo, it was mostly a walking sim.  It's kinda creepy, walking through a cave, forced to stare at some giant woman just glaring, supposed to some sort of mindscrew game I guess, but I'm gonna pass on this entirely due to the pixel filter.

Ferocious - It's a dinosaur survival shooter, kinda King Kong Skull Island-esque with giant bugs in it, very low level survival crafting system, lots of awful animations and and UI stuff, though it is a demo.  Didn't get very far, nearly killed myself falling through a log that looked like I could go on it and figured that was enough, so never saw the dinos.  Melee combat was awful, where you can build a spear, but instead of using as it a spear that you poke with to keep yourself out of range of creature attacks, you do a swipe for some reason and just take a bunch of damage instead lol It sorta felt like a barebones version of Green Hell with dinosaurs and guns.  Maybe it can be something down the road, demo just wasn't anything, feels like it needs a complete overhaul by that point.

Cleared Hot - Finally found one that was fun lol This is a throwback to the old Desert Strike and Jungle Strike chopper games from the 90's, I use to love those games, and this has that spirit.  They do it in a much more modern way, involving a lot more physics based fun, so movement is really smooth, your winch you use to use for grabbing ammo and fuel is now made for not only grabbing ammo, but picking up most objects to throw them, so find a barrel? Throw it at guys to explode them.  Soldiers annoying you? Grab them and throw them, they even introduce some newer gameplay elements dodging jet strafe attacks.  This has great potential, I'll probably pick it up as it's supposed to release this year sometime.
