General / Favorite vs Non Favorite Millitary Based Game
« on: May 05, 2017, 07:57:14 pm »
So? what is you guys current favorite military game. it's does not require to be a realistic war game. For example it could even be the Army Man series for N64 or PlayStation.

For me I enjoy old school and more newer of the Call Of Duty Franchise. and Medal of Honor franchise. I have Battlefield 2 and 3. but I don't care for Battlefield 2 vary much. Medal of honor  Front line can be a pain in the one mission where every enemy has a Bazooka and the shoot it at off visual range. My favorite MOH games are the newer ones in which are more squad based instead being a one man army.

offline is primary for me.
since I don't play online. Is single player campaigns I don't know why any ever played Call Of Duty just for vs a-holes that cheat online and to think how people broke their equipment?  man that is dumb. I mean I still can get vary frustrated, anyway.

Hell I think more Xbox's PlayStation's and flat screen TV's and controllers were shot up or destroyed more then hollow 3D men in the online matches. :o

If their ever comes a day, when we no longer use credits for to play or buy video games. how many of you would share your collections in a community library? or from your own home? If you knew by doing so you could play others collection as well?

I run a Facebook page. I am also a christian teacher. 2 posts explain how life can do just fine and not require any cash or credit.

If one day in our lifetime where everyone gave and worked for their community and shared instead of buying and selling to others. and where everyone was equal.

I would. You can call this a pipe dream? but if you only knew my whole story and knowledge. Just imagine we all took off in a man made spacecraft, and then all of our games were added to the star ship's main computer. and everyone would have access to the main database for free and could play on a variety of controllers. how would this sound to you

It's as if 'Lordscott' never left
I looked him up in search, after reading this and read some of his or her posts, and no . I used to attend Retro Collect but I moved over to this site. retro collect, does not have a full database and I got fed up with that. some of the people on that site also. but mostly the database, and how little effort the admins put into the games information.  I did hear from one of the few admins of that site they wanted to be more like VGcollect and have their members contribute to the database. But all they have last time I was there was 2 admins and one moderator running everything to my knowledge. And nothing was getting done.

I tried to contribute to the database but the admin told me that he or she was still working on spare time and he denied all the research I did for him or her. the admin told me he had coding in progress and that he or she was going to redo the entire database soon. VG collect is a everything I hoped for and retro collect is just to outdated for me.

Lets take a time machine back to the PC gaming of the Mid 1990's and voice our opinon on a lot of the games that were 3D back then. Now I want you to remember your old PC and how it used to play those games.. not today but back in the 1990's and the 00's

Hi ,I happen to be an ancient PC gamer of the 1990's. 's I grew up  only on PC games.and had not one single  tv console at my home.

l I still love (to this day) games that worked fine with Windows back in the early 1990's like the Doom and the Duke Nukem  3D series. But when  the early 3D polygon PC games first hit the market it for PC  it was a nightmare in my opinion.  most PCs companies manufactured and sold under $5000.00 at the time were utter junk with their Choppiness.   If you were not rich enough to afford to upgrade your PC to the specs that all those early Polygon games required often most game would not work no matter how you tried

Most PC games of the 1990's stunk at least the ones I owned. however my life changed forever when I played Half Life 1 in 1999. and StarCraft in 2004.  for some reason among all the crappy games of the 1990's those were a lot different. I did love roller coaster tycoon and Simcity 3000. but all the rest were utter junk and were not even the least compatible  with windows 95 and windows 98 or even XP for instance in my luck.

my first computer that I had since it was new was a Packard Bell Pentinum 1. a computer that cost well over $1000 back in 1997 when I got it for Christmas. the game I used to play were decent Serria games like Bass Fishing, Nascar Racing, Indy Car Racing. But what upset me the most was yet no matter what PC you bought back in the day the computers would always need upgrades for the simplest things.

Nowadays you can get a gameing computer for well under $1000,00 that will play almost every single game out there, but in the 1990's you need to upgrade yearly in order to play any kind of game back then it seems.

So, what is your thoughts on playing a 1990's game on a computer made in the 1990's or early 00's? :)

or even if you were a console gamer back in the day and never had lag issues please tell your story here. :)

General / Re: Has a game ever gotten an AO rating?
« on: April 09, 2017, 02:57:47 am »
A-O games sound like complete crap to me. Most of those games on the list are PC Porn games, or games with so much violence they belong in video game hell in fact All AO games belong in hell burning and on fire. Why the heck are they mostly old 1990's anyway PC games, in my opinon PC games tend to be the least fun wise back in the day. but this is comming from a 1990's kid that had nothing but a PC. and no consoles at the time. Most PC games of the 1990's had awful glitches and crashes and lag oh god, the lag and if you didn't spend $5,000 or more on a PC back then. this is what you had to deal with L-A-G

But i do enjoy the sims 3 for PC and the The Sims 2 both series are way way better on PC then the console versions :)

Wait I'm not done. I mean back in the early 1990's up until the late 00's, PC's required SO much upgrades, and cost SO much more the $1,000 to buy a PC that ever could play decent games with  :-X

Ok so it was a joke but the cartidge you smashed was indeed a fake :D

2694
sorry  hear about you having to spend money on this obviously fake game. I think you did the right thing to by smashing this fake game, after all you could have returned it. But then it would have gotton sold to someone else. and I find your actions vary acceptable. I think you also have a vary good eye in spotting fake chips like this one. It's good to know whats inside of it. although I just buy games to play them and every game I have bough so far. Matched the correct label, unlike this garbage cartridge.

that first off it as you were saying, was not only fake but, had an entirely different game than what was being advertised

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I took this post vary seriously. because If I were you I would be vary angry to spend money on this. And I don't think you were joking about this. But, I saw you had no reply so I just gave you my thoughts, on this that all. :(

I usually smell Nintendo 64 cartridges to see if there dirty and most times they do carry a scent. I like the smell  of Cartridges too, as long if the smell isn't too smelly. It does make you think of it's previous owner. I don't like musty smells, so a box in someones attic, would cause my allergies to flare up.

N64 cartridges that been setting a while and not played for a while do have a distinctive woody smell on the bottom of them

Classic Video Games / Re: How Many Play Atari 2600 Games In Any Way
« on: April 05, 2017, 04:28:06 pm »
I was born in 1987 and to be completely honest it is hard for me to even get into 75% of the NES Library, so Atari for me is like no man's land. I played a handful of Atari 2600 games, as well as a few other games on pre-NES consoles and they usually keep my attention for all of 5-minutes and then I just feel like doing something else.

I used to be this way before I grew into more classic gaming. It is like experiencing history that is why I play and have a ColecoVision Flashback and an Atari Flashback 6 and an Intellivision flashback along with many other PS2 compilations. those Games that i've listed some of them have top of the line Atari Graphics and i highly recommend them both the cartridges and the Atari and Activision anthology

I was just playing my Activation Anthology for my PlayStation 2. And was thinking, about how many people in this world or on VG collect,  ever play Atari originals or Atari 2600 homebrews?

in any way whether it is a Harmony cartridge. Or a PC ROM, or on a compilation game for a more modern system.

I never been to Atari age forums before. But I've heard of them before

If so then name some of your favorite games and then your least favorites, it don't matter how you play the games either

My recommendation would be

1:Cool Boarders 1 or,2 or,3 or ,4 or also (cool boarders 2001) Great snowboarding series for the PS1

2: Twisted Metal 1 2 3 & 4 (great games to battle cars in an arena like setting) all PS1 twisted metal games, are arena deathmatch games

3. Need for speed porches unleashed. I love this one for PC although, I never tried the PS1 version

4:Need for speed High Stakes A little like Gran turismo racing simulator except, you pay money for car damages in your career mode

5: Need For Speed Rally This NFS game was made in 1997, but it graphics will blow you away for a PS1 game

6: SimCity 2000 a hidden gem in my opinion. it is a video game where you build and run and or ruin a city

7:March Madness 98. A great basketball game

8: NHL 2000, 2001 excellent hokey games

9: FIFA 2001. Highly recommend football/soccer game. has about 300 individual teams to choose from in almost unlimited ways of competition

Wow are the N64 expansion paks really that pricey? I was given my N64 back in the day by a relative, and it came with the expansion pak. Anyway, I would say it's worth it for the extra power on the titles that utilize it. And the fact that some games need the expansion to function of course, that intern extends the playable library of your N64.
They're still around $20, jjgames is just whack.

JJ games used to be a good deal, (edit) most times

WIKI INFO

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_64_accessories#Expansion_Pak_.28NUS-007.29

I bought my N64 from Amazon about a year back with the red upgraded graphics chip already installed for $30.00 total and already installed  not knowing what to expect.

I used to just have the jumper required black chip in my older Nintendo 64 expansion bay.

to compare the 2, I can't say the red performance chip  change the gameplay much. But the graphics are definitely are a lot better in comparison. A few of my games that were made  later automatically tell me that it reads the chip when I start the game up.  all in all the the N64 does need either the black chip or the upgraded red chip inside it's expansion bay. In order to run the game. Without at least the black RAM chip in the N64's  expansion bay the game console will not work.

In short I'd say you should get this red RAM chip it .does make a lot of N64 titles run faster with higher fame rates on some of the games off the wiki link. But I would not buy this chip by itself it is much more convenience, to get this red chip installed already before you buy a used N64 console the next link is are videos that shows it purpose.

Also you need to know that more RAM means less game lag. So, if you want to learn about this special chip further watch the follow videos, I did not make the videos but they are good proof of what I am trying to say. remember a black jumper pack is Ok but in my opinion the Red Expansion chip is like giving the n64 a boost of almost early PS2 graphics. But that is my opinion from personal experience. but it is expensive currently and JJ games is the only selling that google is telling me. good to add to anyone N64 collection but better to buy one with it installed already.
