Ha. She was asleep on my sofa and I went in and turned on the lights. She was like WTF?
Two reasons really. Sunlight is number one. The second is that I always wanted one of those things when I was in grade school because one of my friend's had one. Now I do!
More like. "You rat bastard, can't you see I am SLEEPING?!"
Ah, ya Sunlight plays hell on the NES and SNES for sure. I found a cure for browning plastics online once, it involved tearing the casing down and a bunch of household products. I saw on a forum an old Apple II that was super brown, came out looking pristine white again.
Hmm alrighty.
My top cover is completely yellow whereas the bottom cover is perfectly grey. There's no fade or anything. Both are completely different. I would be surprised if both were made the same way :/
Is having an animal in one of the pictures a requirement?
It's so funny you say that, I only noticed Gizmo (my cat) in those pictures after I posted them and had read the previous post about the dog.
Where did you find shelves like mine that are one game deep...and do they come in black?
Got to respect that Saturn collection. It makes mine look like it doesn't even exist (which isn't too far from the truth). I have a really difficult time finding decent Saturn games in the wild.
Seriously... why 4 ET games? lol
Props for having the Frankensystem hooked up 24/7. That reminds me that I still need to find a 32X!
Hmm alrighty.

I don't think they added bromine to the bottom half of the case. I've never in my life seen any snes with a discolored bottom.

My SNES, purchased in late '91, possibly early '92.
Yellowed while sitting in a box in the closet toward the late 90's. Never saw direct sunlight, nor smoke.
btw, loving everyone's game room/collection pics!
Awesome possum! It's the second one I caught in my house this year!
Yeah, We don't get too many earthquakes in Michigan.
@jobocan I love that shelving in your last pic.
I'm a big fan of people displaying their stuff but I'm always too afraid to leave collectibles out (potential damage, sun.etc)
maybe later I can get a game room with no windows and a big steel door xD

@persona420, first off welcome to the site! secondly, that is an impressive collection of handhelds, I applaud you sir. You need to get your hands on a Game Boy Light to round out that line up!
Also, We are always looking for more pictures to put on the log in page. Could I use this one and add it to the line up?
Ya I made it a point to get a game boy light, but it was kinda expensive. Its really neat though and pretty much the only way I play gb games now, ha.
Ill edit up the picture tonight and see if i can toss it up along with re-upload @madmax's updated pic.
I'm still debating whether or not to add a picture of my hard drive. :p
@soera, it looks like all you need is a flash.
My kid self's mind would be blown seeing this :P
@dstone I want your MVS cab! Am jealous!
I swear the only time I can ever spot a deal on a MVS is when I'm broke.
I wouldn't call it small. It looks quite impressive actuallyThat's very nice.
Thank you :)
It's small but I'm proud of it. Kinda sad though, I caught Pneumonia a few weeks back and had to sell off Suikoden II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Shining Force III to cover the bill. :'(

When I get my own place, I have blueprints made up for an entertainment center and shelving. Now... to be able to have my own place again, sigh.
I have plans for a man cave as well where video games will be kept. I just need a house now, certainly not in Vancouver. A house with a basement, 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms .etc goes for over $1mill <.<Yeah, that's part of what brought me to Edmonton
Move to Oklahoma ... its a fuckhole of a state but stuff is cheap.
Move to Oklahoma ... its a fuckhole of a state but stuff is cheap. My house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, 2 car garage is about 80k.
As far as OK being a "fuckhole", meh, not really. Would you rather live in Arkansas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North/South Dakota, Mississippi, West Virginia, Kansas, Louisiana, etc? Not dogging those other states too hard, but the positives to OK outweigh the negatives to most other states that aren't on a coast or in the northeast.
You have to remember that apart from cool cities in other states, rural areas are all practically identical across the US. A small town in Cali, New Jersey, Ohio, Washington, etc. will be just as podunk as one in OK.
I would much rather live in Florida, back where I was born! :P ... And when I call it a fuckhole, its mostly cause I really hate how backwards and slow the state is about most things.
Very nice setup blipcs, very... presentable :P
Cool selection of arcades too, I'd love to have space for that many.
That Ms. Pac-Man machine is awesome!
I would like a Ninja Gaiden stand up (I could have gotten one years back for $50 complete and I still kick myself for not getting it at the time) and a UMK3 machine.
Is the Ninja Gaiden the one with the button on the top of the joystick? If so, thats the one I regret not buying. Im not sure if there is more than one version to be honest.
That Ms. Pac-Man machine is awesome!
Thanks. It's in pretty solid shape, though the colors are a little faded all around. I don't think I've ever seen a vintage Ms. Pac Man marquee where the pink wasn't all burned off. Plays like a champ though.
Im jealous of the Messiah! I really have been interested in getting one.Same here... Ive wanted the wireless controllers for a while.
This is my Red Tent (sister playing), such a fun little arcade. I need to get the other side working, it has Castlevania VS(http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee465/Varkias/DSC00245.jpg)
Awesome room shots scott! I like the shrine-o-castlevania!
man I really need a Vivi Figurine. That one looks awesome
Well, its about time I finally got a new set of pics of the game room up and viewable. :D Enjoy! I do. :)
http://s1261.photobucket.com/albums/ii584/DWcollector/Game%20room/
I love the look of all the NES carts lined up on the wall. It's like a wall of happiness. Those boxed Dragon Warriors are pretty sweet too.
I really want to get a game room together. Does anyone have any ideas on how to put N64 games out. No end lables make finding the one you want a pain. Scratch that. I'm starting a new thread.
@pceslayer I've been trying to get them bigger no luck any ideas? The towers I got a little while ago but didn't pay any attention to the name etc I tried google media towers found a link here: http://www.google.com/shopping/product/10947470862182118092?tbm=shop&source=mog&hl=en&gl=us&client=ms-android-verizon&tab=if&q=media%20tower&sa=N&biw=360&bih=640&ei=J5gcUNbpMdDwiQKuQw&ved=0CJIBEPMCMAk
@exonerator I'm also wondering why you have 9 Gamecubes? I can understand collecting one of each color, but you've got lots of duplicates.
You mean everyone doesn't have at least 9 gamecubes? lol@exonerator I'm also wondering why you have 9 Gamecubes? I can understand collecting one of each color, but you've got lots of duplicates.
Perhaps he was stocking up for parts? I know for a while I could find them for less than $20...
thanks guys... If you have any ideas on how it might look better let me know.
@scott lol

Welcome to the site!
Nice setup. I like seeing all of those consoles stacked and ready to play, regardless if you have to use a bunch of power strips so they're all plugged in simultaneously ;) I hate those big brick power plugs. Thank God modern consoles put the brick in the middle of the cord rather than at the plug.
Welcome to the site Hexydes! I really dig you set up too, I wish I had room to do something like that for all of my consoles too. Its pretty sweet (though I'm picky enough I'd attempt to hide the power strips).
That shelf with the consoles is awesome, I may have to copy your idea once I end up buying a house.

Not sure if you're replying to me (I saw a few shelves with consoles), but if so, thanks! It was a good solution, those shelves are pretty cheap, and they're very minimalist, so as not to distract from the real beauties. :)
Yeah, I was replying to you, that's a very cool setup. I don't have the space for a shelf like that now (so my setup is super messy, but when I have a bigger space I'm definitely doing something similar.

Thanks for the welcome!
Yeah, those big bricks suck, they generally took up two spots, so I have probably one adapter more than I actually need, just to fit them in. I'll probably upgrade to one single, long power strip here eventually, but for now, it was a cheap solution!
I had this issue as well, but with my entertainment center I was able to hide and mount one of these vertically:

They are a little pricey but it works great! No more cables on the floor and one single cable (plus the TV) going to the power outlet.

Excellent Zelda shrine! You don't seem to be missing much.
no animals = clean game room. :)
That's a great looking collection exo but I can only give you a 6.5 out of 10. There are two major problems: you have a Pepsi sign not a coke one, and on this site we make sure that there is at least one animal in our collection photos.I drink neither Coke nor Pepsi due to my carbonation intolerance, but I find that the vintage Pepsi logo is awesome. I do however, have this Coke gem in my room:
I suggest you give me a re-evaluation! ;)Ok, ok I'll upgrade you to an 8... now if you want a 9 I better get some cookies :D
Thanks, still in need of shelves. The upper shelf of my desk looks like it's gonna break soon.
So, my first step to building the gamer room was complete today, or so I thought. Managed to wall mount the new TV that was delivered. Set up a PS2 to test out the picture. Turned on the TV for the first time and found this :Are you sure you're just not seeing the Matrix in it's true form?
http://imgur.com/z7Nw7
Yep, a shattered LCD screen on the brand new TV.
:'(
Took new pics of my room, haven't taken updated pics in a while.
Just gonna post the link to the album on my photobucket.
ZOMG click here for pictures (http://bit.ly/VYh8D9)
No animals in my actual collection pictures so I took a separate picture of my dogs.

Do you know you have some PS2 games on your PSP pics?1). What's that PS1 game "Alive" like, andAh! my bad.
2). Same question for your PS3 game "Siren: Blood Curse"?
Thanks : )
A lot of good stuff in that collection you got there!
Witcher 1+2 LE / Alone 5 LEAAAAAAAAARGH I WANT THAT ALONE 5
http://www.2imgs.com/53801c36e5
Got it for 7$, guy said the game sucks so he was selling it for nothing ;D*sobs*
Clunky controls but i enjoyed the game, even if i prefer Alone 4
Okay, I have to ask ... where is the clear ps2 case from? I want one!
Here is the vidoe of my previous gameroom.Did you get a bigger place or move game rooms?
I am supposed to make a new video soon :)
pecslayer - You winThe internet?!?
pceslayer...I am the jealous... That is an awesome setup!Lets see here... starting at the first box
How did you come to have 6 xbox360 boxes? Did you buy six of them, or just aquire them from other folks?
I think that strip's bigger than my room.pecslayer - You winThe internet?!?

This is a REALLY old pic, but the best one I could find. It shows a Windows 98 PC, my TV, switch box, Sat box, PS2, VCR, netbook, and very little PS2 games. When I clean it up, I'll take a newer pic. What games do you have on that bad boy?
Glad to see someone else appreciates God of War! I also have that Zelda timeline poster. :)
Nice looking collection zierlaz! I really like the look of the X3 box :)

Sweet setup. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the TV you were going to give me? ;D
All of these are great I love that castlevania display @scott.
@zierlaz I love that shelving!
I'll post some pictures once I clean up a bit
It's nothing near as big as some of these, but I'm digging it so far.
Reworked my home theater/gaming setup quite a bit....

Thanks! I'm hoping that when I get moved into the new house, I can get a even better display set up for them.
Okay, here are some of mine....
Ive posted mine a few times but I really need a good camera for people to get a decent view of it. Im going to get one eventually!
Okay, here are some of mine....
Cramped, indeed! lol
Nice collection though!
I do the same thing for my N64 games.
Diggin' the Misfits and Metallica posters too!
(I'll be seeing Metallica this summer at Orion! Stoked! Festival is gonna be insane!)
A+ on that VHS collection too, Batman Beyond, Akira and Legend (looks a little like my collection!)
Always wanted a C64 for the music tracking programs, but I can never find them!
I will also say, that super ball looks like alot of fun!
Heh that would be a long drive for you anyhow. :) I may have to pick up a cheap cell phone just for pics. Some of them have really decent cameras.
Reworked my home theater/gaming setup quite a bit. Finally got everything hooked back up.
Still working on cable management and programming the lighting system. And my rear speaker stands are still on backorder for some reason.
I now have single button access to the NES, SNES, N64, Wii, Genesis, 32X, SegaCD, Saturn, Dreamcast, 3DO, Jaguar, Xbox 360 and PS3. Still working on the classic game station based around a CRT that will house the Atari consoles, Colecovision, Intellivision and SMS. I'll probably end up moving the NES over to that setup to make room for the Turbografx (plus I'll be able to use the light gun again).
The arcade is now somewhat organized. Need to finish cleaning and remove a few dead machines so I can start cabling everything up.
I have that same entertainment part to hold my systems and have the same problem!! not enough room!
Ugh! I am insanely jealous of that shelf!

Lol thanks. It was a long road getting to this point with it. I was standing there looking at the box of stuff, debating on adding a fourth shelf to it too.

I don't have a game room, but you can see my main setup here -Duo-R/RX!! and is it a good idea to keep the Saturn on a sub like that?
It's an RGB modded Duo-R 8)
The sub's so big it's practically a small table, the Saturn's just fine there :)
I did the mod myself using one of these kits - link (http://www.retro-access.com/ourshop/prod_363563-PC-EngineTurbo-Grafx-RGB-mod-kit-with-fully-amped-cable-and-socket.html)
I managed it at 3am with a four year old watching, it's not a difficult job :)

I went to big lots on a whim today and walked out with a cheap Sauder bookcase! The strategy guide collection is now out in view! The game room continues to build in awesomeness!

Big Lots is a good place for random furniture. We picked up a Microsoft "officially licensed" Xbox 360 console entertainment center there a while back. Kinda cool.

Paid $29.99 for put it together yourself shelves that house a lot of my collection from Big Lots.
Speaking of cheap shelving that works wonders. I upgraded my Castlevania shelves to a stack of 4, instead of the original 3! Things look a lot nicer now that they are spread out a bit more.

I made a slight adjustment to my game room this weekend. I'm not finished with everything, but here's a preview.
They're wall shelves (track system stuff). I had two more cubes on top of the 3x3s on the bottom but decided I wanted to actually SEE the games I play the most. I'm not finished with the project, nor am I completely happy at this point, but it's a step in the right direction for now. It's looking great! I've been wanting to get some new shelves for my room, mine are too deep for my taste. I found a place that sells open box stuff and I seen these there for $20 http://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-35435725-Media-Tower-BluRay/dp/B0058O8ES8 (http://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-35435725-Media-Tower-BluRay/dp/B0058O8ES8)

Man, you're game room looks way more classy than mine.
Hahaha!
My "game room" is basically a wall w/ some pictures on it, 1 bookcase, and a bunch of closets, shelves, and drawers -but- I'm "weird" like that, I guess, in that 'displaying' has never seemed very important to me...
I actually enjoy the displaying part. It makes everything feel like a cohesive unit when its all in its right spot. :)
When you mounted the giclees, were the frames double hanger or single hanger? Cause my LP frames were double hanger and man, what a pain in the ass that was trying to get them level.
minesWhoa, that is... wow!
So I don't really have my own "Game Room" but I do have a decent collection of things!
I live in an apartment with a few friends and I keep most of my games in my bedroom, and most of the systems are either in the living room with the big TV, and then the old systems are in our dining room, with an old tube tv :p Its kinda neat!
Okay, still not satisfied but I'm tired of messing with it :)

It is nice to have most of my systems hooked up and ready to play!
Here is my collection as of 11 June 2013, I got a couple of new games since then.
You have some pieces that a lot of bigger collections dont have (mine included). Vay and Rayearth have been missing from my collection for years. :(
A lot of nice setups here. Been working on getting my collection into the site here the past couple days which is taking forever but almost done. Mine isn't so much a game room as it's my bedroom :P. I don't have much of the older games as this is just stuff I've amassed while growing up over the past 20 or so years while playing games. My original SNES and Rock 'N' Roll Racing was stolen when I was like 6 :'(
The desk is kind of my own Frankenstein creation reusing the metal legs from the old one and have been welded/moved and an actual wood (not cardboad) top that I drew up, cut, stained and put it all together. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I see a Bride seat, a snail, and some car posters. What kind of car do you drive?
I do some writing on a video game site. And we were wanting to put up some video content. I am probably the least qualified person. But it has been an idea that has been tossed around for a while with no action. It's hard finding time and such. So, I decided to try tackling it. Anyways, I made a quick (very rough) video just to test out the idea. the voice over needs a lot of attention. The footage isn't great. But I didn't want to spend more than 30-45 minutes on the first rough cut before getting suggestions. This is my first time using editing software of any kind. So, I didn't want to spend to much time spinning wheels or going down a wrong path before getting feedback. I'm going to be spending more time on it this week based on suggestions.
Anyways, I wanted to get some people's suggestions on format and the like as I start editing and redoing voice work this week. I thought this site could be a good resource as well. Thanks!
Soera, my friend, take this the nicest way possible. I hate you and your collection. All those NES and SMS games are too awesome. It it so awesome, it offends me. Seriously, eff you.
Obviously I'm kidding. You're NES collection is something of legend and I'm sure your SMS collection will end up just as amazing.

That bubble bobble painting/poster is so freakin cool stethebubble!'i got it from comic con a few years ago. love artist alley.
Good taste on the dead man. :)Seconded
These are all pretty awesome! After seeing them it is quite hard to consider what I have a collection or even a game room, haha. I have about 30 - 35 games total, but I do love em all. I may try to post some pics of my room, (or man cave as my wife calls it), at some point, but it is quite lacking compared to these. Can't wait to see more...these all rock!

You're probably WAY more sane than the rest of us. Quality over Quantity
Great looking collections denniedarko and forte. Just a heads up forte, there are a couple other games besides mega man out there :DMega Man 2?
That Blaster master shirt is awesome! Id wear that bastard all the time. Im going to have to find me one now. Also Im digging that little game rack in the middle of the room. Its so odd that its really cool on its placement.

I think I never wore it because it was too small when I was a kid, let alone now :)
The rack in the center works pretty well, but was pretty much put there out of necessity. Just running out of room with the space I have. I used to have a Zelda collection between the Pac Man and Mario, but needed the shelf space and had to ditch it.
What size is the shirt? :o And take credit for that rack where it is. Its cool that way!
PacPix nice set up!! 8) Love it! If I may ask, would you support a NHL team if they expanded to Seattle or do you just like Baseball and football? Thanks!
PacPix nice set up!! 8) Love it! If I may ask, would you support a NHL team if they expanded to Seattle or do you just like Baseball and football? Thanks!
Baseball is my favorite, but I would love to have the NHL return to Seattle! I have never watched hockey a whole lot, but I love hockey video games and it looks like a fun, fast paced sport to watch. Supposedly the NHL is saying if there is an expansion/relocation that Seattle will be the first place the team will go. I have not wanted to get invested into a team since I want to wait for Seattle to get a team. I thought we were close when it looked like the SuperSonics were coming back, but hopefully it is not too much longer. Seattle had the first USA Stanley Cup so we deserve to have a team!
Oh and you're pics of your game collection makes me curious. Do you have any pics of you're tv and gaming systems set up?:o ha I thought I took a picture of that already.
Nice! :) Which system do you play the most?Lately its been 3DS, NES, SNES, and some Odyssey 2. It usually varies on whether I have recently bought games for the system or not. The ones I have played the most of are SNES and N64 and the least is Genesis (Have not even turned it on since early this year).
I'm impressed. Very nice setup. It's hard to keep stuff looking clean and neat with that much stuff. You pulled it off. I like it.
I have to ask ... what exactly are those little stands most of the systems are on? I like the thought of them cause my guess is thats where you "store" the cords for the controllers while they are plugged in which is one of my biggest consistency issues is the cord flops wherever.
Just started using this site. Enjoying the thread. Here's my setup, which has 44 systems that are hooked up and ready to play. Parts of the game collection are shown in the video.
@pceslayer that is amazing!!! :D 8)Thanks.. Needs a lot of work
Can I come to your house and play games? lol

On you're first game room pic you posted, what the heck is that PICO kids looking laptop thing in the box?
That's amazing! I see it's not too expensive either on ebay. I'm going to have to grab one if i ever see it thrift shopping. Okay. If I can ask one more question then I'll stop with all the harassment ;) On you're big screen tv pic with your modern consoles, where did you get the black stand to the right of the tv that you have some stuff on? That would be great for me and I want to go get one.
P.s. Kudos on the Mario applause doll. I used to have one as a kid and those things are amazing :)
Chrono Trigger - Sweet

Lol sort of. The Game Chasers organized a fundraiser on Indigogo this last fall to fund the release of their DVD. There were various commitment options, and the more you donated, the more stuff you got. I paid $30 I think which got me the DVD set and a game that the Game Chasers hunted themselves. They warned people that "it might not be a good game" which Batman Forever certainly is not lol, but I thought it was so cool that it was a game that was actually hunted for and was given to me by the Game Chasers. So yea, if it weren't for that I wouldn't even own this game, and it sure as hell wouldn't be sitting on top of my display with some of the SNES greats :p

@bikingjaulty, this may sound very strange but your game room pics turned me on :) . I love it! :)
Wow bikingjahuty, that's an amazing collection! I hope mine can get that big eventually. And I hope I have the space for it then :P
Thank you very much :). I've been collecting for a while so what you see if the labor of hunting for about 5 years. Getting my games as cheap as possible really helped with getting so many games. Being obsessed with video games, like pretty much everyone here, also helped :p
I'm still awaiting on Captain Soera and General Turfs collection pics?I'm glad I out rank soera. I need to do some pictures but my room looks like shit. I'm out of space and I refuse to box anything up. I may do a video. That'll be easier than posting a ton of pictures.
Captain Soera. I like that. I actually am planning to take some pics today and get them up here. :)
You may want to rethink this. There are videos of what soera does with Seamen! LOL ;DCaptain Soera. I like that. I actually am planning to take some pics today and get them up here. :)

This must be what Heaven looks like 8) No words to describe this. Thanks for putting these up. This was amazing and has me emotional. Very Very awesome collection. First Dragon Warrior collection like that I have ever seen. :D :D :D :D It's crazy tho' I pictured you completely different lol.
May I ask how did you get that PlayStation store demo tv thing?

Yeah, its all one room. That room is packed full of amazing!
Man. Maaaaaaan. Awesome, Soera! I wanna live in your gaming room :)
Hah thanks sure you can rent my game room! :)
And you are right. I am funny and cool and will lick an ass if I have to. :)
That game room is awesome Soera! I really like the Dragon Warrior/Quest collection!

Great collection. love what you did with master chief. not so fond of the controllers on the wall but each to his own.
also you dont look like i pictured you in my head. was a little shocked to see you in the photo.
I like the controllers on the wall. It adds to the ambiance as well as making them super easy to access and the cords dont end up all tangled together if just put in a big box/crate/whatever.
Im not a huge board game fan. None of them seem very interesting and I probably wouldnt even have them if I didnt find them at thrift stores.as i said each to their own.

The ottoman thing seems pretty cool. I thought about that because I have a 2 person couch in my room sitting in front of my 55" for the new games. I don't currently have anything to rest my feet on but that sounds cool. Do you keep them all in like big Ziploc bags?
Survey time!Beer up and talk about everything! That's always the best route.
How long will you sit and listen to me ramble about my piles of games? Be warned, I say "neat" and "Umm" a lot. I wasn't in "public speaking" mode when I did the first run.
Anything I should spend more time on? What do you want to hear about?
I think I'm going to do the whole thing again since I don't know anything about editing.
I didn't try the first time and it was 16 min.
The Boy's gone. I may get off in a couple beers and then do it.

Here it is, My Last Corner of the World. I know I say some stuff wrong in the video, so get off my back. I also suck as a cameraman.
I know a Game Gear isn't a Genesis and that a Laser Scope isn't a Super Scope. I just misspoke.

Y'all with your videos make me wanna make one of my own, but I don't have a camera besides on my phone, and I also have maybe at most half of my collection with me (the rest is at my parents' house due to a lack of space in my apartment), so I wouldn't have much to show. I do like to talk a lot though, according to everybody I know, heh. When I have something to show someday, I might give it a go, I guess.
lol @ Bobster. I was cracking up many parts while watching this with my wife. When Turf said his wife likes him for some reason and when he mentioned a lot of games and the awesome Battletoads nes she bought him, I looked at my wife and told her "See. I told you its okay to buy video games for me" and she just walked away lol. Amazing video! I actually want Turf to do more gaming videos. I think they will be very cool. General Turf's Video Game Adventure Series or something. My girlfriend was watching the video with me too. She mentioned that everything Turf really liked or was expensive was a gift from his wife lol. I just played it off and I was like yeah that's cool of her *Shifty eyes*. She's always afraid of getting me something, and then I'll have suddenly bought myself one too. Oh well!
Bobster, do you have a game room video or pics for us?
It can't be as bad as mine. Jump in there. It's fun.

You should Turf. See, everyone else is wanting to load videos because yours was so awesome and entertaining! :) We don't care about it being edited and all that crap. That's why yours is so good because it's real and you are honest with all your stories on how you got your stuff. I am a fan

I was tempted to actually do a video of my room instead of pics ...
I just watched all 22 minutes of your video. It didnt even seem like it was that long to be honest. It was cool. I should do one someday. Im not sure how sexy it would be though. That goes more with my after hours videos I make.
I don't have a dedicated room to all this stuff. This just sits in the corner of my living room.

Thanks! I really liked the videos of your stuff too! You really piqued my interested into the Dreamcast homebrew. I'm definitely going to be looking at some of that stuff now.
I did a test yesterday and my cellphone camera does a good enough job, so when I have some free time and when my boyfriend won't be home, I'll make a video too! Until then, I'll practice my spoken English... I sound awful right now, I haven't spoken in English in too long :P

I find this hard to believe -and- I'm sure that you'll do just fine, sister Karyann ;)
Your English (*Especially* for a 2nd language) is very good ;D
If you'd never told me otherwise...I'd have never guessed/known that English wasn't your native language 8)
'Sides that...*EVERYONE* knows that accents are just damned sexy...particularly when they're in a woman's voice ::)
You guys crack me up :P Speaking isn't the same as writing, though. I have less time to think about how to form sentences, and then there's the damn pronunciation. And I'm natively French-Canadian, so I have a weird English accent ::) It was better back in high school though, I played MMORPGs everyday and spoke with some American friends, so I was more "into it".
We would still love a video when you get the chance :)
May I ask, who is your favorite NHL team?
I knew it! No one cares about hockey, not even Canadians.
Hockey is stupid. Curling is the greatest sport!you should be slapped for saying that
I didn't ask you Turf ;) I care about hockey and I'm American. Been watching the Rangers and Islanders at Yankee stadium. Good game
@Karyann, you have to do the video when your boyfriend is gone?
I didn't ask you Turf ;) I care about hockey and I'm American. Been watching the Rangers and Islanders at Yankee stadium. Good game
@Karyann, you have to do the video when your boyfriend is gone?
There's many reasons. First, he has lots of exams coming up, so I don't wanna make too much noise and bother him while he studies. Also, I'm somewhat too much self conscious, and I feel weird if someone sees me talking "to a camera". :P And last, I won't have to make sure he doesn't make too much background noise in the video, which would be a little lame to listen to :)
So I decided to move most of my "retro" games (5th gen-down -N64) and actually move that stuff to my bedroom and fill up a bare corner that had nothing in it. cords are a mess right now but I'm going to tackle that this weekend and hopefully get the bigger TV up there, so you could say this is an early Alpha build

I can see so far that this will be fantastic set up :D It looks very nice right now. The thing on the wall with the Sega cartriges is that for cassettes or 8-tracks?

LOL! I was thinking the same thing when I seen all the Dragon Warrior stuff. Now, lets wait to see Soera's response to this ;)
Anruiukimi, I know your new to the site, (welcome to the site by the way), but Soera is a die hard Dragon Warrior fan and may do a combo breaker on you and may lick and kick your ***. Your choice. And then as a side note, a member named Turf, does not have a Dragon Warrior shrine; however, Turf is an underwear model and loves to send out random unwanted half naked selfies to all the members on here so I'm just warning you ;D
Heh I was right. I went to the den and the last person I talked to on there was you. :)

LOL you guys are hilarious. You would be right in saying that our collections would compliment each other. I had actually pre-ordered all 3 rugs but I cancelled them cause I wasnt too happy with the final look of them. I havent branched out too much on the DQ swag. I do have to say I wish I had more access to the JP stuff. Its just super expensive here. Glad to see someone has the inflatable slimes. Ive looked into getting those but figured they would be cheesy. After seeing yours, I may get one myself.

I just think the ones that are actually being pre-ordered now look like knockoffs.
Ill definitely look at getting one of the inflatables now. But if you look at my game room pics on here, Im pretty limited on space especially in my DQ area heh.
I may still get the actual staircase one. I dont have a way to see the ones that are on the JP site. Do you have pics or links to all of them?
Heh space is definitely an issue here. 3 kids and all. :)
Its a problem I never thought Id have to deal with. :) I honestly have considered thinning out the collection but when I go in there to figure out what I would let go of, I always walk out of the room empty handed. :P

I hope you're kidding, or else I don't think I'll ever touch any DQ game ever again :o I actually played VIII for 3 hours (I don't consider that "playing" it for such a long game, more like dipping my toe) but I got so freaking tired of grinding, especially right off the bat. Seriously, 2 hours of grinding just to reach the second village?! I almost threw my PS2 off the window and promptly traded the game :(
IV, VII, and VIII were definitely my favorites. I also really enjoyed Caravan hearts.
I have only used Amiami as my place to get lucky on finding JP DQ stuff. Thats the place I had the mats on pre-order already. :o I may still get one ... grrrr, you trying to get me to spend my money! :P
I have been habitually referred to as a bad influence, especially when it comes to buying fun stuff. :P I've been semi-banned from shopping with a friend of mine after an almost $1k day in Osaka (the two of us together, not separately) back in 2008. The $250 Gundam suitcases didn't help....
If you want the arrow mats, you'll want to get a shopping service to help, unfortunately. :/
Personally, I would suggest Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. That game is really really good, and it's on the DS (your favorite system)!
I think we'd have lots of fun together in there haha :) I plan on traveling to Japan eventually, and I already know that I will need a big amount for buying stuff to bring back home. Do you speak Japanese at all?
Funny you say that. Im not the biggest Mario freak either but you are definitely right ... for swag type items, he is top dog. Also I see the 2 McD Skylander toys. We have 4 of them ourselves. Crusher, Jet vac, Drobot, and Ignitor.
I hate Drobot. He is so overpowered on the game its unreal. Him and Crusher. I actually wanted Spyro since before Skylanders, he was still game material. :)
I cant get it to work. Keeps giving me video error message.
It took 7 hours in the end, but I was sleeping since a few hours then :P here goes.I think something borked up in the link somehow. When you click to "watch on youtube" it takes you to youtube.com/? which does nothing.

My boyfriend wanted to watch the video when he came back and I was so shy to show him, I don't know why I felt that uneasy to show him :o Anyway, I'll stop babbling! Now I understand what you went through, Turf :P

Replying to this, I can see the full link that works fine (which I've displayed above). Here's a link to your video at least. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-uenGUdlmA&feature=youtu.be)
I can hear her saying hi VGCollect in the beginning, but I'm at work so I haven't watched it yet.It took 7 hours in the end, but I was sleeping since a few hours then :P here goes.I think something borked up in the link somehow. When you click to "watch on youtube" it takes you to youtube.com/? which does nothing.
Disclaimer: I didn't know what I was doing. And I swear I do write my posts myself (you'll understand when you watch it - my syntax is awfully off in some sentences :P ), it's just that I was speaking too fast to form sentences correctly in my head I guess haha. Loved the video karyann. I don't know why you were nervous. You did great. That was fun, wasn't it?

haha, I don't know either. I guess it's because it was my first time recording myself. It's not like people aren't used to see me talk all the time :P My boyfriend thinks I should have taken more stuff out of the drawers to show, but I don't know. I didn't want this to become an hour-long video either :o
Heh cool video. I laughed when Yoshi attacked you. :PFunny thing is that I had just previously said how he doesn't stand still, yet I put him over my head, while I was shaking the tower. I should have seen that come, yet I didn't at all haha.
I really like the skylander stealth elf candy tin, that scythe stylus is something I would use, and I didnt realize they had come out with a hardback Link between worlds guide. Guess I have one more thing to look for.I got the candy tin at Gamestop, I think there was also Jet-vac and...
Going to watch the video after I post this reply. Kenny, I played Torneko. It doesnt have an RPG feel. Its more like a solo dungeon crawler action game. It didnt hold my attention past a few hours.
I'll have to watch the video when I get home, sounds like a good one. :)
I wish I could do a proper one myself, but most of my stuff is in boxes :/

Most of my stuff is 500 kilometers away from me, so I get how you feel :) I just can't wait to have a proper place to have all my stuff with me. That day will be MAGICAL cue bishoujo pink sparkles
Personally, I would suggest Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. That game is really really good, and it's on the DS (your favorite system)!
Aww, you noticed :D I'll definitely consider it!

Dude, did you see mine? There was shit everywhere. If you put it off until you're ready, it'll never happen. Just do it. :)
It's actually a lot of fun. I'm trying to come up with new ideas to make videos about. It's hard to fit stuff into my unedited, sloppy format.
I'll make sure to check it out as soon as I get home. Love seeing everyone else's game rooms.
Awesome Video! :) I will have to agree with Soera that the best part was when you were attacked by Yoshi. At first, I thought you fell or something lol. The camera shook for a moment and I was confused. But it was just Yoshi lol. But love the accent!! :D You sound very cute and fun to hang around. It also reminded me that I want a PSP and a neo geo pocket color very badly
Just curious, Do you use your laptop for gaming?
yeah but I don't want to be tripping everywhere while filming, not to mention the family just got a cat, so I would like to get it so he ( or my dog who is less likely, but very big) couldn't get into too much trouble being in hereReally loving the video tours of the game rooms. now if I would stop being lazy, Clean up and actually shoot some video...

thats a big bear for a such a small room.
Very nice video! I'm going to have to steal the drawers idea from you. I have a bunch of player 2 controllers, memory cards and misc stuff that has no place at the moment.
This has me thinking of making my own video tour, but I'd need to finish setting some things up. I don't have a lot of things out in the open.

Please make a video too! It's fun to watch, and I'm sure we mostly don't care about mess :P I love these drawers things. They don't look that good, but they don't look ugly either. I guess it's a great neutral area. And they sure are really useful!
^^^ That is what I call a quality collection! I saw a boxed EVO and was like o.o!!!! lol
Looks great anruiukimi! But those poor boxes on the bottom of the stacks!
I think you need a few more GameCubes.I need 18 more so I can make a GameCubeCube. Its motto? "Now you're playing with the power of 3".
Great collection. Loving the pc in the middle with the VG forums on it :)Thank you! That's where all the magic happens, haha.
I love the bidoof cards on display in the boxes haha. Love the Pokémon stuff everywhere. And that's a lot of gamecubes to have :oGlad you noticed! :o Bidoof is stronger than all legendaries combined, every tin needs to be about Bidoof-EX. Also, I really like your collection as well, especially the video.

I seriously love bidoof! He's really cute, but people hate him so much, poor little guy. :(
And thanks!
I hate Bidoof. I think it's because in the first game he's in, he's one of the Pokemon you fight constantly at low level. Which is strange because Pidgey is in the same boat, but he's one of my favorites.
That's some epic shelving.
I have got to see more pics of the blanket. This! Where did you score that blanket from?!?
It looks like a home made quilt made out of t-shirts? ???It kinda does doesn't it... I still want!
It looks like a home made quilt made out of t-shirts? ???
nes, snes, genesis, xbox, 360, n64, dreamcast, Saturn, neo geo, psp, all the Gameboys and ds's, wii and there is some dvds on there but the shelving is the ones from blockbuster I was able to pick up when they closed. Also the blanket a friend of my moms made for me out of a bunch of old halo and xbox shirts truly is awesome il take a better picture of it :)That's some epic shelving.
I second that.

Where did you get the Waluigi matryoshka? That was a gift my friend (Byron is his username on VGcollect) made me for my birthday. It's really quite amazing, isn't it? The Kine with umbrella model on the top of the shelves in the image you linked is another gift he made.

I framed my European Castlevania stickers tonight.
I have one picture framed but it came that way from the store. I dont think I could handle going through the frustrations of framing everything I own heh.
Warning: once you start framing your gaming posters, etc. it's a very slippery slope.
When I get my LOS2 poster from that twitter contest it'll get framed as well. Its 2 sided, so I need to see which one I like better.
I just need to get one more thing, other than framing my Game Informer Castlevania poster.

This wasn't in this month's issue by chance, was it? I had been getting digital but recently told them to start sending me the physical magazine again - but it hasn't kicked in yet. If it's the current issue tho, I can get one of the guys I know at GS to hook me up with it.

I used to have this entire DQ8 stand-up display but it was too bulky and I didn't have room for it. Removed this center piece, which was the main piece anyway. I think it looks really good on its own.
...anyone in SoCal with no pets looking for a roomie next year? :P (One that will let me decorate? ;) )
...anyone in SoCal with no pets looking for a roomie next year? :P (One that will let me decorate? ;) )
I've got relatives in Orange County (Mission Viejo, to be more specific - near Saddleback College) who may have rooms for rent next year...is that close enough to where you'd want to be for me to follow up on for you?
My neighbor's house is empty as of a couple days ago. Of course its not SoCal but its probably just as cheap to rent a house here in OKC as it would be to rent a room in SoCal. :)
Whats your job? :o It could be here too!!
Whats your job? :o It could be here too!!
But I liiiiike Cali! And I like myinmatescustomers :P
Oh yeah, I remember what you do now. :)
Id like Cali too. But Im stuck here atm and its really not all that expensive to live here and it gets warm enough to ride almost anytime I want.
I *thought* that I knew you from somewhere! :-[
Argyle, where did you get the frames for the posters? And how much does it cost?
Different places - the 3 PS2 posters are in frames I got from Wal-Mart. I've had them a while, but I want to say I paid around $10/each for them. The Nintendo Power posters I got from Michael's (an arts & crafts store, dunno if it's regional or not). They were having a buy 1 get 1 sale so they averaged around $8-$10 each I think. Some of the others I've had for a while so I don't remember where or how much I paid. And the PA strip is in a frame that I frankly overpaid for, but I wanted it in a nicer frame so there ya go. ;D
Since my first post, I've upgrade from "Gaming Shelves" to "Gaming Bookcase"! lol I got everything better organized now. Top shelf is nothing but Zelda games. Second shelf is basically all Nintendo related. Third Shelf is Nintendo 64 since I can actually pull them out of the drawer now and Sega games. Fourth Shelf is PS1/PS2/PS3 and Xbox 360 Games. and bottom shelf is mostly just for whatever and the few cased copies of PC games I have. I have a bunch of physical PC games over the years, but most of those are just in a big CD case. I have some more gaming memorabilia stuff to put on the shelf that are elsewhere in the room right now, but I'm slowly building up.

I love this setup especially the layout with the tv, the stands on the side and how you have looks like a dvd player on a separate platform from the top. Very very nice setup in my opinion
So a bit of an update on my new game room plans:
As I said in my last comment, I was planning on moving my game room downstairs to the basement, where the room to store and display my collection would almost triple! Sadly, that plan is out; a family member of mine has recently needed a place to live and they'll need the space of the finished basement to live and store their stuff for the foreseeable future. While this is less then ideal for the sake of the my collection, i've chosen to use this situation to my advantage and cultivate my current game room to max the amount of display space I have for my collection.
I have been working all weekend to accomplish this project, keeping in mind that I'd like to have at least 99% of my entire game collection on display. While the room is not finished yet, I have succeeded!
I plan on posting pics of the new room and possibly a video tour of my revamped game room within the next week or so. Can't wait to share it with you guys and gals :)
Jesse, awesome game room tour, I really enjoyed it! Question, who is the artist who did those custom FF posters? Wondering if they have an online store, I love their art style!
EDIT: Also, thanks for pointing out the Shenmue LE. I honestly never paid any attention to there being a difference - I've had my copy since it released. Had it in my collection as the standard, but checked last night and I do have the LE so I updated that. ;)
Here is my updated Game Room Tour as promised! Enjoy!

Awesome tour. :) How are you liking Earthbound so far?
I haven't had a chance to watch the 2nd part of your video Biking, but I'm super jealous of your Suikoden 2 protagonist statue! You've got a pretty sweet collection though :D
This is a shelf I built for my NES collection. Let me know what you think. It holds about 105 clear case nes games.

The renovations of my gameroom are finally over!!Great looking room wish I had the space to do it. Someday I will have the room to showcase all my stuff. But looks really good.
I have a question relevant to thread. Is it OK to show both regular and diagrammed photos of Game Room?

I use a photo hosting site. There are many of them, but I use photoBUCKET. It gives you several links after you upload the pics, choose the IMG Direct link and it will post the actual picture.

Not my collection, but a good friend of mine and local collector made a game room tour recently and I thought I'd share it simply because it is one of the most impressive collections I have ever seen. Sadly he downsized his classic Nintendo collections recently, but still. If you are a Sony fan you will crap your pants when you see if PS1 and PS2 collections.

What? a N64 Box set for Pokemon Stadium?! I didn't even know that N64 Set existed.
Wow some amazing game rooms holy cow! :oAh, excellent to see another EU gamer here! Nice collection!

game room update. This is the best idea I have ever seen.....
i have now made progress on my controller storage area for new systems.
i need to frame it out still
it is between the studs in the wall which will allow me to cover it with hinged art work.
if anyone is willing to donate broken controllers for this art work i would be extremely grateful

That Castlevania shrine is amazing Scott!
Added another shelf to the Castlevania shrine! I ended up moving the manga and comic book tbp off to a bookshelf though. But things are a lot less crammed together now.

Umm how fucking long is that room? :o
Have you posted pics of your collection somewhere else before? I felt like I've seen these before. -I guess there's only so many ways to stack 10,000 games on a shelf. ;)
Everything has been said about Flea's game room, but still a wow from me.
Mail me the opening hours for that museum, and next time im in the USA ill visit ;D
Criminy Flea - how many complete system collections are there? That's kinda a lot of games! :P
Damn Flea that is awesome! I loved looking through it all and I will have to look at them at least 3 more times to see everything. You know there is a lot to look at when I missed all the Gameboys the first time through lol
i so need to see this in person. there is only one issue i see with this game room.... it doesnt belong to me.
i love the set up and how everything it so neat.
sound good to me, i will be up there at some point this year (when it gets warmer)i so need to see this in person. there is only one issue i see with this game room.... it doesnt belong to me.

I seem to recall inviting you out game hunting with me when you where in Chicago for a comic/anime convention (still remember the adorable Godzilla pic) But you got tied up with other things. If your ever out here again just let me know. ;)
Your welcome to bring the little Godzilla too, long as she don't wreck my game room like it was Tokyo. ;)
Almost as long as the whole house. lol
When I was looking for a new home I was looking for a finished basement that had a HUGE area for my game room, and boy did i find one. The second I saw the basement I said to my realtor "I'm ready to make an offer" lol
Criminy Flea - how many complete system collections are there? That's kinda a lot of games! :P
Complete sets would surprise you, I have close to many complete sets. 3 to go on NES alone (Not counting holy grail games)
Only missing 39 for a complete PS1 set, and only missing 50 games for a complete N64 set. T16, Neo Geo AES and Neo Geo CD are not far from completion but most of the games i'm missing are expensive.
The only systems I know I have complete is Virtual Boy & Tomy Tutor
I am currently going for a complete Dreamcast collection with only 12 more to go. :D
Amazing collection! I love how orderly it is!
Ok - I have to ask this question. How do you determine what game you are going to play next? Or is at a point where you can't even sit down and play games due to job, family, hunt for more games?
My collection is getting large (not like your 10,000+ collection and I have a hard time knowing what to play next.) I can't imagine having that many games and trying to figure out my next play session. My asperger mind would explode.Almost as long as the whole house. lol

Mine is just in my bedroom so I don't have anything amazing, though I quite like having all the games piled together in the alcove :P

Where you get those shelves at?
Hey TheFlea. What are those lockboxes your using to hold your hand held collections?
Awesome display idea!
I always thought about adding track lighting to my console displays, but was always afraid of the light damaging the consoles over time. Looks awesome though. :)

i have enough lights to do all 8 cubes. i just need more systems.
Yes, this is why you find discolored games consoles. Sunlight is the worst, if your gaming consoles (or carts) is in direct sunlight it can discolor them. Smoking households also discolor consoles and I know standard light bulbs (even many newer ones) will discolor many plastics. Florescent is "supposed" to be better. and I'm not sure about LEDs.
And then she really wanted to try on the Power Glove. lol
I thought this was funny, had a girl come into my game room and this was her reaction.

That's a collection that will surprise anyone. Having that much of anything, other than maybe like...books I guess...is impressive lol

Just wondering what do you store on the Champion's shoe box ?, I'm asking this because I do have own one of this and want to believe that you also store cartridges, cables or anything related to videogames, in my case I store my Nintendo 64 on it ;D
The best DVD/VG shelving I've found from a big retailer are the old Besta units from Ikea that are 8" deep. They don't make them anymore and the new model that replaced it is nearly twice as deep. I've actually bought a few of these older units off Craigslist so you might want to check there. What makes them nice is that none of the shelves are fixed and the backing isn't a cheap, flimsy piece of fiberboard. They're also easy to disassemble.
Here's a pic I took when I was moving and had sold one of them off:

Also, dat 8-bit Mario plush! I'm jealous :)
Today, I did the unthinkable for me. I broke down my entire game room. All the posters off the walls/ceiling, all the games and stuff in boxes, etc. We are looking into a new house. It just feels weird to look at my game room right now.

^^ That N64 JP Ocarina of Time box looks pretty sweet!!!
Yes, there's alot of titles where the JP versions beat the US version. Some of the more notable ones are F-Zero X and Super Smash Bros( which I have), along with Super Famicom Squaresoft RPG's like FF6 and Bahamut Lagoon.^^ That N64 JP Ocarina of Time box looks pretty sweet!!!
It's a cool design compared to the more standard gold background of the NA version and its great that the Japanese stuff is pretty cheap. I would love to get some more Japanese versions eventually.

Now that Ive moved into my new place, my new game area has been set up. Ill get pics probably this weekend. Its not quite what it used to be but its more specific to exactly what I like the most instead of just mass stuff. :)
The move was a definite beneficial status upgrade in my family. Both the wife and I are closer to work (2 miles to mine compared to 8, 1/4 mile for her compared to 10). Better school district. And its my brother's house cause he got relocated in the military so I can deal with family instead of someone I used to work with and couldnt care less about us anymore.

It's a shoe organizer from Target. I got it on clearance, but I think it's usually $18. Not a bad deal. The room has two doors, but we always keep that door closed, so it works really well for that organizer. It also doesn't behave like crummy organizers, the door opens and closes easy with the hooks on the top, I give it a solid 5/5. It even has a little shelf on the top, I put two of my bigger less used controllers up there. Here is the current state of my retro gameroom. Very nice. How does the 360 do in that tighter space? One of my biggest fears is keeping the more modern systems in tighter space, because they need room to breath normally.

The closet has about 10 of those pink bins (in blue color as well) with all of my accessories relatively well sorted by system... as well as like 10 boxes of duplicates, my 20th anniversary ps4, old old systems (atari, odyssey, TI-94/a, arcadia 2001, etc.), and my oversized controllers (ps2 chainsaw, n64 steering wheel, donkey konga bongos, etc.)
One of my steel battalion sets is in another closet with all of the guitar hero/rock band junk. Finally got the disc for steel battalion yesterday, need to try it out. I have another steel battalion set at my brother's apartment about a 4 hour drive from me, need to drive up there one Sunday and pick it up.

A) It's winter time, if you don't use your heater or you have a gas heater, your bill will drop.
B) Most electronics use minor amounts of electricity while off even if plugged in. My understanding is that if you are using a power strip and you turn off the power strip when not using it, the devices shouldn't be able to receive any electricity, but I could be wrong.

A) I actually noticed this happen before the winter and even adjusted for the fluctuations of energy price it still wouldn't have accounted for $20 so all the systems hooked up must have taken up a lot more power than I expected.
B) my power strips are behind my entertainment system and I would love to keep them back their so both flipping the switch on my power strip and unplugging the strip are both difficult and unwanted.
more-so What I was asking was does anyone have any of those smart power strips that actually cut all power to the outlet when the item is not in use? and if so do they work and would you recommend them? like are they cost effective for the price you pay for them?

Here is my setup, lets call it the 1.0 version. I have aspirations to make this a transformer type of setup. I plan on getting an all around unit from ikea or something, or maybe just building it myself. I want the tv in the middles and systems going all around it with games and collectables up top. Of course that is after we close a house next year haha. Condo is a bit small for that.

So I don't have a game room, but I'm in the experimental phases of putting my game collection into my WoN display. Note that the stuff on the bottom is not my collection, just some empty cases I was storing/hoarding. I'm thinking this thing just might hold the bulk of my collection. Still have to get a few more shelves, and then we'll see. My Nintendo banner for the time being is paper, but I'm going to have a hard plastic one made soon. Consider this a work in progress.
NES seems to dwarf everything else. What can I say? I love me some NES.

It looks good but personally im not a big fan of doubling up on shelving space. I would have a field day if I had access to those kinds of fancy shelves.

Yes, it's a hybrid of display and storage. Being 16 inches deep, I feel like it would be a waste for me to only display one row per shelf. Since I don't have a game room, I want to fit as much of my collection in it as possible and have everything in one place rather than strewn across the house, and just put my favorite stuff on the front rows. :D
Here is a link to my vg collection, showing all of my stuff, and follow my PS2 progress as I attempt to find every game for the system for no reason at all! I have over 325 games, so I have a ways to go. but I am finding games just about every week.Really nice use of the gallery section in your collection. I haven't seen anyone use it and the pictures look good. I'm going to have to do something similar when ever I finish my collection. Taking photos of half completed shelves isn't too impressive.

Updated my main shelf.
I just realized my SNES-001 is missing from the picture. >:( Normally it's under the mini SNES because I don't touch it that often, but earlier I had taken it out to play with. Oh well.
Some recent changes since my last update is the Char's Custom GameCube, Game Boy Light (GB Camera is plugged into it), CIB orange GC, more boxed games, more plushes. I also have most of the Disk System flyers now. The other first party flyers out there aren't very interesting.

Oh wait, well, I guess that is old lady prices.
Honestly, I only hold on to some of my duplicate stuff (especially systems) because I'm concerned my sibling unit will attempt to come at me saying I stole "their" game systems.
Is it just me, or is the formatting on the first page completely jacked up?
It's the first page. I clicked it.Is it just me, or is the formatting on the first page completely jacked up?
yeah it is... how did you even notice that?
I don't really have a "game room" per se, but i guess i'll show my current gaming set up(aka desk) anyway.
So this is where i usually game(unless playing handhelds), and while it was taken with my crappy phone camera last year, not much has changed since then. Also, yes, i'm one of those weirdos whos consoles and pc share the same monitor at a desk. One day i'll change that.
Finally finished doing inventory and organizing the game room. Not quite happy, so I might reorganize down the line, and I want to put up a line of shelves around the top of the room.

It's official, I'll be moving into a new place this December which means that I will be setting up an all new game room! The space where the room is going will be much bigger than the current small room it is in. However, I've decided that I do not want to actually take picks or do a tour vid until I reach the 2000 game milestone. I feel like one thing I've done is do tour vids too often when not too much has changed. Would rather wait another year or so to shoot that tour.

19½ long boxes...nice sized collection. :) Which company would you say you have more books from? I grew up a DC guy so I'd say over half my collection is DC books (probably a 60% if I had to guess).
I've been trying to replace my boxes before having to resort to using tape. I wish I could get the hard plastic ones but those are running like $30 apiece...too rich for my blood. :o

Thanks. I like the space. Not the temperature in summer. Should have that worked out after the next tax-return, though.
Mostly Marvel and DC graphic novels. And not a whole lot of graphic novels. Most of my comic collection is the old floppies, in those old beat-up longboxes. A lot of those books you see are sci-fi novels and stuff like Marvel Encyclopedias, or Movie Hound Guides. I also have a row up top of Star Trek novels.

Nice...question through where did ya get those mega man and cuts man figures at?
Wonder why more people dont use the gallery option for thier collection pics? Not super obvious.
I dont use the gallery option because my game room is not where I want it to be. And now that my wife and I are looking to buy a house I've just started packing things up by system. I hope when we find a house I can get that room underway as soon as possible. We already own, but we are talking about having the house expanded to add an extra room. Planning on something like 16x20 or something.

hey I like it. im a big fan of floating shelves where you can not see any supports. also I need to stop being lazy and label my cords sort of how you did. it would make it a lot easier to plug in and play my systems. I currently have to turn my tv and reach behind my entertainment center and hope I grab the right cord.
I do see where tripredacus is coming from though. a game falling from that height can easily be broken.

Thanks, but I wish I had much more... even to this day, Sega and SNK are my favorite hardware companies!
also looking at the pictures the new place is very much needed. the collection is amazing but I have to cringe a little at just the lack of space you have. shelves should not be placed right in front of other shelves. otherwise its set up very nicely.
also curiosity is getting to me. what are those PCB boards I see?
We are brothers from a different mother. I need to get my collection on here. Sega and SNK are my favs, but SNK had to take a backseat after my AES bit the dust. I can't pony up the cash for a new one right now. Still have my consolized MVS though. I prefer Sega. Perfect mix of arcade and console goodness.

*snip*Looking good ferraroso, well organized as well. Gotta love the Metal Heroes support, and don't think Shadow Moon or Black got passed me either ;)
I notice yours (and some others) seem to have every console still plugged in. Do you actually make use of all of those? I used to do that and realized some of them I never really ever played so now the only one that stays plugged in is my PS4 and my SNES modded classic.
How did you go about with the lighting on the console rack? Is it just led strips or something else? Thanks!

I hadn't noticed that at all (and actually had to google the meaning of pin-cushion, haha). Well, maybe I can try soving this in the TV settings, but it doesn't bother me at all.
Does it bother you guys so much?

I hadn't noticed at all either. I grew up with a fondness for magnets so im used to some pretty bad CRT pictures (yes I would always stick them to TV's to see the color distortions). I wouldn't have even classified that as an issue unless it moves the picture in and out while you played.

unfortunately with those last 2 pics i am unable to have enough shelving to hold all those collectors editions/system boxes/pc games. also there are all my spare/non-set-up systems

Updated pics finally. Just sharing a link as to not flood the thread.
I did build them, and I also have baseboards in every room. I built them with a large base, since they can't be flush with the wall, they tend to topple, bigger base means no toppling.https://imgur.com/gallery/rRaFh

Did you make those wooden shelfs or do you buy them from somewhere?
The bane of my shelf life is my house having baseboards in every room.
Great room, ignition365.Yeah, SNES and N64 games are in UGC, Genesis as well... though a lot of those are OG Genesis cases and not UGC.
SNES games are in Universal Game Cases too? I use them for SNES and N64.

Game room looks great Jahuty, like how condensed it is for the small space.
What kind of shelf is that you have for the PS2 games?
All my shelves are from a company called Atlantic. The quality of most of them is meh, but I guess their not too bad considering they've held up for about 5-years now and through several moves. The one with the PS2 games holds 1080 CDs I believe.

I've got the same shelving unit in a different color. Fair warning with them though, a few years back they changed the wood on them, creating a very noticeable drop in quality. I switched to a brand called Prepac, which while not as tall, are far more sturdy (or as sturdy as particle board gets you these days).
It's been 3-years since my last room tour, and since then my collection has been at in two other rooms in two different places. Here it is in all its glory at the moment. Enjoy :)
I've been satisfied with mine. My only qualm is that the footprint of the shelf is larger than the rest of the unit, so it leaves a gap when side by side. However, it makes it much more stable and sturdy, so it's a tradeoff there.

Y’all need to stay on me, and get me to do a video tour of the BOB. I want to do another one.
Figured it was about time to post some pictures of my game rooms. The first couple of pictures are from my Rock Band setup where my xbox one currently resides and the rest are from my game room and closet. Enjoy.

I've been meaning to do an update for quite some time.
I've been meaning to do an update for quite some time. Finally managed to get around to taking some crappy pics the other day. Gonna try and make some notes on changes and such.
Last update I only had one of the big shelving units and I was pretty much out of space. I knew I needed a second unit up there, but didn't really know what to fill it with, was thinking about moving some other systems up there to help free space in the game room. Never did, so the bottom 2 shelves of those units are basically empty.

This area really hasn't changed, and you can see the dust accumulated due to that fact. It's in dire need of rearrangement. I might move the Virtual Boy stuff back over here at some point.

Last time, my modern stuff was relatively small so PS3 still had space in the living room. All modern systems grew to the point there just wasn't room for PS3 anymore. For a period PS3 was stored away in a storage closet (More on that later), but I finally moved them into the game room after I built an additional shelving unit. This pic, I believe, is about 815 PS2 games and 175 PS3 games.

The new shelf I built, this one was a bit of custom dimensions as the shelves are normally DVD sized, this one has 2 long box sized shelves and several jewel case sized shelves to maximize efficiency. One shelf in particular had to be an odd size because there is a door behind the unit, this was where the controller rack was hung in the last update (More on that later). You can see the differences as the Genesis unit is DVD sized.

Not much change here really.

I've since added a coffee table to raise up the Trinitron and that corner is largely being used for storage of one of my newer hobbies... statues and figures. Other than that, not much change here either. I'm still in a big reorganization mode, so the room in general is kind of a mess with things stacked in places.

Bonus pic to see the stack of statues and such.

Moved the controller rack to the main doorway of the room. Not much changes here other than the fact that I've boxed away a lot of unused and duplicate controllers, so now there is free space on the controller rack.

Main living room with modern stuff and my display case. As you can see, Switch at least has really exploded since last update. X1 has grown considerably as well as has X1BC titles. PS4 really hasn't grown that much considering. Display case hasn't really changed since last update, but I'm considering swapping stuff.

And finally the really old stuff and relatively unloved things. It used to be on the side of the storage closet so it was accessible, but I've since moved DVDs/BDs onto that shelf and I've since moved this stuff to the back of the storage closet so it's really inaccessible... as you can tell.
