It all looks like good stuff to me!  But I love my DS and RPG stuff.

And Contact is awesome if you haven't played it before.  Definitely reminded me of Earthbound.

Picked up a few things recently:

The Sims 3 stuff was $4.50
The Final Fantasys were $30 for all of it, the boxes are mint!
Lastly Incantation was $1.00, I had never heard of it but I thought I would take a chance on it, as it turns out it's a fairly rare game!

Whoa, amazing score of the FFs!  Nice work!  And that's crazy that the Sims stuff was so cheap, including the base game.  I saw the same expansions (sealed) at a yard sale for something like $14 each.  Cheaper than retail, but not cheap enough to bite.

I found a gray Wavebird Receiver and a black Intec 4 Mb Gamecube Memory Card. $1 for both.

The Wavebird Receiver is going to be traded away, unless I stumble upon a loose Wavebird.

Got my copy of Theatrhythm Final Fantasyon 3DS. Pretty fun so far, a bit simple but not bad.
I also have that pre-order stylus with stickers (I put the Lightning sticker on mine).

@jcalder8 Nice grab with the Ogre Battle 64, I know that's one of the rarest (and crazy fun) games for the 64.   You could probably make your money back 10 fold with that cart.

I've never tried it so I am excited to give it a go. I knew that it was worth a bit of coin but when I looked it up on Ebay I was surprised at how little CIB copies go for relatively speaking.  Now is probably a good time to get one before they skyrocket.

I took a "gamble" on a collection of Pokemon cards. It only cost $5 but I was afraid that they were going to be modern cards. As it turns out the newest card I found was from 2001 and it turns out that there is between 600 and 700 cards. I think it was worth a shot :D

Finally got http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenshin_Dragon_Quest

Been looking for one for a while. This one was listed cheap cause the guy said it didnt work (I assumed he was trying it on a non compatible TV). It came in today and, although it powers on, the screen just flickers blue. Im not sure how to get it to work but it doesnt appear that it would be too complicated (plug and play system).

Yesterday, I found a loose Tecmo Bowl (NES) for a buck, which I'll be pairing off with my loose Tecmo Super Bowl to sell on eBay; Warcraft II Battle.net ($1, also going to eBay) and three bare Playstation SCPH-1001 decks. You know, the so-called audiophile ones? For a dollar each. They were on a table full of stuff that a seller was clearing out. Other things included a Dreamcast, some pads, radios, etc.

I tested all three decks and they work wonderfully, but one seems to be slow to read discs. Also one had a Soviet Strike disc inside! Neat little game, that. :)

I was thinking of selling the bare decks on eBay, but... I may just keep them so I don't have to use my PS2 to play PS1 games, haha. I may mod one, too.

*COULD USE A LITTLE HELP HERE*  :o ??? :-[ ::) :P

Just received my Trinity Universe: "Trick or Treat" Giclee from NIS America's on-line store today...

When I got my other/first one, the Disgaea: "Dressed For Success" one - I was able to find a picture of it somewhere on-line to use it to add it to my "SWAG" category here...

I've been looking & hunting around on-line to find a pic of the Trinity Universe one to do the same with...but I've just been striking-out; over and over...which; could very well be because I'm just *HORRIBLE & INEPT* when it comes to doing/trying to find pics of shit like this  :'( :'( :'(

If anyone here's *great* at finding weird stuff like that on-line and could provide me w/ a link to a *usable* picture of it to use here...

I'd be eternally grateful!!!

I ran into a new Retro Game store here in Utah yesterday and had to swing in.  I was AMAZED at the amount of inventory they had, I could have easily spent a few hours there but was in a rush.  I plan on going through their stuff a little better this weekend and it's only a couple miles from my place.  Anyway, I picked up a gamecube w/hookups and controller for $25 and a copy of Fire Emblem (already addicted) for another $25.  Also got mint copies of Panzer Dragoon II and The Horde (my old copy was in awful condition).  Can't wait to go back!  They have a mint complete copy of Ogre Battle 64 I'd like to nab.

With a new case it would probably be good, but it looks like it was left on the dashboard in a car and started to melt lol.  I'll take a good look at it again tonight.

Ronalopolis and I spent our anniversary (July 3rd) the same way we do about every year...picking a random city within driving distance and hitting their used game stores.

This year we did Indianapolis, mostly because they have a Fry's, and we don't get there very often. Also the Children's Museum there is phenomenal, and they were open on the 4th.

We didn't get too much this time, but he did get Resident Evil 2 for the PlayStation (didn't have it for that) and he got Code Veronica as well (PS2). Then he picked up Clock Tower 3 (PS2) after arguing with me about whether or not he had it (the Android VGCollect app is so great for these trips, by the way!!) and I got Hell's Kitchen and Sega Casino for the DS. Then the Breeder's Cup game that Bethesda made for the PS2. This stuff all ended up at about $15 total.

Then a trip to a really random store got me Hotel Giant DS and him Rock of the Dead, each for $3.

Let's see...then I got a clear Game Boy Pocket, I'm starting to get really close to all the non-LE colors on those (the Pockets, that is). And then Bomberman GB (which they threw in). And Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story. So $35 total with that round.

Then we picked up another game from my WANT list: Kolibri. Anything that is described as a "hummingbird shooter" needs to be in my collection. Haven't dug out the 32X to try it yet though. Complete in box, $35, which I don't think is too bad.

Then we got home late last night to have Theatrhythm waiting for me on the doorstep. So, a pretty fantastic last two days!

It's a little dangerous living in Northern California... we have about 6 Fry's locations within a 50 mile radius of my house.

Yup, we lived in Northern Georgia, and there was one at the Mall of Georgia, which was only about 30 minutes away. Now, the 3 1/2 hour to Indianapolis gets us to the closest one by far.

It's not as good as it was, for us at least. They used to carry import games and they've stopped that. They do still carry the random adapters to connect the X-Arcade Tankstick to different systems, so Ronalopolis is happy with that. We got the one to connect to the PS3 and to the original XBox this time around.

Picked up a random schmattering of games this weekend:

360
Lego Harry Potter: Year 1-4

N64
Rayman 2

PS1
Destruction Derby

GCN
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

XBox
Dead or Alive Ultimate
Jade Empire
Soul Calibur II
Breakdown
Outlaw Golf: 9 Holes of Xmas
Outlaw Volleyball: Red Hot

The last two I though may be collectible someday since they were Blockbuster Exclusives and I picked up the XBox games for $2 each, so I figured why not?

Now, normally at this hot, humid, and "taken-over-by-tourists" time of year...I'd *NEVER* make the 1/2 hour drive south down the Garden State Parkway to my favorite game store  (*ANYWHERE*) in Atlantic City, N.J.

Well...after seeing some of all of your recent scores/finds at garage sales, flea-markets, etc...and after having just about a 100% "Strike-Out" rate at each & every one that I've been to lately...my petty jealousy over:

*Waah*  :'(
"It's NOT Fair" :(
"They've been finding all sorts of good shit" -
..."and I haven't been getting any" (*GAMES*, that is:)

So, this afternoon, I decided to go down there to the store, shop, hang-out for awhile, and talk/bull-shit w/ my friend, the owner...

Now, I didn't do *Perfectly*...but it *was* worth the trip!

I ended up walking out of there with the following:

(1).  Indigo Prophecy C.I.B. (PS2) (this one's a "double" for me since I already had 1 *sealed* copy of it),

(2).  Heroes of Might and Magic: Quest for the Dragon Bone Staff C.I.B. (PS2),

(3).  Orphen: Scion of Sorcery C.I.B. (PS2),

(4).  Drakengard (ps2) - (Which, unfortunately, I didn't realize until I got back home, that it was the Drakengard *ONE* game (disc) in the box & with the manual for Drakengard *TWO*  >:(

(5).  Blood Omen 2 C.I.B. (PS2),

(6).  Galerians C.I.B. (PS1), and

(7).  KLONOA: -Door To Phantomile- C.I.B. (PS1)...

...all of the above for $35.00/Cash  ;D :D :) ;)

This guy still (somehow) has an incredibly large (hundreds) of still *sealed* (and hundreds more "C.I.B./Like-New) PSX and Dreamcast games...

He has such a big inventory - that he simply *REFUSES* to count/list them all...but...if anyone's interested in calling him themselves to inquire about any of these, I'd be more than happy to get you in contact w/ him (and, if you find something that you want, picking it up and sending it off to you:)

Damn... Nice haul! Always wanted to get General Chaos. If you want to part from it, hit me up!

That's one I've been looking for.  Actually, General Chaos and Mutant League Football are 2 of the Genesis games I've been searching for.  That list is very, very short.

I've been able to snag a copy of it not for the same price you got your's (which was a steal), but $6.50 is still a good deal for me.

Those were two of my favorites growin' up; before the Playstation, the Genesis was my favorite console for sure.  I'll have to see where those old games are lying around and see if I can still snag them from my parents.

Ya mine was Brand New too. But I didn't want to risk it becoming hard to find. PSP games are quickly disappearing from all my local shops.

I haven't seen much of a drop since they were never that popular around here to begin with so it really just looks like the same games that are still on the shelves

It's not so much of them disappearing from my shelves but that they keep getting pushed around to different locations as the Vita and other displays vie for space...

The boxes aren't pristine, unfortunately... Ys Seven is slightly squished and a bottom corner slightly torn probably when someone tried to force it open.

DDS1 was unfortunately squashed when the eBay seller decided to send me the item (that looked pristine in his photos) in an unpadded manila envelope.

Hopefully I can resolve that with him soon...

Speaking of DDS1, I wanted to verify with you forum folk about whether the item was released in two formats: 1) regular game-only version and 2) deluxe version with slipcase & soundtrack and such.  If so, that means the non-deluxe version should have the non-deluxe image, no? (http://vgcollect.com/item/1144)

I was just afraid to change it when I noted how many users had already marked that they owned the non-deluxe version (while only 1 person has claimed the deluxe version).  ... also looks like the barcodes for the game box itself and the deluxe slipcase are the same, too, which is a bit confusing.

Exactly this. All my GameStops have may e one shelf of PSP games and some of them are new and used mixed all together.

The used game shops are a different story, but usually they don't have anything good, and mostly lame umd movies.

While I don't know all of the specifics, I *CAN* confirm for you that there were indeed 2 releases of DDS 1.

I'm pretty sure the 1st release (which is probably what may have been called "the deluxe" one) is the one that you have that came in the box...I also *Believe* that there may have been an OST originally included w/ that version.

There was then a re-release/2nd print-run of the 'vanilla' (non-boxed) game.

Also, be aware that, iirc, *BOTH* DDS 1 & DDS 2 have quite nice *reversible* sleeves (so, depending on which sleeve each owner likes better...you could be seeing pics of the same game that look different/have different cover-art work.

Also,

@Scott and/or Matt:

Is there any 'policy' here concerning games with 2 possible images for the front & back of the case?

Just wondering, because if two people have the same game -and- each one of them prefers a different side of the reversible-sleeve...this could quickly (and easily) lead to confusion, dupes, etc...

A suggestion...possibly instead of attaching an image of the game disc itself - use that spot for a pic of the alternate cover...or...just be sure to make mention of this whenever adding one of these games in its "Description"/"Notes" area???

Right, I'm not terribly familiar with Game Gear overall, so I didn't realize the box was too small. The last 2 do give away the fact it's pirated though :P

Oh, and that Armor thing, is it "compatible" with an X figure? That'd be kinda awesome.

Never played the DS version of Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure -BUT-, quite a long time ago, I played & had fun w/ the PSX version of the game :)

It actually pulled-off being a "Musical RPG" (as in, characters actually burst-out in song (solos, duets, and more:).
Also, in a 'cheesy' kind of way (...like maybe a *blending* of Journey, Foreigner, and Air Supply :P
...Believe it or not...some of the songs were actually pretty damned good!

A little tidbit of trivia for any other Disgaea/NIS fans is that Margoly (and several other characters that either have cameo appearances, weapons/items named after them, and/or are (at the least) referenced in later Disgaea/NIS games...originally appeared in Rhapsody  ;)

It's supposed to be a port of the PS1 Rhapsody, but it features a completely different battle system.

OH, and I got games today, started building up my Xbox "collection"!

For Xbox, I got:
Jet Set Radio Future+Sega GT 2002 (both games for less than one of them? yes please... it seems still sealed, but that's not staying)
Outrun 2
Panzer Dragoon Orta

And otherwise I got:
Space Channel 5 on Dreamcast
Chiki Chiki Boys on Genesis (whatever that is)

I'm on a Sega roll today :)

*laughs* Thanks, Foxhack, for the sympathy - I thought you would certainly understand!

I was pretty astounded by how stupid it was on his part, ranted loudly to my boyfriend about it, and messaged the seller as soon as I could.  He got back to me promptly and said he might have an extra slipcase and outerbox (he said he used to have more than one copy) he can send me to make up for it.  We'll see how it all turns out.  I'm thankful that the final bid price was low, though, or I'd be even more upset.

This is a good question... Mods, would this info clutter too much or be helpful?  The description field is supposed to be used for things such as listing box contents or variant-specific details, as far as I know, so I'm wondering if noting reversible artwork should be included or not.

You've actually piqued my curiosity with this whole "Digital Devil Saga"...saga :P

I guess that's mainly because I had so much fun playing both of the DDS games :)
Also, once I start wondering about something that I don't know the answer to (*Especially* when it relates to one of my all-time favorite games & series)...I...guess...that...I just get pretty tenacious & relentless - until I've hunted down the answers/Info that I was after  ;)

Anyway...here's the full *deal* w/ DDS One...

A).  There were indeed two releases of the game.

B).  The *Initial* release was the boxed version.  At the original time of the game's release...this boxed-version would have been the *only* version to be found.

C).  This initial boxed edition (which, supposedly has enough room/space in the box to hold both DDS 1 & DDS 2) came with:

    (1).  The game disc itself,
    (2).  A  40-page instruction manual,
    (3).  An Art-Book, and
(4).  A "*Special*" version of the OST.
(- the word "Special" used above is in quotes because...it is *NOT* the entire/official OST.  For various "Licensing" reasons/issues/problems, and due to various other vague & unspecified isues...a good amount of the songs that are on the Japanese OST/Game...were left-off of this (U.S) OST...

(D).  Then, later...the game was re-printed as the 'vanilla' "game-only" version.

Both versions have the same reversible sleeves.

Awesome!  That definitely clears things up.  A little confusing for the launch copies to be called "deluxe" but I guess that's just how it goes.  I'll have to edit the description field in the deluxe version to include what all the goodies are.  Thanks for doin' the research!

Both versions have the same reversible sleeves.

Hm, I checked when you mentioned this in your previous post, but I didn't see a reversible sleeve in my game... :\  I'll have to check again to make sure I'm not crazy.  I think maybe it's just the second game that has the reversible cover.

So, I was running around and found myself almost driving right past my closest Gamestop store...

I decided to stop-in real quick & see if they had any B1G1's, B2G1's or B2G2's for anything that I'd have any interest in...

Turns out, that their Game-Cube games (which were just about as slim as pickings could possibly ever get :)
- were B2G2.

Since they really didn't have anything that I would have bought normally...and since I...

...*Just Couldn't*...*NOT*...

...buy four games for $10.00...

I walked out w/ the following *4* GC games (that are each & every one of them the very epitome of the descriptive word..."MEH":

(1).  Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell,
(2).  The Sims: Bustin' Out/*"Player's Choice"* version,
(3).  Turok: Evolution, and
(4).  Bionicle.

(All games are C.I.B.; Btw)

I guess that this can also be (at least partially) attributed to my closing-in on/wanting to cross that elusive threshold & get my badge for my:

*500*

"Items in Collection"...W/O having to start going throuh/adding all of my guides, OST's, Swag, etc...

under the regular entry for the *Non* "Player's Choice" version and made a note in my entry that mine's the "Player's Choice" version...

I'm more than happy to enter all of the Info. for the Player's Choice version (I actually have everything written-down/ready to add/submit...BUT...I can't seem to find a use-able picture of the Player's Choice version of this game  >:(

Does anyone have one/can link me to one to use so I can make this entry/submission *COMPLETE* when I do submit it?

Thanks-

Finally, an eBay seller did a nice job of packaging a game (glad I paid too much for it)!  Put it in a cardboard mailing box and even put in some unprinted newspaper in to keep the game from shifting in transit.  Box is pristine as is everything else in box.

It doesn't exist. It's a game case I had commissioned to hold a Rockman World 1-5 Chinese Multicart I bought on eBay. The real Mega Man Mania was cancelled, but enough art work of it exists for the case to be recreated.

Ohhh, haha, this shows how little I know about Mega Man.  I should've looked at the reviews for the Amazon page: http://www.amazon.com/Mega-Man-Mania-Game-Boy-Advance/dp/B00019HNMI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342055894&sr=8-1&keywords=mega+man+mania

Unlimited SaGa arrived last night along with Worlds of Power: Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. Both I snagged from Amazon and got free shipping on them. Unlimited SaGa is in excellent shape, but has a sticker on the back I need to remove. Worlds of Power is an old elementary school library copy and the cover has been "protected" with what looks like clear contact covering on it, which is ok. But there is a label under it on the spine. But, the good news is, the rest of the stickers they put on the cover easily came off and I could clean the adhesive off w/ Goo Gone. The spine is tight and everthing else looks good on it too.

(I'll add a pic of both later)

Well, went out to dinner with the GF tonight and decided to swing into Best Buy on the way home. Wandered into the Sony section looking for (hoping for) a PSP memory card (no luck). But I headed over to the PS3 used games and walked out of the store with Demon's Souls! Black label, CIB. They also had a GH version, but I decided to keep searching and found the black label one buried in another section of the rack.

Also, he's the pic of Unlimited SaGa and Worlds of Power: Simon's Quest.

I've just used regular SD cards for my PSP... unless you're looking for a Sony branded one?

Got this in the mail tonight:

Was pretty happy to get it all for about $15 - the game itself goes for that, and this one came with a strategy guide.  For "good" condition, these guys look better than some of the "very good" and "like new" stuff I normally get in the mail.

@Desocietas:

Though that game got many mixed-reviews (Radiata Stories, that is) I had a lot of fun w/ it.

Have you already played it?

Also, that guide will come in *VERY* helpful (*Especially* for recruitment aspects of the game:)

Now that I think about it...what/if any other RPG's have ever done this before?

(- meaning, having a branching/"choice"/"Point-of no return" about 1/2 way through the game, and then, depending upon your choice here, you will get 2 *Completely* *Different* story-lines...*NOT* just an extra/different boss or an additional area, or two...but completely different stories, endings, bosses, recruit-able characters & NPC's, Post-game content, etc...

Basically, you pick to play on the side of the monsters or the humans, and from there...*EVERYTHING* is different?!

It looks like I rented Radiata Stories over 6 years ago (thanks for the timeline, Gamefly!) and really enjoyed it then, and yes, was pretty surprised when it came down that that crucial decision in the plot.  I don't really have strategy guides (this may be my first?), but I figured for games like these, it'll come in handy (and will help me avoid having to sift through GameFaqs for the same info and risking spoilers).

I'm looking forward to sitting down and playing it again soon, but I feel like I can't play any of my pre-gen consoles until I get my hands on a CRT tv again!

Hmm. I just assumed that it was some sort of proprietary memory stick. If it's a standard SD card, then I'll just go get one of those. I can't play my free PSP games from the whole "Here's free games, sorry PSN was hacked" debacle. since my current one is only 1GB...

Yeah, I just waited for a 16gb memory stick duo pro or whatever went on sale at Fry's and *bingo*... cheap way to save games.  The ones I've bought usually have a little thing on it that says it works for the PSP.  Was probably Sony branded, too, just not labeled exclusively for the PSP.

Gears 3 was $35
The Dreamcast extensions were $1.50 each
The arcade stick was $2
and the Colecovision was $7

This is the cleanest system that I have ever found

So today I went to do a round of garage sales. I found a whole lot of NOTHING! It was a total waste of time.

To mildly redeem this morning, I went to EBgames where they had special deals today, came out with the Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel Edition on 360 for 14$, and the Rift Collector's Edition for 2$ (it comes with an 8GB USB key and a mousepad, both of which  needed).
Never gonna play either of those (not into MMOs, and I already played through the superior PC version of DNF), but whatever :P

Got a bunch of stuff today. First of all, I had traded Varkias my extra copy of NBA JAM TE on Saturn, for his extra copy of The Horde on Saturn. His package arrived today and it was in a much larger (and heavier) box than I was expecting. So I cracked it open and found not only The Horde, but also the JP release of Grandia on Saturn and a bunch of Castlevania strategy guides! Thanks Varkias!

Then afterwards the GF and I went wandering around town and I also picked up The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? and Knights in the Nightmare (which also came with a download code for the full version of Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone). The only problem, and something I noticed after I got all the way home, was that Knights in the Nightmare's manual was missing and since I bought it Brand New from GameStop, I was a little PO'd about it. Maybe one day I'll search for a loose manual for my copy, but the addition of Yggdra Union was nice. :)

Eh...so I couldn't wait for all of my pre-ordered games to come-out/get here to hit my *500* mark.

So, I went to GS & bought 8 games (for $2 - $5/Each) to hit the magic number!

A few were just doubles (and even *triples*) of games I already had for cheap prices.

New games were:

Summon Night 2 DS (NA) CIB,
Pokemon Ranger "                ",
Pichu Pichu: Venom (or something like that:) DS (NA)/ "New"

Shellshock: Nam '67 PS2 (NA) CIB,
The Suffering            "                "

Maken X on Dreamcast
ChuChu Rocket on Dreamcast
Rampage World Tour on Playstation
Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 and 2 on Xbox (the box says I need Xbox Live to play it, hopefully that won't stop me from playing single-player)

Getting close to 1000 items!

Not really, it'll be something completely random. Unless I pick up nothing but new games for the next 2 months, which would make item 1000 the Borderlands 2 Loot Chest, or Ragnarok Odyssey on Vita if that ever decides to come out... But I'll probably end up getting some retro games along the way, so there's no way to know :P

@ Jcalder8 -- AWESOME FIND on that Colecovision.  That thing looks like it's been packed away since 1983 and getting it for $7 is a steal.  I'm definitely jealous ;)

Garage sales can often be a disappointment, but you just gotta keep trying because you never know when you'll come across something good.  Just this year I've picked up some great titles like Phantasy Star III, several Pokemon Gameboy games, a bunch of great minty NES boxes, a box of 50+ black plastic NES sleeves, Baldur's Gate II Dark Alliance, Legend of Dragoon and several great deals on N64 games.  It eats up my Saturday mornings, but when you find something great or rare at a garage sale for a couple of bucks, it's totally worth the time investment.

Which Dark Alliance 2 did you find?

I know that the PS2 version is considerably harder to find & more valuable than the X-Box version...

How much was that & LoD going for?

Thats cool looking. I really want to see your collection in person some day. It would be like visiting a Mega Man museum. My son would go crazy if he saw it. He loves the blue bomber.
That, sir, makes you an awesome father! One of these days I'm going to get shelving and set this stuff up proper.

Got a couple new Saturn titles, one of them traded from @scott.  Thanks scott!  The other I've been hunting down for about 6 months and finally got a copy for a decent price.

I don't think it's actually licensed and that Mead invented someone named "Mega Man" and put it on the cover. That or there are worse artists than the ones at Capcom in 1987.

It's great... it's like they gave no Fs about the proportions of a person and how it might be unhelpful for a battle robot to have weirdly short arms.

Also, is he humongous or just on a planet of tiny buttes?

Normally, I'd agree.

But you see that little thing next to the "MAN" in "Mega Man"? That's a "TM", isn't it? That means they had to ask for permission to use the name. That means it's licensed.

Yes, but whether that license is before 1987, or even legal, has been up for debate for a while:

http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?StartRow=26&catid=7&threadid=68796

Since the product makes no mention of Capcom at all, and no one can figure out if it was made in 1987 or after, it doesn't appear to be a Capcom Mega Man, and if it was an attempt at a Capcom Mega Man, it was done illegally. Again, all speculation, but digging around seems to support the idea.

Lol I would have never showed you the link of that if I had known you were actually going to buy it!

This is a different one, I managed to snag a Mead folder for about 5 bucks :P This isn't the binder that a bunch of crazy people seem to think is worth 70 dollars.

Well, I found something strange yesterday.

Not the New Order tape with a concert ticket, nor the Depeche Mode CD (though they're both awesome in their own right), but the Shadoan CD. That is a game soundtrack for "Kingdoms II: Shadoan", some adventure / FMV game released for PCs. I never knew there was a soundtrack made, and so I bought it. I still haven't opened it. I dunno if it's worth selling or keeping...

Nice Find, SOERA!

Nothing spectactular here...but, between yesterday & today...I hit 3 or 4 pawnshops/retro game stores and walked away with:

(*YESTERDAY*)

Rayman GH C.I.B. PSX NA,
Digimon World GH C.I.B. PSX NA,

Gungrave: Overdose C.I.B. PS2 NA,
Crazy Taxi C.I.B. PS2 NA,
Wild Arms 3 (a double for me) C.I.B. PS2 NA,
Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse C.I.B. PS2 NA,
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Deulists of the Roses C.I.B. PS2 NA
PRYZM Chapter One: The Dark Unicorn C.I.B. PS2 NA

(*That* 'Lot' came to $25.00).

-AND- today's "Final Take" was:

Shonen Jump Bleach: The 3rd Phantom (For some reason, this DS "Bleach" SRPG game has been ridiculously hard to find locally) C.I.B. DS NA
Coraline C.I.B. DS NA

Duke Nukem Forever (I know, I know...in spite of its horrible reviews - I just *can't* pass-up any recent & sealed games for under $5.00) *SEALED* PS3 NA
OverLord 2 C.I.B. PS3 NA
Ninja Gaiden: Sigma C.I.B. PS3 NA

...today's total was another $20.00 -SO- $45.00 for all of it over yesterday & today  ;)

Well, I talked about a great find for my item 1000 so here it is... before Disgaeniac dies from hype :P

Though I will say my day started crappy as I literally missed a deal on a Battletoads arcade cabinet by FIFTEEN MINUTES.... Goddammit.

So yeah, I found, on my local Kijiji, a complete in box Magnavox Odyssey, with everything it needs to play (cards, overlays, poker chips, roulette board, cartridges, fake money, cables, controllers)

Pretty happy about this, but THAT'S NOT ALL!

I was putting the Odyssey in my car when the lady comes out of her house and asks me if I'd want an original Xbox with some games because she was gonna throw them away... so she gave me that for free! Which was a big surprise for sure.

The games for the Xbox are:
Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks
Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (will go well with the MAT1 that I randomly found in my xbox)
Mechassualt 2: Lonewolf - Limited Edition
Ninja Gaiden Black
Conker Live and Reloaded
The Suffering
Blade 2
Thrillville
Jade Empire Limited Edition

All that for 170$ (canadian), which is a lot less than even incomplete Odysseys usually go for (from what I've seen).

I'm pretty happy right now, despite missing that deal on the Battletoads arcade (which is, by the way, a completely different game from the NES version and it kicks all sorts of ass).

So yeah, here's my item 1000!

Awesome finds Gentlemen!
@soera - Gotta love that Panic Restaurant!  Most rare games are bullshit.  There's a reason they didn't make many, but Panic Restaurant is fun.  It's a good game that just got overlooked.

@jobocan - What a deal on that Odyssey!  That's a cool little piece of gaming history.

Edit - I got so excited about you boys finds I forgot about mine.  I found Conker's Bad Fur Day for the low low price of FREE!  Somebody was going to put in a yard sale and my sister snagged it for me.  She said there was a whole box of games coming since she found someone who wants them.  This was beyond awesome since this is the game on the top of my want list right now.  Now, does anyone have a box and manual?

That Odyssey is amazing!  Have you tried it out yet?

Yup, it works perfectly! My only problem is that the overlays (even the smaller ones) are too big for my SDTV, so I kinda have to squish them in there. I might have to upgrade from my Samsung GX if I intend on using this :P

That said, all the games on this are multiplayer, so there's not much I can do but look at it right now... and be happy that I have it! :P
It's pretty awesome to have.

Huh - I didn't even know that it *was* a beat-em-up...it was marked as an "Action-RPG".

I just loaded it up again to double check. I guess it could be considered an Action RPG, since it has a bunch of cutscenes and some puzzles to it. But the main gameplay still seems pretty beat 'em up to me. Even GameFAQs has it listed as an Action RPG, so I guess that's what we'll go with.

Yeah - I guess it's pretty much one of those "6 of one/half a dozen of the other" sort of games because after scanning a few reviews for it...I've seen it called both an ARPG & a Beat-em-Up - more than once :P

Just got back from a 11 day church retreat up in the Santa Cruz area and was able to hit the Capitola flea market, didn't find too much that wasn't way overpriced.
1. Fear Effect Strategy Guide - $.25
2. Playstation Controller - $.50 Little dirty but should clean up good
3. Super Puzzle Fighter II - $1
4. Keys of the Kingdom - $5 picked this one up at church retreat bookstore seems to be a Bible adventure Game.

Ah, I passed through Capitola this weekend and didn't know they were having a flea market!  I checked out Level Up but they didn't have much.  What they did have, they were charging proper prices for...  I guess that's the one nice thing about GS - they don't mark their prices up with research usually.

Level Up is in downtown Santa Cruz, I think... It's a nice shop (good amount of older games, cute displays, plushies, etc.), but yeah, they seem to be seriously lacking on game shops down on the central coast.  The GS in SC was super small and didn't carry any PS2 games.  They said the Capitola one did (which I forgot to go to), so I assume that one's bigger.  Otherwise, it's pretty few and far between down there until you come up north to the South Bay, where there are like 10 Gamestops within a 15 mile radius.

My find of the week was Final Fantasy VII (original, not greatest hits) at a garage sale for $3.  It's missing the manual, but that's still a hell of a deal.  Other than that, I picked up a few common PS2 games for $1 each.

*HOLY* SHIT!!!

Damn...I've actually just gotta' say it again; so...

*HOLY* FRICKIN' SHIT, BATMAN!!!

See, long ago there was a long-time friend of mine who borrowed 2 relatively inexpensive & commonplace games of mine (*At the Time*)...PS One times/games.

I'd forgotten about them for several years - until I noticed one day/on-line what they were worth in today's dollars...they were no longer very *Inexpensive* & *Commonplace*.

However, this poor friend of mine had/has been actively strung-out on heroin (& likely whatever else he could get his hands on) for many years.

Getting a little more personal & revealing than I normally do on an on-line site (I guess 'cause the overall tone & atmosphere of this community has made me feel pretty comfortable & welcome)...I was *very* empathetic & sympathetic towards him having overcome similar problems of my own after high school.

Actually, this was why I was so passionate & dedicated enough to work full-time (while going to school at the same time) in pursuing everything required to become an alcohol, drug, and gambling addiction counselor myself).

Now, nothing against the people who "book-learned" their way into the same field, but, I found that since the people we were working with/trying to help were much more receptive, open, and honest in dealing w/ me (and the others like myself who had personally experienced their problems) and extremely reluctant & reticent to work w/ the "school-only educated counselors".

Anyhow, I (severely:) digress  :-[

At any rate, this friend of mine has now been clean for close to two years and has re-engaged in talking to me again.

I would have never thought of bringing up the games, but, he called me a few days ago and told me to check my mail for the next few days, as he'd mailed my two old games back to me.

So, I receive his package & open it up expecting to see 2 games in pretty crappy condition
(-actually, I was *SHOCKED* that he hadn't sold them for money to get high with...

Whelp...it turns out that he *had* done *exactly* that (sold them for $ to get high with).

What I found enclosed in his big, padded envelope were...

...*SEALED*

copies of the 2 games that he'd borrowed...

(1).  TOMBA! (perfectly factory-sealed) and...

(2).  TALES OF DESTINY II (also, perfectly factory-sealed)!

(Both PS ONE / NA versions)...

Anyhow, seeing as I've already played both of these - and seeing the going rates for sealed copies of them now...I'm finding myself a bit reluctant to tear the wrap off of both of them to replay them...

 8)

These 2 games (and their story/history) will always make them more significant & hold more sentimental value than the vast majority of the rest of my games & items.

A good week of garage sales this weekend.  Picked up the following PS2 games:

3 for $5
Mortal Kombat Armageddon
Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks
Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's

And for 20¢ each for these loose discs:
God of War, Ace Combat 4, Bloodrayne 2, Burnout Dominator,  X2 Wolverine's Revenge.

We also got two really nice black leather office chairs for $7, a Domo plush, a Golgathan action figure from Dogma and a book by Kevin Smith for 50¢ each.  I can't wait to put a poop monster action figure on my shelf at work!

I just got a free copy of Crysis 2 for PC (downloadable) from a guy who was selling games at super low prices. He gave me the code and refused to take my money.

Just got my pre-order of Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time. Though it's gonna be awhile before I get a chance to play it.

Here are my pickups from the last couple weeks

Starting with these:
FFVII is discs only since the cover is photo copied but it was only a buck
MGS guide was $4
Wing Commander Prophecy was $3
Smackdown VS Raw 2009 was $9 which is the cheapest I have seen it
Mario land 1, 2 and Mario Deluxe are all extra copies so they will be up for trade, I really need a laptop hard drive.
Ratatouille and the GBC games were $3

SNES games were $3.50 each
NES Games were $4 each
Game Boy games were $2 for the set
The PS2/Gamecube and Xbox games are 1.50 each and all complete

PS2 games were 1.50 and the are all complete except for Star Ocean which is missing the manual
The red game is a PC edition of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit which is the EA Crew edition and was only available for Christmas 2010 to EA employees

These are the ones that I am most excited about, especially Parademon

When I was 6 I collected(to play with) all of series 1 and 2 but I was never able to buy the last one that I needed. I actually had it in my hand but my mom told me to wait and keep looking before I bought it and by the time we got back to the store it had closed due to a tornado warning. That was 25 years ago today and I bought it on Friday brand new is the package.

Just got my pre-order of Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time. Though it's gonna be awhile before I get a chance to play it.

Went in to Gamestop & picked up my 2 pre-ordered copies of it today, as well :)

I'm jealous that you found that PSX game (Tsugunai) so cheap, Jcalder...it's on my "like to try it someday" list :P

My DS cases came today and they are probably the best cases I have ever seen.  Absolutely perfect for my GBA collection!

Look at this:

This is great for those people who love to store the GBA cover on the DS.  SO much more useful the the actual game holders.  It makes no sense to actually keep a GBA game in the case.

Not only can you carry a DS game and the GBA cover, but you can fit GBA games in it too!  If you are ever looking for great cases for your GBA games I can not recommend these:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039ZWQQY/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 enough.

Just received something pretty cool. My first complete in box Famicom game!

It's Kai no Bouken/The Quest of Ki by Namcot, so it also comes in a snazzy plastic case. Can't wait to finally play this game, I've been looking for it for a while. The front cover is slightly sun-faded, but it's not too bad.
