General / Re: Your Least Favorite Gaming Device
« on: June 08, 2018, 07:33:09 pm »
So far Nintendo and Microsoft has taken a bit of a beating. SONY does have a lot of quality products. the PSP looks like it may be a great handheld for being a handheld in 2004. I was vary impressed at it's graphics for being a handheld device but never owned one. I never even saw a PlayStation Vita before or at least not with my own eyes.

Nintendo has had quite a few experiments that might have not been in their favor like the Virtual Boy and Nintendo 64, Wii, Wii U, and Gamecube. I may not like the awkward controller on the Nintendo 64.  but n64 games are not too bad. The Nintendo Gameboy was revolutionary as far as battery life on a late 1980's handheld.

The Switch is apparently in favor for Nintendo though.

I rarely ever hear anything bad about SONY gaming products as of today.

General / Your Least Favorite Gaming Device
« on: June 08, 2018, 03:26:57 pm »
I am not sure where the older threads are so I made a new one.

Out of all I owned in my life the Gameboy Advance SP was the least fun for me. I never really got into this device. All other handhelds like the Sega Game Gear and the Nintendo Gameboy I did enjoy though.

I was not as into gaming at the time I had it so maybe that was why. Or because I had a lot of games that were not fun.

One of them was Lord Of The Rings The Return Of The King. I also had Duke Nukem Advance, and Hot Wheels Racing, also someone loaned me Sonic The Hedgehog for the Gameboy Advance and never wanted it back.

I know there is another thread somewhere on this. But out of all gaming period which PC? device? console? or handheld? is your least favorite? of what you actually remember playing a game on.

This is in the wrong thread category. Shouldn't this be under sales and promotions?

No but if I were going to buy a game from someone I would think it would be rude if the seller was trying to compare to eBay price listings before selling me the game. Thankfully I never came across this at my local flea market all the prices are fixed plus if you buy more than one item they shave off the price :)

General / Re: Non-Hardware/Software Video Game Collecting
« on: June 08, 2018, 12:01:32 pm »

Anyone else have a favorite non-hardware or software, but still video game related collection they're proud of? Plushies, cards, art, manuals, OST's, vinyl, magazines?

EDIT: Playing CDs on my PSOne as my dedicated CD player is still pretty awesome...

If you want to preserve your PSOne laser you could actually rip CD's to a PlayStation 3's hard drive. and listen to music off that.

but you now need to manually input the song artist and the album name in yourself because SONY closed their CD server

If you like music as much as I do. then get yourself a PS3 super slim with 250 or 500 gigabytes of space. You can also play PS1 and PS3 games on it as well. Video games on any PlayStation 3 only install patches. You don't need to put entire games on a PS3's hard drive. If you got the disc most games take up less then 1 gig because the PS3 used the games disc data instead on what some modern consoles do

Also you can have almost unlimited PS1 memory cards on a PS3 because you can put as many PS1 storage slots as you want on any PlayStation 3. :)

PS3 super slims are highly underrated in my opinion

ripping CD's don't cost much space on the PS3's hard drive at all depending on how much quality you want on the music files

General / Re: Are you satisfied with your game collection?
« on: June 07, 2018, 05:59:39 pm »
I own over 1000 games but I am still not satisfied with my collection to be honest. Collecting video games becomes a habit for me.  I want a bigger collection.  But I am not ever sure of what I want to play.

It't hard getting into a new game for me.

However I own vary few repeats and I don't understand why some people collect different color console and controllers beyond what most collectors use. It's nice to have a spare but I never understood why some people own beyond 4 controllers or remote just because it is a different color or edition.

I mostly sleep more than I want to. I can play anytime I want but games really take a toll on my mood sometimes since I tire easy or have irritated skin that I can't hold onto the controls with things get hard

No, I haven't even got a 8th generation console. As my avatar says I am an old gamer. It's not that I don't want a modern console it's just. I don't want to spend my whole month budget on one item. Especially when I can get games from my local flea market that I never even heard of. console gaming is new to me since I grew up with basically nothing but a PC.

No, unless it is a fun game and my copy no longer works

General / Re: How much are you spending on video games every year?
« on: June 05, 2018, 08:02:24 pm »
Geez most said $1000 or more, I buy games where it is cheap, of course I only buy used games and I don't own any new 8th or 9th generation console at the moment. Bet most of you don't have time to actually play the games since most of you seem to work all the time.  I am afraid to tell you how much I spend on games because for me it's personal

I think it stinks

For me? I don't think this would be necessary in my collection. Since this cartridge has a bunch of common games on it. I personally don't think I would buy this since it is only basically good for bragging and showing off. Also less the 150 copies were ever made of Nintendo World Championship NES

But in my opinion it would go well in a museium

If I had it I probably would keep it and put it on a shelf

2308
Also I heard people getting piles of poop in a box sent to them from sellers off Ebay,

Well, sometimes that's what the buyer wanted. :P

I heard of this on a video, but this was a different case. The bullshit boxes I think were for a charity or something. and the buyers were pre-told  they actually were told they would get poop.

But sometimes people can be told completely the opposite from a seller on eBay

Before I buy a retro game, I always ask myself "If this breaks, will I be willing to replace it?"
There are a ton of games I want but I just can't justify spending nearly $300 because if it breaks I'm fucked.

Good point

Modern Video Games / Re: Played Mario Tennis Aces demo
« on: June 03, 2018, 03:06:34 pm »
Tennis is fun but it takes practice to get good at it both real life and video games that I've played before like Tennis for the Atari 2600 ported to the PlayStation 2. I could not imagine a tennis demo,

I mean how was it Seether? did it even let you go complete 1 full round? I never heard something more ripoffish than a demo of tennis
