I see them every once in a while; I think I saw a Wii Fit Trainer while I was out and about yesterday. I'm sure some stores have back stock as well.
i have the wii fit trainer. went searching every store in my town that might sell them. thats the only one i found. all stores are sold out online as well. i just dont get nintendos thinking here. they have only been out a month.

This first wave has taught me to think a bit differently about how Nintendo's approaching the amiibos. I think everyone expected them to treat it like a widespread toy release with a vast overestimated appeal. But while I think that may be the case for the recognizable figures, the Marios, Pikachus, Links, etc, any character that won't be recognized by children is likely not going to see a large release. It makes sense when thinking about people outside the collecting/hardcore fan group, and I'm wondering if Nintendo's going to adjust their numbers or keep making certain figures in low quantities just for the sake of having some be rare (which isn't too uncommon in the world of collectable figures).
Of course, this all could be a devious plot to inflate preorder numbers, since the tiny amount of Marth, WFT, and Villager amiibos is likely going to make collectors over paranoid. I'm willing to bet that preorders for the next wave are much higher than they were for the first. Who knows.
My policy is as follows: Any fire emblem, obscure, new, or retail exclusive character is going to be mandatory preorder, everything else can probably be left to a later time. I learned my lesson after that $27 Marth off of ebay, though even that's a steal compared to what it goes for now.
I feel like an 8 year old obsessed with Pokemon cards all over again. This is going to be the death of me.

I really regret cancelling my preorder for Marth. I thought I'd just get one later without too much difficulty, but less than a week after their release they were impossible to find in stores. I've pretty much lost hope of getting one in-store now. :-\ It sure has convinced me to keep my preorders on the next wave. Mega Man and Ike are my two preorders, are there any other figurines y'all think could be rare from the next couple waves? I'm really hoping Nintendo releases Amiibos for the rest of the Fire Emblem characters in Smash and one for Ness. Some alternate costume versions of Amiibos would be nifty too.

This is how I'm going about collecting these too. I already have Shulk at Gamestop, and will be preordering the other three retail exclusives Amiibos tho month. I'm currently missing Mario and Yoshi because I need to conserve some cash and these two will likely see a very large print run.

We knew they were gonna discontinue figures, I just didn't realize they were gonna do it after the first batch they released lol Basically for future ones, if they aren't popular characters and they don't have an active game out recently, they are likely to become rare. From the second batch, I'd probably make sure to grab Little Mac, Pit, and perhaps Captain Falcon.

I saw one Marth Amiibo at an EB Games in Canada near me, but just one. Of course, I didn't buy it at the time because I thought it wouldn't be that hard to get another one later. :'( A lot of retailers don't even have Marth listed online now. Amazon.ca only has Marth through third-party resellers now from what I can tell.

As far as I know, there are only 3 retail exclusives. Shulk is GS, Meta Knight is Best buy, and Lucino is Toys R Us. Did I miss one?
It's been suggested that Rosalina and Luma will be as well, since it's not coming up anywhere as an available preorder. Could be target but no one knows yet.

There still isn't anything super official either way on this, so it would be nice to see a proper response on their twitter perhaps. Seems like Nintendo might've just seriously underestimated the demand for these things and other pieces of hardware like the Gamecube adapter. I still think people should be wary of certain figures that aren't attached to currently active/popular series, and focus on those first before grabbing the more obviously popular ones, such as relating to Zelda or Mario.

Looks like a new shipment of Gamecube Adapters are coming out on the 15th for those interested. This seemed to be a good place to let everyone know since we're all lamenting short supply. You can order off gamestop right now.
That's good news, if true! But I'll keep playing it safe with the preorders until I start seeing Marths on store shelves again, and I recommend the same to all. PR is cryptic by nature, and there's a lot of potential ways of interpreting that email. In the end I'm sure some models will simply be more plentiful than others, and therefore some will be rarer and more valuable. I doubt that even with the demand from collectors Marth just wouldn't sell as much as other models (and the same is true of many of the announced figures), and so it's natural for Nintendo to keep their supplies lower. Will there be a restock? Perhaps, but I'll bet those won't stick around much longer than the original shipment. All speculation, of course.

Captain Falcon might be difficult to get as well. It's been a long time since the last F-Zero game released, and Captain Falcon probably isn't as well known anymore (from anything other than Smash Bros).

I just went to pre-order Shulk, Falcon, and Little Mac from Gamestop. They weirdly didn't have Pit actually in their system to pre-order. Neither one at the mall did. Gonna have to grab it online I guess or get lucky on release.
Toys R' Us is currently sold out of Lucario pre-orders. You might have a chance in store, but I went to one today and not only was Pit not available as they sold out their pre-orders, but Lucario was also gone. Gonna probably pre-order Meta Knight tonight from Best Buy online so I can pick it up in store.

I was just talking to a good friend of mine as he drove home - he lives about 40 miles south of me in my old hometown but he works in the same town that I live in. Anyway, my hometown is pretty small so I asked him if he would swing by their Wal-Mart & check on the 3 rare figures. He scored all 3 for me! Said they only had one Marth but had several Wii Fit Trainers & Villagers.
Anyway, super happy about that!!!
EDIT: Also Best Buy is still taking preorder for Pitt (online at least). Just put in a preorder for him, Little Mac & Captain Falcon. :)

The guy I had talked to about the Lucario in store made it sound like it had been pre-ordered up already, something about 16 of them pre-ordered, but then again, this was not a manager and seemed rather new to the position as he didn't even understand what an Amiibo was or anything about the pre-orders. So I'll take that as a good thing and perhaps it'll either open up for pre-orders soon or just something I'll have to get when the store opens that morning of release.
They are running out of pre-orders for other things though like Pit at Toys R' Rus. I didn't check if others from the second batch were all taken up too, but I find their pre-order system kinda funny, in that if they get to a certain amount, they detour newer pre-orders by saying the deposit for them is a 1000 dollars lol

The first employee I spoke with had no idea what he was talking about, so I requested to speak with a manager and he told me about the online skew thing. I was not convinced and he even tried using the online skew to show me that their system cannot use it as a UPC to process an in store preorder. He then told me he anticipates that once the new batch comes out on Friday, they get preorder skews for all the 3rd batch Amiibos. He didn't give me a definitive answer as to when they'd get those, but said he wouldn't be surprised if they got them next week or before the end of the year. As soon as they get this in i'm spreading the word on here fast seeing how many of us really want Lucario lol.

Gamestop didn't have the SKU's for Pit either, but they had them for the rest coming out in the second wave and for some in the third wave. Seems like abit of weirdness with figuring out these releases. Wonder if it was the same for Skylanders when they came out or Disney Infinity till they had too many of them to keep track of lol I swear there's like a million Skylander figures.

I could see them doing something like this. They already did it for certain games( xenoblade cough) and it just sucks because it forces the people who don't get it right away to wait a year or so for the price to go back down. I'll still stick to picking it up since knowing the stores around my area, they won't stock any of the rarer characters for general purchase and just leave it for pre-orders.

I'm at least going for a full Smash set, but after that I may bow out because you are absolutely correct, this is getting pretty ridiculous pretty fast. The hype and demand for these things is getting insane, requiring a lot of work to obtain some of these. On top of that, like any new, hot item, the scalpers are out in full force trying to scoop all these up so they can flip them at insane markups on Ebay. I hate people that do this, they really ruin it for everyone else. I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the Lucario preorders (and the other retail exclusive Amiibos) are bought up by these stupid scalpers.

Yeah I'm just going to end up focusing on characters I like in the future. I still might grab some extras for the heck of it, but I'm going back to my original idea of grabbing stuff that is more likely to be used in other games. So definitely Mario characters, Star Fox, Metroid, Zelda of course, and maybe a few other characters I like, such as Shulk who I'm enjoying playing in Smash Bros since I barely played the game he's from. Mega Man and Sonic will be buys also.

My guess is that once the numbers come out and they see that Amiibo does well for them, as it seems to be already that Nintendo is happy with their holiday sales, they could occasionally release figures that aren't any longer in production for a limited time. Or they'll just realize that the demand far exceeds what they thought and will simply increase the amount of figures produced in the next waves coming up. I'd love to see that with the hype of Lucario, Shulk, Meta Knight, and apparently Rosalina, we still end up finding the figures out on shelves when they release because they got more in than they thought. At least that's what I'm hoping for with Lucario.

I preorder my Shulk in the store. in fact I bought it the day the original Amiibo line launched. So I don't know if I fully buy that. It could be different in Canada however.

Exactly. I just checked and Marth Amiibos are selling for as high as $80 on Ebay right now!! That just screams that the demand for these are out of control right now. This is money that Nintendo could be getting if they'd make a lot more of these lesser known characters that a lot of people, collectors and others want.
I think Nintendo is getting far more benefit from the hype the rarity of Marth, Villager and Trainer than they would by shipping more of those least popular figures. They're so much in demand right now because of the perception that once they're gone, they're gone. I fully believe that if Nintendo made an announcement and restocked those three figures nationwide, the hysteria would collapse and they would just sit on the shelves.

How much are these really in demand? Are they in demand in our (collector) circle or for everyone? Nationwide is little Timmy lining up to get his Marth?
I think Nintendo would be better off to just keep making them a little at a time. That way they sell most, if not all, of the Amiibos that they make. Nintendo doesn't want to be stuck with a ton of Wii Fit Trainers that they can't sell.

I figured as much. It would make no sense from a business standpoint to have a very popular, in demand product and be like "nope, know thousands of you still want this item that we are trying to heavily integrate into our other products, but yeah, not going to release anymore. It's just money right?" I would not be surprised if retailers got a second batch of the more popular Amiibos before the end of the year.

Only ones released right now is the first wave along with Little Mac, Diddy Kong, and Zelda for the second wave. Sometime in the next week or two, Pit, Luigi, and Captain Falcon will be out. Marth, Wii Fit Trainer, and Villager are the rare ones from Season 1. Season 2's seems to be Little Mac, likely Pit, I'm hearing Diddy Kong is weirdly tough to find. Small chance Captain Falcon could be rare also. I've begun to also hear that oddly Donkey Kong and Samus could start fading out. Samus I understand, she has no new game, but Donkey Kong just had a hit with Tropical Freeze, but I guess it involves lasting popularity as characters with upcoming games are bound to stay along with all the main Mario and Zelda figures.
Nintendo basically really screwed up with the Amiibo release. I'm hoping they sort things out better by the third wave. They have to realize that creating so few figures isn't great.

This. Also, why the hell did they not even officially announce the release date of Wave 2? And why the heck did they split the wave into 2 releases? Basically, the best thing anyone could do for the third wave, is pre-order everything you want or specifically pre-order the possible rare ones. I'd say for third wave...Ike and Dedede. Sonic and Mega Man have a chance to be also, since they aren't even Nintendo characters. Toon Link, Bowser, and Shiek should be alright I think. Not sure about the retailer exclusives. With how they are selling out months ahead of time, they could be impossible to get even if you want them now as there is no saying how much of a stock they'll actually get in store.
Third wave for me, is Shulk, Ike, Mega Man, Sonic, Toon Link, and Shiek. Possibly Bowser also since I'm likely to get the Mario characters. I'd grab Rosalina if she wasn't impossible to pre-order now.

The Completionist and some followers just said they had their amiibo pre-orders cancelled at Toys R' Us. It's possible they might've overdone their pre-orders for them, so keep out for emails from them if you have stuff pre-ordered from Toys R' Us.
And from that, it says we'll likely see more exclusives in the future, possibly guaranteeing even more stocking issues with figures. DAMMIT NINTENDO! Make sure these stores have enough freaking figures! People are gonna lose faith in these if the same issues arise in future waves.

Thank goodness I have two Rosalina's preordered (keeping fingers crossed this don't get cancelled as well), because one of them is up for trade if I'm unable to get Lucario preordered between now and when it is released.
I have officially decided that I'm not longer going for a full set. Nintendo of America really screwed up with the Amiibo launch and I'm tired of having to call places daily and refresh store websites that are getting exclusives hourly in order to even have a chance at getting one (only to have my preorder cancelled. . .). This is total bullshit and it's not what I thought I'd have to go through when I first decided I wanted these. I will preorder online through amazon when they are announced, and other than Lucina and Zero Suit Samus, I will not be committing myself beyond that to find any of these. I'm done Nintendo, thanks for fucking this up for me and everyone else. . .

Sad thing is my pre-order qualified for nothing they are canceling them for and they tossed mine as well.
Im jumping on the "fuck Amiibo" boat. Ill get the ones I want and not even look at the rest now. Not sure what is in NOA's head but man, what a way to screw over the entire gaming community who is interested in these things. As long as Gamestop doesnt cancel my pre-orders, Ill be fine.

I got a message from Amazon saying they can't find some of the Amiibos I've ordered. Looks like I'll have to find another way to get Ike, Mega Man, and probably Captain Falcon too. This is getting to be a huge pain in the ass. >:(

My Lucario also didn't have any promotions applied besides the standard free shipping on preorders.
I hope I don't end up with a similar emails from Amazon. I've already been fearing the possibility since Zelda & Little Mac.
I think most of these amiibos sales are being made in fear of discontinuation after the initial shipment. It's hard to believe there won't be more printed. I think it's best to just wait out the storm of scalpers for those that you miss, and hope for the best in a reprint. Nintendo has to come up and say something about the issue and calm the hysteria.

I just preordered another Lucario through Toy's R Us's Ebay store and now my original preorder might not be cancelled? I'm possibly going to end up with 20 of these damn things, or none in the end :p

Eff the abobos. I'm done. People are pissing me off with the scalping. I wanted to get all of them, but it's too big of a pain in the ass. I wish I hadn't gotten caught up in the initial craze. I'm a little ashamed. What do I have to show for it? A Wii Fit Trainer.
The good news is, none of the ones I want are exclusives or rare. I'll get Luigi, Pit, Bowser, Toon Link, Mega Man, Pac-man, Ike, and I preordered Shulk. This is out of control.

Toys R Us just sent out confusing emails. In one email they tell me they can't legally reinstate my order in another they told me my order has been reinstated.

When I saw Link, Princess Zelda, and Kirby Amiibo on my trek to GameStop, I loved the design. I should have also pre-ordered Meta Knight and Toon Link but I'll need to balance my spending first. Pit, Ike, Marth, and Samus Aran are definitely awesome but I don't play Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, or Metroid.

I preordered Pit at Best Buy as well, ended up getting the text that they got him, went to go pick it up and they didn't have him in. Instead they had Captain Falcon on hold for me, obviously failing to read the name on the freakin box! The only part that makes me feel better about the whole situation is that I guess they didn't get any Pits in and that there were about 5 people before me that were pissed off about it as well. I complained to the store manager and am supposed to get a call back when they get him in. I'm not holding my breath. . .

That's basically what my goal was today found them at toys 'r' us got the last Fox they had and I already had Samus but there were about 15 of her so if anyone needs them that's where I say you should check first also they were buy 1 get 1 40% off.

The only store near me selling them is Walmart and the only thing they ever got was the phase one figures. Some are still sitting there from November. Never restocked ever. Pisses me off because I'm missing out on all the other waves. I'm gonna have to basically preorder what I can of phase 3.

Question: have they said if there's going to be any non-aesthetic difference between the "new" Mario/Luigi/etc. figures & the existing ones? Because I definitely think I'm drawing the line at buying multiple versions of the same character, but it's going to be dirty if the new character unlocks something in, say, the new Mario Party that the existing one doesn't.
Also, the new Luigi pose is infinitely better than the stupid one they gave us to begin with. :-X

Ending up dropping Sonic from my next batch, leaving just Shulk, Mega Man, Sheik, and Toon Link I plan to get. Luckily nothing in wave 4 I want. I wouldn't mind Wario, but I hate his biker style. Might get the normal Mario and Luigi perhaps, but I need to save money up as there are actually a few 3DS games that are interesting me now with Xenoblade Chronicles and a couple other more casual releases.

The woes continue as it seems that now Gamestop is saying they don't have enough stock for Shulk and people may be seeing theirs canceled. I called my Gamestop and mine seems fine thankfully, but it sounds like continued issues with Wave 3. Nintendo is saying that the upcoming Mario line will have plenty of stock, but I think people are still gun shy about it all after the faults so far. It's also very likely that Shulk will get another batch of orders as they announced today the obvious support for Shulk in Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS.

Awesome. Hopefully EB Games in Canada puts up a second wave of Shulk preorders too. I missed out on getting one the first time for a stupid reason. :-[ I thought I could take my time when I saw it up for preorder the first time, but I learned the hard way that you need to preorder Amiibos as soon as they are available. :'(

I hadn't thought of this, but Amiibo's will be getting price drops! So far, only three have, and it doesn't seem to be quite widespread yet, but Peach, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong should be at 10 bucks now instead of the default 13 (or 14 at Toys R Us, but they tend to sell them in triple packs for a cheaper price).

I don't know if this is old news or not, but I noticed today when I went to EB Games that they're starting to accept trade-ins on Amiibo and other interactive figures. I'm sure that it means GameStop will do this in 'Murica too. They haven't started selling them used yet, but it seems pretty cool that we'll be able to easily buy them used in-store.

Yeah the guy at GS today said that they aren't likely to get much of any Smash amiibo's in the future other than pre-orders. So if you want one specific, you have to pre-order it or go somewhere else. They won't be stocking them up at all, especially with this next batch, though I could see them getting in some extra Charizards cause its Pokemon.

One thing to keep in mind is that Toad is the only new character of the lot. Everyone else has a smash bros version, so he's going to be in demand the most out of all of them.

The update *might* be happening now - I just got a different page that says "We're currently down for improvements".
EDIT: Ok, here's some good info. Apparently, according to this article on Destructoid - http://www.destructoid.com/here-s-the-full-rundown-on-all-the-wave-4-amiibo-madness-today-including-gamestop-s-plan-289917.phtml - you can preorder the new Amiibo in-store as of 2:00 CST, but the web preorders will be turned on "at a later time" to allow the stores to sell to their customers first. So if you can get to a GS now, do it. I'll have to wait until I get off work, so if the website hasn't updated by then I'll just swing by my store on the way home and preorder there.
Be aware tho, it's not a standard in-store preorder but a in-store web preorder - basically, the employees are ording them off of the website for you (or their internal website specifically) and you will get them shipped to your house. You also have to pay in full up-front like this.

My GS told me that everything was sold out when I stopped by on my way home, just before 6:00 CST. The new girl was working tho, not my friend who's the manager, so I don't know if that was actually true or if she didn't know what she was doing (she almost canceled my King Dedede and Ike the other day because "I have two PUR accounts" and she was going to consolidate them - after I asked her a few times was she about to cancel something she can't re-order she realized she WAS & stopped :o).
Anyway, I'm gonna have to stalk Amazon & GS' website (kinda hoping they held back some for the general site, who knows). But I have to admit the whole ordeal of it all is starting to get to me. :-\

This Amiibo shit is ridiculous man. I was home on lunch at 2pm, didn't know you wouldn't be able to preorder online and needed to go in store. But literally at 2:01 I hit refresh on Gamestop's home page and the site had crashed. My friend actually went to a store, he waited for like 2 hours because their system at the store was down and took them forever to get it back up and running... I had asked if he wouldn't mind trying to get a Ness preordered for me (literally the only one I've wanted since Amiibos were announced) since I had to work and couldn't spend all day hanging around for it... Well by the time they got the system back up and he was able to preorder his, they told him they were limiting it to one of each amiibo per customer... so fucking great, let's let all the asshole resellers buy up 100 with the first order and then once they become scarce and the other people who had been waiting in line to buy them for themselves, let's limit them instead. good system. I was able to get Ness yesterday, but the 6-pack I was originally trying to get literally sold out while the GS employee was processing my order. That irritated me, but what really gets me is that Target randomly puts Jiglypuff up during the day it it sells out in under 5-minutes. Then there is the shit with Greninja who was supposedly going up for preorder around 7am EST, but ended up going up around 3am instead. It's as if everything that could go wrong will go wrong with trying to get these things.
It's lie unless you put your entire life on hold and commit to either refreshing retail websites all day or camp out for hours you have virtually no chance of getting like half of these things, at least here in NA. It is because of this I am done for the most part. I will pick these up with minimal effort and checking in occasionally to see if preorders are up, but there will be no more standing in line, lurking in Amiibo forums, or participating in the insanity that Nintendo has created with these.
I'm out as well.

Same here. I want Wario & Pac-Man from this wave, which I expect to be common once the dust settles. If I come across any of the others randomly, I'll decide then. It's not worth the headache and frustration. According to what I just read, Target and TRU have both said they won't be putting up another round of preorders for Jigglypuff & Greninja, so that means camping out to try to get one - nope. Also, they're saying it looks like GS may not put any preorders up online at all for this wave, which means you can forget Ness because if by some miracle stores DO get a couple in that aren't preordered, the employees will snatch them before they even see the shelf.
I don't even see the point in making a product that will only be available for sale for about 15 mins and that's it. What do they gain out of it? I know the money from the sales, but I mean they're throwing away way more than their making by not making enough to cover demand. They get bad press out of it. Heck, I'm not even sure why the stores are paying for the exclusivity - they get a slammed website for a few mins & whatever their profit is on a $13 item. It's not like it's driving customers to these stores to buy anything else. Seriously, where is the business logic in this? ???

I'm not a business man by any means, but I'm assuming a company that has been around as long as them in this industry they're not as stupid as it at least appears they are being from the outside looking in... There are probably some lines crossing we aren't privy to that make the way they're doing this a smart business decision I guess... But even if that is the case it's a double edged sword because it pisses off your fanbase. However, I think it has been proven over and over again pissed off fanbases rarely take their level of pissed offedness to the point of not buying products. All these people (myself included) who are pissed off about this would still plop the 13 bucks if a Ness became available to them in a heartbeat. So maybe Nintendo is just like "fuck y'all, this limited number of amiibos is all we NEED to sell and we know ALL of them will sell immediately whether or not you get them or not. But don't act like you're not gonna love us when we drop Zelda Wii U." Which it appears may not be far from the truth.

But literally at 2:01 I hit refresh on Gamestop's home page and the site had crashed. My friend actually went to a store, he waited for like 2 hours because their system at the store was down and took them forever to get it back up and running... I had asked if he wouldn't mind trying to get a Ness preordered for me (literally the only one I've wanted since Amiibos were announced) since I had to work and couldn't spend all day hanging around for it... Well by the time they got the system back up and he was able to preorder his, they told him they were limiting it to one of each amiibo per customer... so fucking great, let's let all the asshole resellers buy up 100 with the first order and then once they become scarce and the other people who had been waiting in line to buy them for themselves, let's limit them instead. good system. Actually, Canada has already gotten Wave 4. Unsurprisingly, most are sold out already. Ness sold out at EB Games a few days ago, Robin and Lucina are sold out at EB and Amazon.ca, and none have gone up for preorder anywhere else that I'm aware of. I managed to get a couple Ness Amiibo (one for myself and a friend), but it took more than an hour to order them with EB's website overloaded from other people trying to preorder Wave 4. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten preorders for Lucina or Robin. :'(

I've been screwed then :( EBGames all told me last Thursday that they didn't know when it would happen, and I didn't see them at all on Amazon even though I checked every day for the last 2 weeks. Yeah I thought this too. You pre-order ahead of time, then the company makes sure they have enough for everyone, which to me shows that it has to be purely a Nintendo thing only allowing a very specific number of Amiibo's out there. Doing this through the first few waves is one thing, but it's been months since they started. There's no excuse for this.

Sadly Im afraid you are right. I probably will regret selling them. Always possible to pick up a Robin and Lucina in the future and I still want Dark pit/Palutena/R.O.B./Zero suit Samus/Ganondorf and Olimar.

I came close to selling some of mine a couple of times, but finally decided that the truth is I *like* the figures, I just dislike the way Nintendo has been handling them. But I'm not going to let that ruin the enjoyment I get from the figures.
Anyway, my GS manager friend called me yesterday asking if I wanted any of wave 4. Apparently GS stores have them in stock now but can't sell them until tomorrow. He told me he had Ness, Silver Mario, Wario, Charizard, Pac-Man & the Splatoon pack. He let me swing by yesterday & buy a gift card for the ones I wanted (Silver Mario, Ness & Pac-Man) and he's going to ring them through tomorrow morning. Very cool of him. :)

Stepped across the street from my office for a min to see what that GS had. Was first in line (I think a couple more people showed up after me) but they didn't have much anyway. Was hoping to at least score an extra Ness to use to trade for one of the other exclusives, but they had none. Left with their only Wario.

Got shafted ... again. Stood in line at Target (was first one there 2 hours before opening). All they had was Jigglypuff. So I sped to Toys R Us to find 15 or so people in line (first guy got there at 4am). They eventually came out with tickets. I got one for Greninja and Robin since Lucina was already gone. Went to pick them up and somehow they overprinted tickets ... like wtf? So I didnt get Robin either. Im frustrated as fuck with these Amiibo. All I want is the ones for the games I like. I can find the ones I dont care about sadly. :\

From what I heard, stores are generally getting more amiibo's starting with this wave, though I still imagine it'll be tough depending on the store itself, except for maybe Gamestop. Was listening to the Amiibo News podcast last night that was saying places are trying to get more than just a couple with each shipment lol

From what I heard, stores are generally getting more amiibo's starting with this wave, though I still imagine it'll be tough depending on the store itself, except for maybe Gamestop. Was listening to the Amiibo News podcast last night that was saying places are trying to get more than just a couple with each shipment lol
I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of stock each store had (went to Target, TRU and an Indi-shop that just starting carrying them), and with the exception of Greninja, I had the chance to get all of these and the ones i didn't get at least twice if I wanted. Even Lucina and Robin which seem to be the ones a lot of people had a hard time getting. I hope this is a sign to come because what I experienced today definitely gives me faith that Nintendo is finally starting to take this seriously.

my town had 1 robin and 1 lucina at meijers. walmart did not get any amiibos at all. target didnt get any Lucina or Robins. (i know as i was first in line) best buy and game stop i dont know about as i had to go to work :(

I called the Toys r us I hit up yesterday just out of curiosity to see if they had any Greninja's left. Sure enough, they had a handful. I got down there and grabbed the last one so I now have an extra Greninja. Need a Jigglypuff, Robin, and Lucina still.

These seem to be popping up in Brazil, of all places. Makes sense considering they get shafted with horrible taxes as it is.

And good on him. It's incredibly awful that Nintendo is letting this still continue. In some areas, they are slowly improving, but there's no reason they haven't simply made more significant amounts more stock, especially for exclusives and what will obviously be harder to find characters. I wish they would just open up their own Amiibo store, you pre-order what you want way ahead of time, that way they know the stock amount to create, and then they ship it out directly to you. Like what they did with Club Nintendo gifts.

Color wouldn't be a problem. you pick a color and she can do it pretty much. I use to sell a bunch of her beanies online. From Micky and minnie mouse, to knight helmet, to bearded beanies. She has done similar things before, and stuffed it with cotton.

I never though Captain Falcon would be so hard to find, but then I remembered that I almost had my preorder snagged out from underneath me.
It's one of two that Best Buy screwed me on - I had a preorder, but they claimed they never got them in. The other one was Little Mac, but I went straight home after they told me he wasn't coming & managed to get one off of Amazon.

Got my Palutena from Amazon a couple days ago and just got back from waiting in line for Dark Pit. He's actually the first one I'v waited in line for.

Grabbed Dark Pit this morning :). My Best Buy had about 25 of them so there were plenty to go around for the 13 of us or so in line. Good thing to because some asshole 12-year old decided to cut in line at the end which pissed a lot of people off, but as I said, there were plenty there.

I did the same. Almost didn't, I'm trying to get out of the "gotta catch 'em all" mentality and I'm only interested in 2 out of this set - don't really care about Game & Watch. But I decided to put my $5 down anyway so I could at least have the option. Knowing myself, I'll probably pick them up. ::)

Gamestop held preorders for a retro 3-pack today, which will consist of ROB, Mr. G&W and Duck Hunt Dog. So I got up early and went over to my local GS and waited in line with about a dozen other people and secured mine. Releases on 9/25.

I did the same. Almost didn't, I'm trying to get out of the "gotta catch 'em all" mentality and I'm only interested in 2 out of this set - don't really care about Game & Watch. But I decided to put my $5 down anyway so I could at least have the option. Knowing myself, I'll probably pick them up. ::)
From what I've read, it's possible that Mr. Game&Watch won't be available as a single pack, so you could always sell it to someone who's interested in only him :)

Mega Yoshi looks awesome, but the $40 price tag is nuts. For that matter, the $17/each they're going to be asking for the regular blue & pink ones is crazy, but I *might* bite on those because they're some I've really wanted. We'll see.
Green Yoshi (regular size) will be bundled w/ Yoshi's WW for $59.99. The Chibi Robo Amiibo will be bundled with that new game for $39.99. Here are the other official Amiibo announcements:

The best way to get most of tomorrow's ones other than the two exclusives is likely to do amazon. They have specific times they'll release each one and I heard the last time they did it, it went reasonably well as long as you were there on time. I'm gonna be going to Gamestop in the morning to see if I can't have an easy time getting Ganondorf and 8-Bit Mario, but if there's any line, I probably won't stay. Hoping it'll be like when I did Splatoon and got lucky with the three-pack cause no one was really there when they opened.

I got in line at Target, the line wasn't very long BUT there was a Reseller in line with his four kids and was going to get as many as they would sell them. An employee came out and said we could get one of each character. Once we got in they had the least of Zero Suit Samus, and the reseller wanted to get 5 sets. I thought I was going to be screwed. Then the manager told him one character per family and he was pissed and I got all of wave 5 and just had to go to Toys R Us and get Bowser Jr. and I got the full set.
I saw the Wii U Super Mario Maker set and just couldn't justify $300 to get an Amiibo. I found someone selling 30th Anniversary Mario Modern for $40, Even though I hated to spend that much it cheaper then $300 and an extra WiiU.

Didn't see any when I went to walmart. But only I can order one. It will cost me 24 dollars buy it and have it shipped to my house. If anyone wants one I'll order it and ship it to you once I get it. It will cost me like 40 dollars ish but since the Canada dollar is shit it would probably only cost you guys in the States 30-32 USD once I convert it back to Canadian. If anyone wants me to do that, let me know! :)

Looks like restocks trickled into both Toys R Us and Best Buy. My cousin was able to land me a Lucario from Toys R Us and then today (Wednesday) he picked me up Marth and Dark Pit from Best Buy. Luckily he was out to lunch with his parents as Best Buy limited people to one character per person. Now if only they would crank out some more Robin and Lucina I would be happy.
Incidentally does anyone need a Wario, Shulk or Sonic? :P

I had wanted to avoid these too when I first saw them. My daughter picked up our first pack and then my neurotic collecting nature starting picking up a pack every time we would go to the store. Especially since we had never found Isabelle.
If they released Zelda cards my 12 packs of Animal Crossing would look like child's play. I would need to take out a mortgage to keep up with the purchases.

The only solution I see currently would be ebay or craigslist/kijiji/equivalent in your area.
What I did with the first series (and intend to do with the next) is that I made myself a list of the cards I wanted, then I bought enough packs to have a little more cards than the quantity I wanted (to make trades easier since I had more variety to choose from). Then I put up for trade everything I didn't want, and once I had all the cards I wanted, I sold the rest as a bundle for a little less than $1 a card. That worked really well for me!
By the way, there's an Isabelle card in each of the 3 series, so brace yourself :P The 3rd one is wearing a kimono and is super adorable :)

Yeah, I could understand people wanting to enter their individual amiibo (especially since you can buy them used individually), especially when the original purchase comes in a multipack like that. The checkboxes don't make it easy to identify which item you might have, for instance.

Yeah, separate entries can be useful! I really love soundtracks, and I like to sort through them and see how many I have. So I like having the option to add it in my swag rather than sort through all my games and search for any soundtrack bundle :)
