So...while I'm not interested in a Wii-U...what do you guys know about these "Wii Miini's"?

(MiinWii's)?!  :o

I saw one going new for $99.00

Are they just like the original Wii's -but- a 'Slim' version of them?

Are they (like the original Wii's) B/C with Gamecube games?

Wondering 'cause there *are* some Wii games that I'd like to play -and- if one unit @ $99 could also play my whole Gamecube library...

Its not backwards compatible at all. It doesnt even hook up to the internet.

With that said, I want one. I have 2 of the older backwards compatible Wiis but I really like the look of the mini and the one we have in the living room has no need to ever get online or use the GC stuff.

:o

Yeah.

I realize that this could be relevant in several threads (like "the X-Mas" thread, the "GS" thread, etc).

I'm posting it here!

In a (I think) pretty funny turn of events (after posting how 1 of the few reasons that I go to GS is to burn up giftcards); I got some GS giftcards for X-Mas gifts.

I'd already gotten my PS4, Vita, and 3ds-XL during the last year.

I'm not personally interested in an XBox1 and/or a Wii-U at the moment.

There's not really any games (RPG's) for the PS4 that I really want yet either.
(My Vita & PS4 aren't even un-boxed yet)  :-\

I know, I know...1st World problems to be sure  ;)

Steam Cards.

On me.

In case you needed another reason to prefer physical copies of games over digital, I still have not been able to download a Link Between Worlds :(
Currently Playing: Dark Souls: Remastered (Switch)

LOoking through my PS2 wishlist, I'm really thinking that 2014 will see a lot of PS2 searching. Love that system, and I have a TON of games that I am still missing out on.

You'd be better off finding an original Wii because no gamecube ports or Backwards compatibility on the mini

I'd say just get a GameCube with your Wii Mini. They're cheap as dirt, and they have the ability to use the oh-so-awesome Game Boy Player for all you Game Boy, GBC, and GBA games. The big screen and sound of the T.V. does wonders to these games. Plus the GameCube is just a cool-looking console to have in your collection.

Yeah, I've got a Gamecube & a GBC...was hoping to be able to...'consol(e)idate' a bit (pun intended)!

You can get a Wii dirt cheap these days. I'm not joking when I tell you I bought a fully working Wii for $5. A dropped a Lincoln and got a working console.  Check Craigslist a lot and you can find a B/C Wii with GameCube ports for $20. In my opinion, it's well worth it.

Thanks for the tips!

Meh, it's really irrelevant now...since I've worked something out w/ Brad - and I'll be receiving one of his two B/C Wii's with everything  8)
